The hotel and staff are great, the rooms are clean and the shower area is very spacious in the room. Lovely balcony overlooking the sea across to the neighbouring island. The internet is available but isn't upto streaming standard, it even struggles with uploading photos or sending an email. My advice would be to buy a Filipono sim card at the airport, they are quite cheap and you can add money to your sim as you need to. My only other observation is that the kitchen requires you to order your lunch at breakfast time, and your dinner at lunch time, it's a small operation so basically they need to know what to prepare in advance. Pizza is available at anytime without pre order. The resort isn't that suitable for people with a walking difficulty as there are a lot of steps from the beach to the rooms and restaurant. Beach dogs.....unfortunately they aren't looked after very well and as a result a lot of them have mange, some are worse off than others and it really distressed myself and the other guests to see them suffering. It would be good if the hotels and dive schools on the island had collection boxes for donations to get medical help for these dogs, after all mange is curable with one injection and tablets. Maybe they good start a spay and neuter program for the beach dogs ? We really enjoyed our stay here and would definitely come back. …
we had a wonderful time at this small resort, we were greeted on the beach and taken to the lovely bar area with sea views we were then taken to our room we had hammerhead it was so comfortable with a lovely litle balcony looking out to sea which i used a lot as my husband dives. The food was excellent every day a small choice to choose from but really nicely cooked and presented. We were unfortunately about a week to early to try the new pool but theres always a next time the staff and suzette the lady manager made us feel so at home we had a wonderful time and were sorry to leave
Simply loved this place. Dive resort, connected to Sea Explorers. Located very isolated, not much to see on the island. Stayed there for a few days, total relaxation. The food was fantastic, you could possibly eat elsewhere on the island, but because the food was so good, we chose to eat at the hotel every day. You pay approx. 400 pesos for a main course, 200 pesos for starter or dessert. Beer costs 90, drinks about 160. Breakfast selections were a bit limited, but we were not many in the hotel, so can understand they would avoid wastage. But what they had tasted very good, try their omelet with bacon / cheese, yummy. Massage cost about 950 pesos, did not try. Smiling friendly staff, attentive without being overbearing. Bring money, especially small notes for tipping, as they do not have the opportunity to exchange money. You can pay by card, they do not charge for this. The rooms are large and we had a balcony with great view. Good cleaning. Wifi doesn't work at all, If your are lucky and the sun and the moon is in the right position, you might have 10 sec. of connection in the reception. Sometimes a little miscommunication, but we are abroad after all, so that's to be expected. We paid 3500 pesos for the airport pick-up, then we went to Anda beach, which we paid 4800 pesos for, a little expensive, but easy and fast.…
My wife and I enjoyed every second here. We had a spacious and very comfortable sea view room (Nemo) which was kept very clean. Not luxury but in every aspect a well-run looked after resort. Attentive and very friendly staff. The food ranged from pretty ok to delicious and the breakfast buffet was good. Sea Explorers dive center was superb, just like their dive masters. Every reef around Cabilao was pristine so we really enjoyed our diving. All in all, we really enjoyed our stay and will happily return :-)
We had a deluxe room which was huge with a great balcony and a great bathroom. Diving is very nice, very healthy corals, frog fish, ghost pipe fish, good guides, equipment & boats. The island does not offer a lot to non divers but great for a relaxing diving holiday. No supermarket, no other restaurants close by, you completely rely on the hotel - food is very good, prices are ok but not cheap. No direct link from Cebu. You need to go to Bohol and from there a small boat takes you in 15 minutes to the hotel. We enjoyed our stay a lot! They are building atm a pool as well. Only missing thing is that it is located on the “wrong” side of the island to see the sunset.
Hi, we spent few days in Cabilao, Pura Vida diving resort. Very nice quiet place. Friendly and helpfull staff. Very good food. Diving - one of the best corals and reefs wchich I've ever seen. Very comfortable boat. Staff on the boat were really professional and helpfull. Thank you very much, we'll plan back. Cezary
We stayed at Pura Vida for a few days as part of our tour organized by Snorkel Ventures. The resort was great, good food, nice accommodation and very friendly staff. Suzette and her team make us all feel especially welcome. The area has a lot to offer to divers and snorkellers. The resort works with Sea Explorers dive operation and they were terrific. Vanela and her team provided superb service for out group. They were great at guiding us and pointing out various marine creatures. Vanela's dive leader, Bileg, was especially helpful with my wife and I in the water. Many thanks to all for a memorable stay at Pura Vida.
It was our first trip to the Philippines and the Pura Vida Cabilao. After a good one hour drive from the new airport in Tagbilaran and a short boat ride we arrived at Pura Vida in Cabilao. Even though it was after 7 PM the crew of the diving center welcomed us and we were able to storage all our diving equipment as we wanted to do our first dives the next morning. Once in the restaurant we got a warm welcome from the resort crew with a refreshing drink and a beautiful handmade lei. We had booked a deluxe double room close by the restaurant with an amazing view over the ocean and the resort. The room was simply furnished but spacious. Once back at the restaurant dinner was served. We had booked overnights including breakfast only. For lunch and/or dinner you could always choose from 2 apatizers, 3 main courses and 2 desserts. The food was delicous. A great mix between typical Philippine and European kitchen. They also had a great choice of various drinks and wines. As Pura Vida is a rather small resort you feel like being in a family right away. Diving at Pura Vida was outstanding. They keep their driving groups small. Mostly just max. 4 persons and a diving guide. Whenever possible you have the same guide all the time and if you wish to go to a certain diving spot they try to arrange that as well. Thank you Tata for taking such good care of us. We sure enjoyed every single dive with you. Also a big thank you to the whole crew of the Pura Vida resort. We loved being with you and did not want to leave.…
A resort like no other. Very quiet place with friendly attentive staff. Rooms are spacious and clean, well stocked minibar. Restaurant offers a variety of asian and european dishes, all fresh prepared from the german chef and his crew. The bar is overlooking the sea, best place for a deco beer.Suzette the manager is all over the place to ensure all is going smooth, special thanks to her for organizing our transfer and bohol tour. All in all a paradise for divers and snorkelers who like a peaceful place to relax.
Off the beaten path, a remote small island. The resort is modern, clean, with a great (German) chef. All rooms have ocean view that overlook the sun rise. ( Awesome ). Food is fantastic. Dive ops are also fantastic. Pura Vida resort is also in Dauin (stayed there too ) as well as, I believe, 2 other locations. Consistently clean, well maintained - this looks NEW actually. Sea Explorers is the Dive Op. Staff is great. I intend to return to see more islands. The Scuba Diving is beyond world class - as is the staff.
