This hotel has reopened, even though some websites say it hasn’t. The hotel is a very good value, with small but well-appointed rooms. Breakfast is great and the location is convenient to the subway and lots of good restaurants. I only subtract one star because of the unfortunate and bizarre pool situation. The pool is advertised all over the hotel literature, in the elevators, etc. I went to use it one day, and it is certainly nice, but after about five minutes a staff member ran out and told me I had to get out and leave. I don’t have tattoos. I’m not sure if it is closed or because I didn’t pay the extra fee (hotel is not very clear about this). I pick hotels that have pools because I like to swim laps daily, so it’s pretty annoying when they come up with nonsense as to why it can’t be used.

We stayed for several days and had a great experience with this hotel. The staff was very accommodating with holding our luggage on arrival and departure. The rooms were very clean and cleaned every day. Water pressure is excellent and hot. Room was quiet--I never heard any noise from other guests. The bed is very comfortable.

However, the room is very very small. It was a challenge to move around with the luggage on the first day, but you get into a routine that works.

You will not get any AC during the winter. If the room is hot, then we just turned off the HVAC with the unit on the bed and opened the window till the room cooled down. After that, it was great.

Well I have stayed at a lot of hotels around the world but this hotel room was the smallest by far but I believe it was to Japanese standards, The room was well equiped and very clean and modern but super small. Passing each other in the room was very friendly!! The other thing we found strange were the pillows which were firm but only about 5cm or 2 inches deep which made for a restless night, The other strange feature was that there is heating only and no Cooling AC although the room has a strange box which acts as a fan, If the room is hot then you open the window. Staff were helpful but could not speak English so all communication was done with the aid of a PC If you are looking for just a place to stay well this is fine but if you require some room to move then this is not for you

Thank you for staying at APA Hotel & Resort <Nishi Shinjuku Gochome Station Tower>. As you mentioned, the rooms are designed to be environmentally friendly and compact, and are designed to increase the efficiency of work on the bed. . On the other hand, I was very sorry that it made me feel uncomfortable when dealing with customers. Also, I am sorry for the inconvenience when it comes to pillows. We will continue to work on improving the service, so we look forward to your coming again. Thank you very much for submitting your valuable opinions while you are busy.

I arrived at 7am on an overnight flight from Hong kong hoping they could check me in asap. They told me at 12, so I left for breakfast and for a walk in the area because the lobby doesn't even have a socket where you can charge your phone or computer. Not even a trush can.
At 12 they told me if I wanted an "early check in" ( what??? early check in???, is 12pm!!! ) I had to pay 3000Y, about 26€. I told that girl the front desk guy in the morning didn't mention they will charge me, just that my room would be ready at 12pm. That girl, Ms. Hongo, treated me like a piece of xxx: she just say PAY. Not even an explanation or anything, I told her I wanted to talk to the manager because of her behaviour, no maners to treat a customer, she said the manager wasm't available. I told her to leave a message to the manager because I wanted to talk to him about her. The manager never contacted me. I left the bext day paying, no chance to complain and neither Ms. Hongo or her manager care at all. I will never go back to that Hotel chain in my life!

Thank you for staying with us. At first we apologize our behavior, sorry about that. We should be more polite and do good customer service to guests. Also we apologize that we did not mention about extra charge for early check in. Check in time is usually from 3:00pm, and it takes ¥1,000 per hour before 3:00pm. The earliest check in time is 12:00. We hope you enjoyed your trip in Tokyo. Clerk Oyake

The hotel was fine. The room and bathroom was really small (as you would expect in Japan).
Good Points - Hotel was close to subway / Swimming pool & lounge on the 11th floor, although small, was good for an hour on relatively warm afternoons / Bar was an Irish pub with the meals very good / McDonalds about a five minute walk. / Fairly quiet.
Bad Points - Thought I'd bought breakfast but on first morning, realised I hadn't / Check in at 3pm was a bit negative (I'd flown almost 14 hours and got to the hotel at 12pm the following morning). Went to lunch but still really negative.

Thank you very much for staying at APA Hotel & Resort <Nishi Shinjuku 5-chome Station Tower> This hotel is a business-style hotel,so the rooms are not too big,but close to a subway station, convenience store and near the downtown, like Shinjuku,Ropponngi,Hrajuku,Shibuya. You can go to Shinjuku for 10 minutes by taxi or 5 minutes by subway. Check-in time is 3pm. if you want to check-in early, you need to pay 1000 JPY per hour. Maekawa

Apa Hotel is a frequent visitor. I Check-out every time with a really normal satisfaction: "I don't like it, but it's at this price..."

What I liked about this Apa Hotel was its location near the station, if you choose the time, it is almost a private public bath, and a laundromat. It was very convenient for long stays. The ice machine also came in handy casually.

However, it was difficult to imagine the cleaning staff working closely with the hotel staff in an atmosphere where they could not speak Japanese, and somehow the overall cleanliness of the hotel was exceptional.
When I got back to my room after cleaning it, the TV channel changed to BBC news multiple times. Others, for example, tend to clog the drains in the public baths, the shelves of the kiosks are lightly dusted, and the dryer filters don’t seem to have been cleaned much… (Once I was dressed like a front desk staffer, I cleaned the dryer filters in the hallway. Is there no place in the backyard? I have a hunch.)
Also, as expected, the unit bath is really small, and when you sit on the toilet seat, your knees are attached to the wall. I feel kind of bad every time. Facilities include a swimming pool and public bath, but the rooms don't feel Resort.

Every Apa hotel adheres to a certain minimum line, so I make Reservations every time, but most of the time I choose for negative reasons rather than positive ones.

I was so disappointed in my room. Despite the room being the size of a shoebox, there are no shelves or closet space, NONE. The only place to put your belongings is inside your suitcase under the bed. It was annoying not being able to take out my clothing and hang them up during my week long stay.
I also would not recommended two people staying in the room as there is literally not enough space for more than one person at a time. I honestly would not have mind if the hotel provided a common area to lounge in but there is none.
Also you cannot control the temperature in your room. The room was too hot the entire time, it was so uncomfortable.
Also the spa was not a spa. It just consists of two hot tubs, that's it. No sauna or steam room available.

The room was small, but enough for sleeping. It was clean and well-maintained. It was close to the station, so transportation was convenient. It seems that cleaning is done every 3 days for eco-friendly reasons, but personally I would like it to be cleaned every day. Toothbrushes and shavers were not replenished every day, which was a bit inconvenient. It would be nice if toothbrushes and other items could be freely taken near the front desk. There was a large public bath, which was nice. Check-in, luggage storage, and check-out are done online or by display, but I felt it was a bit of a hassle.

room is tiny (like most of the hotels in Tokyo). Overall it's good hotel to stay for budget travelers. APA chain hotels have several location throughout Tokyo, I stay the one which located outside the crowded area to keep the noise minimal. It's a good hotel and highly recommend when visit to Tokyo.

A very busy hotel with 18 floors and only 4 lifts and no stairs. Around checkout time we waited 6 times for the lift and every time the door opened it was packed to the brim full of people.

With the coronavirus a serious threat forcing that amount of strangers in a lift together for a 10am check out time is irresponsible.

The same thing happened the night before it was the exact same thing waiting 10-15 mins for the lift. Ridiculous.

Rooms were tiny as was the bathroom.

On the plus side the TV was big and there was a nice view from the window. The male staff members were very nice, polite and accommodating.

Maybe mixed something as there are some reviews saying that there is no iron but I recall there was the special usage room on our floor with the boards and the iron 🙏🏼
