We learned this pension house through Bohol's integrated site. I've inquired for almost 100 hotels/beach resorts all over regarding tour packages and accommodations w/ the most affordable rates. I've tried my luck here since it's one of the cheapest. Moreso, it's good that they have a look at their rooms and the whole area. All I can say is that the staffs are very accommodating, the area is cozy, the rooms are clean (even the comfort rooms). When we got there, our room is already prepared. If your looking for a tour package, make sure to grab theirs and find "Kuya Junjun" - as he is the best tour guide ever. Nagkapalagayan kame (me and my friends) ng loob kasi OK siya. Also, lahat ng hotspots napuntahan nmn ng wulang pagmamadale or ngarag sa oras.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED PENSION HOUSE!
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED TOUR GUIDE!

Had a great 7 day stay here with tours which they arranged for us. Rooms were big for the price and the staff was great! I saw one reviewer here in TA say that there were allot of stairs. I counted 35 steps to the 3rd floor, which my grandmother wouldn't have had a problem with, strange comment.
Will book here again!

I was there before, during and after the 7.2 magnitude earthquake of 10/15/2013. There was no better place to be at any price. It was 45 miles from the epicenter, high enough above sea level to be unreachable by any tsunami. There was widespread damage throughout the island but the Vest suffered only small cracks and a few fallen tiles. The other guests soon left for the evacuation area but I chose to stay and take my chances with the staff and some of the neighbors. It was the right choice. Soon busloads of tourists evacuated from beach resorts started showing up looking for accommodations but the manager had decided no one could be allowed inside for more than a few minutes until a civil engineer and the architect had inspected the building. Of course that was the correct decision on his part. It happened at 8:12AM. I killed time outside the building with the staff and some neighbors. At night it was me, the security guards and a few neighbors. I had my own supply of Clif Bars and bacon jerky which I shared with a few of them, and they insisted on feeding me rice and freshly barbecued chicken. They were friendly and generous. There are no better people anywhere. The electricity was off for only eleven hours and the cell phone service was never interrupted. I know of no price gouging, looting or other unsavory disaster-related activity in the entire city of Tagbilaran. After about 30 hours I found a way to get back to comfort in Cebu. I have stayed there since and would go back anytime I could afford the plane ticket. Stay at the Vest and pay day use fee at a beach resort if you want the beach experience. No visitors allowed- this is a respectable establishment.

We had an overnight stay only. Room looks a bit old but spacious. Free wifi, airport transfers and plated breakfast. Located in a residential area but near the city center. Very quiet at night. Easy to get a tricycle (PhP30 to/from Island City Mall and PhP7 per passenger to/from Bohol Quality Mall). For very cheap fresh seafoods, you can buy these from the wet market infront of Island City Mall and have these cooked at any food stalls inside where they only charge less than Php30 per half kilo (steamed or grilled).

Me and my family went to Bohol last April 4-9 to get some rest and relaxation and just like any family holiday, we want to get a good accommodation without blowing up our budget. After reading several reviews, we decided to book our stay at Vest Pension House.

So here goes my review:

1. EXCELLENT SERVICE

* we were picked up from the airport on time
* all the hotel staff are very polite and will sincerely greet you and ask you if you need anything
* they offer tour packages and will give suggestions based on what you want to do and see in Bohol.
* their contract drivers are very accommodating if you have any request to see other places not within the package, as long as it is within the allotted time of the tour, at no extra cost.
* they don't mind going an extra mile for their guests

2. Good Location

* less than 10min from Tagbilaran Airport
* walking distance from shopping centre, church and hospital
* less than an hour, by drive, to several tourist spots like Chocolate Hills, Baclayon Church, Tarsier Sanctuary, Panglao Island and Loboc River
* safe and quiet neighborhood

3. Awesome Breakfast

* the serving is quite big, which is a good start for a whole day of sight seeing and physical activities
* the kitchen closes at 8pm but there is a mini bar at the lobby

4. Homey Room

* the deluxe room (with ac) is big enough to accommodate 3 persons, can still move around the room but please take note there is an additional cost for extra bed.
* very cozy, clean and housekeeping is done daily, unless you give instructions not to clean your room.
* toilet is basic but clean
* free wifi and fast

5. Affordable Rate

* about 35SGD (I am more familiar with SGD conversion) per night, for 2 persons with breakfast
* airport pick up (to and fro) is free

To the owners and staff, THANK YOU SO MUCH, you gave us the highest standard of service, especially when we need to bring my brother to the hospital for an emergency treatment, we really appreciate it.

Truly a home away from home...DEFINITELY WE WILL BE BACK!

We booked via Agoda £13 including breakfast for 2. I emailed them via their website to get their free airport pickup service and they responded promptly. We were picked up at Tagbilaran promptly and taken by their own minibus to Vest. We were given a larger double room (R301) with AC and TV, wifi too. Room was clean and had hot shower with toiletries and clean towels. Room cleaned when we requested. Many power sockets (Phillipines). Breakfast had 3 choices - omelette or egg or Corned beef PLUS toast or french toast or rice/garlic rice PLUS coffee or juice. Breakfast was always quick, large, tasty and hot. Service was great always. Beers from reception 50P (San Miguel Lite or Beer) It was a 15 min walk to the water front or 20 min to Island Mall (bus/jeepney station) Great location and quiet! Enjoy!!

airport/seaport transfers, breakfast included, and very accommodating staff. Great value for money. I was a bit disappointed with the fact that they advertised bathrobes when if fact it was not. Nevertheless it is a wonderful place.

Stayed at the Vest for 3 nights in April.. just loved the rustic feel about the place.. room was a queen deluxe ( breakfast inc ), 2 dbl beds !! only needed the 1 :) room included large wardrobe, fridge, cable tv & ac.. was just astounded by the size of the room !! , super friendly staff also.. only downside is the road on way to the hotel.. super bumpy holes everywhere.. get bruises riding on a trike :P but in no way did this affect our stay at the Vest !

the place was also affected by the earthquake which is such a shame.. as the building inside and out looks fantastic !

i include some pics inc the minor damage.. excuse the mess :P

the pics are in no way to put people of from visiting here.. quite the opposite.. since the earthquake in oct 2013 tourism in Bohol took a big hit.. the place does need a little tourism boost.. Bohol for sure is my fav place in Philippines so far !!

1 last thing of note.. this is the only place i have ever visited that felt i wasn't staying in a hotel/ pension house.. it was just such a homely feel to it.. i honestly felt i was staying in someones house !! loved it loved it !!

Vest we`ll be back !!

Bohol is just our "side trip" from the Cebu itinerary we personally prepared. Through planning we realized that we could seek for an affordable place to sleep over the night since our trip is jam-packed with different activities for a short period of time. Seeing Vest Pension all over budget itineraries posted online, we searched for its contact number and effortlessly booked with them over the phone. Arriving from Cebu, we were welcomed by their representative at Tagbilaran and drove us to their place which is just 20mins away from the port. Receptionist and staffs are welcoming. We just left our things in our room and started our Bohol trip which was also arranged by them.

Vest provides all the basics that you need. Their room is humble and spacious with tv, A/C, telephone, towels, toilet & shower w/ soap & shampoo. Wifi is also available even inside our room. They also have restaurant on their ground floor which serves free breakfast for their guests. Don't expect so much details on the interiors of the hotel yet the ambiance is still very comforting and homey.
