It's really close to shibuya NEX exit. but not really close to yamanote line and metro line. since shibuya station is under renovation, its quite complicated to get to shibuya main station. The room is normal japanese room size with a kitchenette and washing machine. The breakfast at jonathan's does not have many choice.
The airport limousine bus stopped in front of the hotel which was a plus since we were traveling with golf clubs. The staff was extremely helpful with our luggage and took the time to assist the taxi driver with loading our luggage when transferred to our next hotel. The hotel was located in the middle of multiple shopping and eating places all within walking distance. Rooms were larger than typical Japan hotels and as expected clean. Would definitely stay here again because of the access from the airport, train station, hotel staff, and loads of shopping and restaurants.
Summary based on two separate, multi-day stays: --convenient to Shibuya station New South exit, but a long walk to Yamanote line. NEX convenient. --secure, quiet, decent sized with work area, kitchenette, washer/dryer, closet space. Good lighting and ok electrical receptacles. --good temperature control, including air con --Friendly, English speaking staff --adjacent to 24 hour restaurant with ok Western or Japanese breakfast. Many restaurants and several convenience stores close by. --grocery store 450m walk away --drinks vending in the lobby, including beer --in room safe There are two buildings for this hotel, which are about 5 minutes apart. I've only stayed in the one next to Jonathan's. Recommended in this area, especially if you want a washer/dryer.
The hotel rooms are a fine size, but a little old and dated. The hotel location is very close to the Shibuya train station's "New South Exit" which is nice if you're using JR lines or coming from the Bullet Train. There was a lot of construction near by, but the noise wasn't an issue for us on the 10th floor. I'm giving this 3 stars because the "restaurant" where they provide breakfast was the dirtiest restaurant we saw in Tokyo. It was so dirty and bad smelling (they allow smoking) that I couldn't stomach eating breakfast there. I have a pretty high tolerance for this stuff, but it was bad. If you're looking for a cheap place to stay in a convenient location, go for it. But don't count on using the free breakfast.
(+) The hotel is very close to Shibuya station. (+) Staff was very friendly and cooperative (+) Complimentary breakfast at Jonathan's was good. (+) Wifi was hiccup-free (+) Laundry service was great (-) This was the smallest room I stayed in, out of my last 5 trips to Tokyo (-) Although they had a microwave, refrigerator, stove; but not basic cutlery like at least a couple porcelain bowls, ladels. (-) One or two coffee sachets, and sugar would have been a great relief after a long flight, but they too were not provided. (-) No rice cooker too Overall disappointing experience since I booked this hotel mainly because it had a kitchen and it failed my expectations.
The hotel Is close to the train station and has both restaurants and convenience stores on the doorstep. It’s a 5min walk from a supermarket. He staff are friendly and helpful, and the room was large compared to other rooms we stayed in while visiting Japan. There was a little fridge, a microwave and hot plate in the room, and also a washer dryer. Would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Tokyo, and we will definitely stay again.
Hotel is located on the less busy side of Shibuya station, some might consider the location being not as convenient but I actually prefer it that way as it's more quiet and easy to get to and from the station without the need of getting through a busy crowd. Hotel is only 5mins walk from the station and there's escalator to get up and down to the train ticket gate, which definitely makes traveling with suitcase much easier. The staff were very friendly and there's free coffee at the lobby. Room was spacious (by Tokyo standard) and had a washing machine and cooking stove. There's a convenient store right next to it. Breakfast at Jonathan was basic with unlimited drinks. I enjoyed trying different menu each morning. While some might consider the room might be slightly outdated, I was happy with my 3 nights stay there and would stay there again for sure.…
Shibuya depot is about a block away so you can get anywhere from here. Not to mention the 7/11 and Lawson stores! You will find these places a heaven of good food to eat as well as to buy coffee. The rooms are small but filled will all the comforts of home. Including a washer/dryer combo--one machine that does both!! Perfectly!! I made use of it my first night and it worked like a charm. I paid a bit extra for my room to take advantage of the breakfast you can get next door. I stayed 3 nights and will def be back if my travels take me to Tokyo again!
We stayed for about 3 nights which was pretty much our last few days in Japan and it did not disappoint. If you are arriving at Shibuya station, just head to their New South Exit and it will be a quick 5 minutes walk from the exit gate. Handy! Also it is in the quieter side of Shibuya however lots of family marts and restaurant to choose from. The room is compact but it has everything you need. Even your own washing machine in the room! It is clean but does feel a little dated. Didn't bother us too much tho. Also they do not offer daily cleaning due to our short stay which is completely fine with us.
Stayed for six nights during a very hot August. This was our second experience with a Tokyu Stay and they are now a hotel chain that are on our go-to list. More expensive than your average business hotel, but on par or cheaper than many of other mid-range hotels, this Tokyu Stay had a larger than average room for Tokyo, ample storage space for luggage, a separate seating area from the bed, a balcony and (as seems to be standard in Tokyu Stays) an in room washer/dryer (with English language direction sheet provided). There is also a fridge and a induction burner for cooking (although we didn't use the latter). Good wifi access. The hotel is not fancy but it is clean and reliable and feels spacious. Location was convenient to Shibuya Station on a quiet back street. Take the New South Exit to find yourself steps from the hotel door (within Shibuya Station follow the signs for the JR Saikyo Line if you don't see one for the New South Exit). Family Mart located right next to the hotel, Lawsons less than a block away. Great experience, comfortable, good air conditioning, ample space. Would definitely stay here again.…
