This was our first hotel in Japan and we were expecting a small room. And it was. But it was clean and tidy and did all it should, the staff were fine and it is right beside gate B2 of the local Metro stop. Also very close to a Tullys for very good coffee and interesting breakfasts and 10 minutes...

Pros:- Right in front of Train Station, Inhouse smoking area facing the street, courteous staff, clean rooms, newly renovated, quiet surroundings Cons:- Like the rest of Japan the rooms are tiny with barely any walking and luggage space for two, the toilet felt like an airplane toilet as the ceiling and floor were all plastic, far away from all major...

Location is great, 2 min walk to the metro station (line E). Room is small but confortable. Wifi is good. Breakfast is good but it was EXACTLY the same for five consecutive days. Staff is friendly and they allow to put the luggage under lock for later pick up. Overall it is a good choice. For $110 including a breakfast...

We had 3 standard single rooms for 7 nights. There were no issues during our stay – it’s Japan after all so expect good design, high quality and polite, efficient service. The rooms were small but large enough if all you want is a place to sleep and leave luggage. The variety at the breakfast buffet was excellent, with Japanese...

A friend and I stayed here for 8 nights in a double room. The room was adequate for our needs. Nice shower with shampoo, conditioner, shower gel provided. We had breakfast included in the price of the room. There was a selection of bread, croissants, salad, curry and other buffet foods available. Pancakes can be made on request. There is...

We used the train to get into Tokyo from Narita Airport (take the Keisei skyliner for a 45 min ride to the Ueno station). When we got out of the Higashi Shinjuku station it was literally a few steps to our left. It was very easy to get around using the subway, as we didn't use the JR pass I...

The room is so small that you would be constantly bumming on the door, bed edges or chairs. If you have many baggage, you might consider getting a bigger room (if any). The hotel room does not have a cupboard and/or safe box for storage, we have to keep bringing our luxury/expensive stuff out during the whole trip. The room...

We stayed here for a week. Location was great! There was a subway right beside the hotel and it was a short walking distance from the malls at Shinjuku. There were quite a number of cafes/ eateries around the vicinity as well as a 24-hour supermarket! Staff were courteous and helpful. Our only gripes were the overly firm bed, the...

I stayed here for 10 days. The rooms are small but overall an excellent hotel, it make a great base for getting around Tokyo as the subway is outside the main door. There is a small deli / canteen opposite which I wouldn't recommend. I would return.

Staying in Shinjuku

Neighborhood Profile
Shinjuku
Shinjuku is the commuting capital of Tokyo, and contains the busiest train station in the world. To the west, there's an office district with the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Office at its center. To the east, there’s a district with long-established department stores, cinemas and theaters. Shinjuku Gyoen is a park originally built as the garden for the Imperial Household. It is quite famous as a venue for cherry-blossom viewing in March and April. In Shinjuku, many restaurants operate all night, and districts such as Omoide Yokocho (Memory Lane) or Shinjuku Golden Machi have back streets filled with tiny restaurants and bars that reflect each owner’s unique taste and style.
