We stayed for two nights at Green Verde in one of their beach huts with shared bathroom; we paid 800 Peso a night.

The room was very basic with a double bed, fan, table and mirror; we shared a shower room and toilet with one other beach hut, this was clean and a better option to a private bathroom as it was actually nicer and cheaper at 1200 Peso per night for double with private bathroom.

At Green Verde there was the added advantage of electricity throughout the night until 6am which is ideal as this kept us cool as we could use the fan, although the implications of having overnight electricity means having to listen to a generator all night but this applies to any beach hut accommodation in Sabang so cannot be seen as a negative specifically for Green Verde alone, just remember to take ear plugs if you are a light sleeper.

We ate in the restaurant on a number of occasions for both breakfast and dinner. The staff, specifically Gerald and Junil were excellent and the food was good value for money and really tasty, probably the best from what was offered by the beach hut resorts in Sabang. We had no interest in eating in the two ‘western’ resorts, I would imagine they were far superior considering the prices and facilities but this isn’t what we went travelling for.

The menu was extensive and we didn’t experience any problems with availability of the dishes the only downside to the restaurant was their lack of liquor license so we could not have a beer with our dinner. The shrimps were huge and the banana pancake was delicious. We had the option of adding our food and drinks to our room so we could pay at the end of our stay but we opted to pay as we went. They also offered a laundry service for 60 pesos per kilo, this was a next day service.

Francis can arrange a boat from Sabang to Port Barton for 1200 pesos per person, this is the standard price for this trip. He can also arrange the underground river trip for the same cost however I would recommend organising this yourself as we did this for 650 pesos per person.

Go to the port to register for a following day trip, they will tell you what times are available. The underground river costs 250 pesos per person, the ferry boat which takes you to the river is 1600 pesos approximately for the boat which will take 8 people, you just need to group together with other tourist waiting at the port and split the cost between you, we shared 4 in a boat so our trip cost 650 pesos per person in total.

If you are used to 3+ star accommodation then Green Verde is probably not for you but if you are a traveller or want to experience

Im Canadian, female 35 years old. I stayed here with two other girls in their 20's from New Zealand - Jan 2013. The 3 of us are used to Asian travel - so for us this place was perfect. Location, price, and our own little cabin on the beach. The food was some of the BEST I've eaten ever. Ever! I was to go back just to reorder their veg curry.... lastly, they had a young girl 15 years old helping out, her name was Ivy. She was an absolute sweetheart. She helped teach me to "properly" hand wash my clothes, and no matter how much I tried she would not even take a tip from me. When travelling in Asia, and paying so little for accommodations if you can understand that these are not 4+ star hotels and you will love this place :)

We booked through Agoda and apparently they 'never informed us of the booking' and they were fully booked. They put is in a VERY basic hotel right at the other end of the beach. (dirty no hot water) They said it was the same price but I doubted it and no offer was made to refund us. We had breakfast at Green Verde which was OK. Do not expect fast service anywhere, they take forever to take ur order. We also had lunch there which was ok. I would recommend going for lunch at the Sheridan as its a good price BUT check the buffet first somedays it good some days it isnt - they wont mind u walking round to look. The massage at the Sheridan is also great and worth the extra price for the aircon or abit cheaper if u fancy it on the beach.

I would stay one or two nights in Sebang see the river and enjoy the beach and move on. The underground river isnt the most amazing thing but a nice trip.

If you are moving on from Sebang to El nido get the green buses. DO NOT pay to get a 'air conditioned van' from the little stall at the beginning of the beach. They overcrowd it and vans are very old and ours borke down. Its a long drive and most of the way doesnt not even have a road. Allways ask to see the car or find enough ppl to hire a private one.

The huts are nice, in nicely gardened compound with beach in view. We chose the limited electricity option. (Electricity only from 5pm until 10pm)

The resto was good and cheap. They got a few activities like motorcycle hire. The waves were body-surfable sometimes.

I fully recommend this place if you want to relax and not get smashed too hard by vendors. Was fully impressed and hope to return to this place.

The address on this page says Sabang Mindoro, The pic is of Green Verde , Sabang , Palawan. This review is about the Sabang, Palawan Green Verde.

I can't speak to the hotel, but I recommend the restaurant.

It's the slow season in Sabang, so the chef was about to leave for church services, but kindly agreed to cook dinner for us. We had a delicious pineapple curry and spicy crisp chicken. The owner chatted with us while the food was being prepared and turned away three other fellows who arrived just after us. Lovely setting, good food, nice owners. It's right beside the fancy Sheridan Resort where you pay ten times the price for a similar meal.

The bungalows are very basic and I didn't like the toilet and shower together but you will find this is the done thing in the Philippines. I saw a cockroach in the bathroom and we had ants all over our bed for this reason I would not recommend to stay there ! The owners and staff and very helpful and nice and the food in the restaurant was absolutely lovely . There is also a shake bar at the top of the beach near the town they have an array of fruit hanging outside and the rum shakes are delicious as our just the fruit ones. The guy there will help you with all you tours and is very genuine it's called Palawan adventures .

ACCOMMODATION: This place is "not hot, not cold". Not really anything.
All beach 'resorts' (except for the two upmarket ones) have nipa huts and seem to sell for 500-1200 pesos, depending on size, no. of beds, and views. This one is no different. The location along the strip is convenient, not too far but away from the busy dock area where 100+ daytrippers hang around at any given time. The hut wasn't the best, we've seen both better and worse ones; the neighbouring shower leaked into our room, the shower wasn't working well and the flooring was shabby, but it had a sea view and a nice deck, and a good bed with clean linen. Because it was low season, we could choose places and when we decided to stay at Green Verde, Luis seemed to be grumpy all the time because we'd bargained with him(?) and then because we left after one day(?), very strange. The couple in the neighbouring room had the same experience.

So I'd not necessarily recommend this place but neither is it necessary to avoid it.

The FOOD however was very good and reasonably priced. The filled squid, chicken adobo and fish in coconut sauce were all tasty. Service was pleasant. However it took forever until the food was served.
On sunday morning they didn't serve breakfast but we found a place down the strip that did.

At 1600 peso/night I expected more.
This is truly bottom end. Fine if you pay bottom end but it's upper price for back packers.
Our extra guests during the night include red ants on the floor and in the bed, rats in the ceiling (sounded fairly big!) and a dog ripping thru the trash can out side and scratching at our door all night. I had to drink 2 large rums just to be able to sleep! The bathroom is very old and rough and the entire villa is in a bad state. I'm not exaggerating and this is easily my worst review of any place but I feel strongly and I'd like to advise others.

Both the restaurant and the resort are a great option if you want to overnight in Sabang. For visiting the underground river, I would definitely recommend that. Sabang is very busy during the late morning through the afternoon. In the evening it is lovely and quiet - perfect time to enjoy a meal at the Green Verde Restaurant. I recommend to visit the underground river on the first tour in the morning then.

We stayed in a small room in the back with shared bathroom. It was very clean and has electricity overnight, so you can use the fan.

Miguel helped us arrange a boat to Port Barton together with other travellers. We even had a stop-over to snorkel for an hour.
