Detailed Reviews
Reception area very welcoming. We were soon in the lift up to our second floor beautifully presented room- and on the floor where the hot baths/ onsen is located. Inside the room you can check on a special tv inhouse channel on how crowded the womens or mens areas are during any of the extensive opening hours. There are rules of etiquette to follow in the baths that ensures everyone enjoys the experience. This is also explained on the room tv. Comfortable pyjamas and footwear is provided for wearing in the onsen. After your hot bath you can have a treat provided to enhance your feeling of wellbeing
The room was comfortable and an extra pillow as well as plenty of towels were freely supplied. Top quality soaps and lotions in eco friendly pumps were provided. In the onsen there were wonderful provisions for drying your hair and lockers for your things
The Inn is in a quiet street but a short walk from the train station
We would definitely stay at the Dormy Premiere Inn Shibuya again

We had never been to Japan so could only go off the info on our booking website and it seemed good for a first try.
It was better than good though, the breakfast was excellent with Japanese and Western elements, the rooms were smallish (but still better than some we've had in London), well maintained, the shower was good and the fridge had fresh water bottles in it every day. The air conditioning took a bit to work out (use Google translate to see what each button does) but once going it was good. The pillow was a bit thin for me so I asked for a thicker one and it was provided. It seems a common request, they knew exactly what I wanted and we saw another guest make the same request a few days later. Toiletries are provided and topped up each day.
Laundry washing was free, as was detergent. Use of the dryer was 100 yen.
It's about a 10 minute walk to Shibuya or Harajuku stations and there are plenty of places to eat within a short distance.

The room makes efficient use of the small space. The shower and bathroom facilities are great! There is good counter space around the sink and near the bed to store things. Electric plugs and light switches near the bed are appreciated. The desk staff was very nice. The breakfast was good and included hot egg-based dishes. The free Yakult is a nice perk, although I didn't use the bath. There's also a currency conversion machine on the first floor (keep the fees in mind). I was surprised to only pay around ¥15K per night for this good-quality hotel.
The bed is too firm for Western travelers, but typical for Asia. It was also a little difficult to find space to keep my medium-sized suitcase in the room, but this is typical for rooms in Tokyo.

Ok, the location is excellent you’re a 5 minute walk from the Shibuya Crossing, you’ve amenities everywhere you turn, the room is small but comfortable, the staff are friendly and helpful.
Couple of markers, not moans: the complimentary drink is a soft one served in a paper cup. I don’t need a champagne flute on a cushion, but it’s a little misleading. Second, the pillows are two things; paper thin or rock hard. If you mix the two you’re good.
Lastly, it’s right beside a train track. Didn’t bother us but if you are a light sleeper it might.
That said, if you’re using the hotel as a base for exploring the city, and not spending a lot of time in there, it’s tremendous.

This was a nice home base while we were in Tokyo. It's a bit of a walk from the train station if you're hauling luggage, but otherwise it's conveniently located between Shibuya and Harajuku.
The main downside is that the hotel is next to the train tracks, so there's train noise before midnight and after 5am when the trains start running again.
Amenities were really convenient. We took advantage of the free washer (they provide detergent... dryer we didn't use, but that has a small fee), onsen, and snacks (yogurt drink, ice cream, late night ramen).

This was our second stay at the Dormy Inn after having previously spent a night here in 2018, and it was even nicer than we remembered! Our room was clean and of a good size, and the beds were comfortable. We loved changing into the robes provided and enjoy the free late-night ramen offered by the hotel. The free yogurt drink and ice lollies were a nice touch too. The staff was professional, friendly and attentive and allowed us to leave our luggage in the lobby before check-in and after check-out. The location is excellent too. We will certainly book at the Dormy Inn again when we are back in Tokyo.

Great location, short walk down to Shibuya crossing. Spa in hotel but not allowed to be used by any one with tattoos. Clean but small rooms. Free ice creams and coffee machines . Smoking room in lobby. Vending machines available. Free washing machines but dryer extra. Free ramen in lobby at 9.30pm. Truly a great hotel. Staff speak English, friendly and polite. Fabulous location and I mean fabulous. Short walk to Kiddyland and other shops. Takeshita Street just up the road and the Meji temple. Pompurin cafe a 10 min walk which my 16yr old daughter loved! Shibuya crossing is crazy! Pyjamas provided to walk about the hotel and the bathroom had great toiletries. An exceptional base for wandering about Tokyo

Room Tip: Great location and rail links. Walk behind the main streets for some great shops and restaurants....

This hotel was just ok. I was originally going to stay elsewhere, but as this was the the last night of my trip and the reviews for this hotel were quite good, I decided to “upgrade” from some of the cheaper accommodations nearby that I was originally considering. In hindsight, I would have stayed elsewhere. This hotel is well situated, close to Harajuku station, shopping, and restaurants - location is its key feature, and really, it’s only selling point.
This hotel was tired and it showed. It’s also tucked away down an alley, so if you know where to look, you may have difficulty finding it.
The check in process was smooth enough. The rooms are small, as is expected in Tokyo. Each room appears to have an automated light switch in the main area/entry, but the issue with that is that it does not stay on for longer than a few seconds (so, if you wish to unpack anything, hang your clothes, access the safe, etc., the light is constantly switching on and off). There is also a bright orange light on the counter associated with this switch which floods the room with light all night long.
The room I was in was a double room which felt a bit tired & grungy. It also hadn’t been cleaned particularly well (which was odd, since every other hotel I had stayed in while in Japan was spotless).
Overall, there are far better options in the Shibuya area for a much better price. I would not stay here again.

Booked for location which is good. Staff are excellent, the breakfast is good with a lot of choice. The hotel is clean. I excepted the room to be small and it was-if you have large luggage you are in trouble, thankfully we did not. 4 days was enough, any longer would require a larger space.

Perfectly adequate. The staff weren't the friendliest and the room was pretty tiny, but it was located in a pretty convenient spot, even if it is on an offshoot of the main road that looks a little suspicious at night.
Showers were decent though, so that's a plus.

Canberra (capital of) Australia2,141 contributions70 helpful votesHi, When I was last at the hotel the breakfast was free. Do they charge money for it now?
Are the Electric bikes still free to use?
Take the skyliner to Nishi-Nippori Station then take the Yamanote line towards Shibuya but get off early at Harajuku as it’s a smaller station, easier to navigate.
