Very comfortable boat. Staff on the boat were really professional and helpfull. Thank you very much, we'll plan back. Cezary
We stayed at Pura Vida for a few days as part of our tour organized by Snorkel Ventures. The resort was great, good food, nice accommodation and very friendly staff. Suzette and her team make us all feel especially welcome. The area has a lot to offer to divers and snorkellers. The resort works with Sea Explorers dive operation and they were terrific. Vanela and her team provided superb service for out group. They were great at guiding us and pointing out various marine creatures. Vanela's dive leader, Bileg, was especially helpful with my wife and I in the water. Many thanks to all for a memorable stay at Pura Vida.
It was our first trip to the Philippines and the Pura Vida Cabilao. After a good one hour drive from the new airport in Tagbilaran and a short boat ride we arrived at Pura Vida in Cabilao. Even though it was after 7 PM the crew of the diving center welcomed us and we were able to storage all our diving equipment as we wanted to do our first dives the next morning. Once in the restaurant we got a warm welcome from the resort crew with a refreshing drink and a beautiful handmade lei. We had booked a deluxe double room close by the restaurant with an amazing view over the ocean and the resort. The room was simply furnished but spacious. Once back at the restaurant dinner was served. We had booked overnights including breakfast only. For lunch and/or dinner you could always choose…
A resort like no other. Very quiet place with friendly attentive staff. Rooms are spacious and clean, well stocked minibar. Restaurant offers a variety of asian and european dishes, all fresh prepared from the german chef and his crew. The bar is overlooking the sea, best place for a deco beer.Suzette the manager is all over the place to ensure all is going smooth, special thanks to her for organizing our transfer and bohol tour. All in all a paradise for divers and snorkelers who like a peaceful place to relax.
Off the beaten path, a remote small island. The resort is modern, clean, with a great (German) chef. All rooms have ocean view that overlook the sun rise. ( Awesome ). Food is fantastic. Dive ops are also fantastic. Pura Vida resort is also in Dauin (stayed there too ) as well as, I believe, 2 other locations. Consistently clean, well maintained - this looks NEW actually. Sea Explorers is the Dive Op. Staff is great. I intend to return to see more islands. The Scuba Diving is beyond world class - as is the staff.
Excellent resort to get away for couples. Nice rooms. Staff are real friendly. The daily dinner changes every evening. The Pizza is good. Scuba Diving is average around the area. Will definitely come back.
I am an avid scuba diver and PADI instructor from California. I am familiar with the Pura Vida “brand” and enjoyed my first visit at this Cabilao location. The island itself isolates it from any main transportation so after taking a small banka water taxi, I arrived at the beach of the resort. The resort is small and most rooms are located up on the hill from the beach with a handful of rooms and a beautiful suite located at beach level. A walk up the 51 stairs from the beach and you arrive at the restaurant, reception, spa and additional rooms. Due to the remote location and smaller size, the restaurant has a limited daily menu but the food is quite good. The spa is great and therapists are very sweet. The staff have a laid back attitude and are extremely friendly and…
I rarely rate anywhere excellent and have never rated a holiday resort excellent previously. I really liked this place. Quiet and relaxing, all the staff were very friendly and it felt more like you were staying with friends rather than in a resort. The other comparison I would make is that the atmosphere was akin to that you get in a mountain hut, particularly as all the guests (and there weren’t that many) seem to be divers so everyone got along really well. The room we had was great. Spacious with a large balcony overlooking the beach. Great views all day long. Food was very good and they catered for my fussy needs without any problems. The hookup with the dive centre is seamless, as someone else has said it’s like they are one organisation. No WiFi in the rooms, but…
We came with Kids Sea Camp in July...the rainy season...without any to dampen our stay. There is superb wall diving with beautiful soft, plate, and fan corals! We stayed in the Family Suite which was lovely with a pretty wrap-around deck. Unfortunately, it was too hot to enjoy! Some outdoor fans would be a great addition. There is no pool here, but it is on the list of renovations to be accomplished. There is a small beachfront, but it is not appropriate for swimming currently. If you are diving, it's not a big deal. Great food! The Wi-Fi is available in the restaurant/bar area where they have a comfy bean bag seating area for relaxing while staring out at the beautiful water. The dive operation, Sea Explorers, is valet and great to dive with. We saw two giant…
Cannot speak any higher of the resort. Lovely staff who will always go above and beyond. Shout out to Bigs who made our stay awesome. Fantastic diving and a high quality operation. Must dos include the whale sharks at Oslob and the day trip Balicasag.
