Beautiful hotel with friendly staff. Hotel is build at the shore of a beautiful Mangrove forest, and a bamboo build pier of 500 meters guides you through this magnificent nature. The rooms are large and very comfortable with good beds. The breakfast is good and we choose all the time to take this in our room, with view on the pool area. very easy and good prices for booking your tours at reception or a scooter rental to explore the island. Book a massage in their Mangrove tent, this is an amazing experience, feeling so comfortable and the birds singing in the mangrove woods. My Fiancé and I have recently checked out from North Zen villas having done a wonderful 2 night stay. Firstly, the negatives because they really are short. There is no beach at this resort - we were fully aware of this before staying and the hotel does offer cheap transfer to their sister hotel South Palms which is 20 mins away. There is a lovely sandy white beach there which you can enjoy. We found the process slightly strange having been asked for ID to reserve a beach towel and also I tried to order drinks but there wasn’t the ability to use card. If you are not staying you need cash as the card service is unreliable. The only other minor negative - you are asked for your breakfast choices the night before, after dinner you may not know what you fancy. Having said this, the breakfast experience taste wise and quality was exceptional so this ultimately wasn’t an issue for us. Now for the positives, the overall quality of the resort is exceptionally high with attention to detail evident throughout the grounds and rooms. The pool was exceptionally clear and clean, the mangrove walk is a must do and is truly remarkable. Great care has been taken into account with its construction. It is difficult to believe but no nails or screws were used in its construction and the level of care to the local plant life and mangroves themselves is truly admirable. Drinks and food were of a high quality. In particular Kevin from the drinks team was very professional attentive and polite with service. His drinks tasted delicious and overall he is a credit to the team. Having said this, it was hard to find any fault with the staff in general. It is very clear they do all that they can to make sure you are having a memorable and relaxing holiday. My partner and I were very impressed by this given our extensive travel together. Although we only stayed for 2 nights - close to airport and great after 18 hours travel here. We transferred locally and ended up returning one evening for food and drinks because this place is really worth it. Pricing is very competitive and worth every Penny for what is delivered. We enjoyed our stay at the North Zen Villas. We booked the Zen Suite, which was a huge room upstairs with an enormous bathroom and separate kitchenette. It was probably overkill for us as far as space goes, but that’s definitely not a complaint. It had all the amenities we needed and then some. The grounds were beautiful with a large pool, and we enjoyed walking the mangrove pier. Hands down, however, the biggest wow factor of this place was the food at the restaurant. Every single meal was top tier. The included breakfasts were incredible, and every entrée we enjoyed for lunch or dinner was extraordinary. Compliments to the chefs each time! I wouldn’t normally eat many meals at a hotel restaurant, but with this one, it seemed foolish to go anywhere else! The staff was friendly and helped us arrange a motorbike rental, which was delivered and picked up directly at the hotel. I would recommend getting a mode of transport so that you’ll have the freedom to explore the island on your terms. Other than that, the hotel is walking distance from an outdoor mall with food options and Doljo beach. I had hoped Doljo would be a good lounging and swimming beach, but the entire time we were there, it was not amicable for such activities. We opted to go to other, further beaches for snorkeling and swimming. Overall, North Zen Villas was a great place to stay, and I recommend it.…

5/5 for this hotel, Immaculate experience & service. The room was excellent. Cozy, spacious, comfortable, great AC, beautiful. Wi-Fi worked great throughout the hotel. Restaurant was exquisite, even the side dishes and drinks. And the breakfast was made to perfection. The boardwalk is beautiful, and with some luck, you’ll see an amazing sunset. The pool was great for a day-in chill out. You can even organize a massage in “The Nest” through the mangrove forest. And lastly, the staff was absolutely caregiving and helpful.

There are a lot of resorts/hotels to choose from in Panglao, but North Zen Villa is hands down one the places there that can satisfy almost everything you want in a resort. The resort's design and aesthetics is gorgeous and cozy, and the service from the staff is terrific. It's a little sanctuary situated in the center of Panglao which can afford you to be close to shops if you need anything while still maintain serenity when you're inside the resort. The pool is nice and heated at night while the boardwalk on the mangrove is an exclusive thing for the resort's guests. I can vouch as well that their restaurant serves the best tasting food in the island.

With the onset of COVID-19 upon us, it was, perhaps, not the best time for a vacation; however, we left for the Philippines on 3/6/20, arriving to Cebu a week before Manila announced additional cases and was locked down. We stayed at North Zen for two nights, 3/12 and 3/13. We had planned to stay 2 additional nights; however, we had to leave before Panglao Island was locked down as well. Even after all we went through, I cannot wait to go back there and stay when things aren't so insane. Maria Lourdes recommended North Zen to us and I am so glad she did! The staff are so friendly, the facility is impeccably clean and well put together. The only bit of feedback I could provide is (I am a form = function type of person), the fancy shower drains some water on the floor. But, as long as you put a towel down you're fine. And the floor has a drain, so it's made to get wet anyway. The bathrooms are gorgeous though. They have large windows, letting in a lot of light while maintaining privacy. The staff: I must thank Alfred, who was so accommodating to us, making last minute changes to our reservation and added specials to our stay (I.E. foot massages) as well. Christine worked in the restaurant and was new; however, you couldn't tell. She is very professional, sweet, and on top of her duties. Jayfrel makes the best mango shakes! I was impressed on day two when he remembered not to add milk to my shake, even though I had forgotten to ask. My wife's extended family is quite large, and Angel, who served us our breakfast provided impeccable service. And lastly, thank you to Shara, who was kind enough to try and contact Philippine Airlines on the phone for us so we could try and change our flight after we had heard about the cancellation of domestic flights. In this challenging, ever changing and uncertain new world, North Zen gave us the best time possible: not even a silly virus could stop them from being courteous, professional, and accommodating! Most importantly, no one ever had a frown, or look of concern on their face. Each and every one of the staff always had a smile. They really wore their brave faces well. Excellent stay - we stayed in North Zen Villas for 5 days. The resort is very nice, the staff very friendly and helpful to arrange number of attractions trips/tours. The resort restaurant is amazing place for delicious breakfasts and dinners - again amazing staff. The resort has very good location - good starting point for i) Panglao/Bohol tours and ii) sea/snorkeling/sea live watching tours. What to recommend - i) guests should definitely see the sunset from the end of bamboo walk through the amazing mangrove trees. ii) guests should take the opportunity and visit the South Palm beach resort (30min drive) with one of the most beautiful Panglao/Bohol private white sand beaches.

We really enjoyed our stay at North Zen Villas (room 18). The place is very clean and quiet. The room is spacious with a balcony, the cooler is modern and quiet. The pool is also wonderful, specially at night whith lights. We also had lunch and diner at the restaurant. The meals were veryt good. I recommend the spare ribs, delicious. I would like to thank the staff, very kind, very helpful : Shara and AJ at front desk, Christine and Kim at the restaurant, and all others. Our family stayed in a villa and a deluxe room for 7 days and all of us LOVE the place, for its tranquility, it’s amenities (huge pool, comfortable rooms, big bathrooms, soft linen, the sunset walk, the spa, etc) and not least of all, the warm, friendly and very accommodating staff. We would like to give kudos to the people who made our stay very memorable: Jean, the resort manager; Alfred, Justin, Zaldy, Manuel, Shara at the reception area; Chris, the driver; Israel, Mervin, Angel, Charlene at the Restaurant where we had breakfast everyday; Jane who gives the most blessed massage; and the housekeeping staff who are always available for our multiple requests for water, linen, dishes, etc. I would also like to mention that my 2.5 year old grandson just loves the bicycle and was on it every chance he gets. This is truly one of the loveliest resorts we’ve been to and picking to stay here instead of South Palms which we also considered gave us the best of two worlds, since we could enjoy the beach of South Palms during the day and come back to the quiet, restful ambiance of North Zen at the end of the day.
