Habitat Guest House offers budget-friendly yet decent, clean and comfortable rooms for scuba divers in Sabang, Puerto Galera, Philippines. Affordable scuba diving courses and fun diving are also offered here through partnerships with top-rated dive shops in the area, all well within a short walk away. Non-scuba divers are welcome to stay too, of course! There are plenty of things to do in Puerto Galera other than diving. But please know and understand that there are no TVs in the rooms and staffing is limited from 6:00 AM - 6:00 PM since this is (just) a guest house and not a full-service hotel with plenty of on-site amenities. The guest rooms are simple yet clean and well thought of. Aside from the basics, there's a shared kitchen/dining room for all guests and an awesome view of Sabang Bay and Batangas from the shared 3rd floor balcony.

Habitat guest house is beyond value for money. With its well laid out rooms and hospitable staff, my wife and I along with a few friends had a great weekend experience. We went snorkeling the first day, went on a scuba dive the 2nd day with Sea Rider. Everything in our trip including our Manila pick up and back were arranged by our wonderful host Bryan and his lovely wife Yana.

We stayed at Habitat for our dive trip in Nov 2018. Very happy with the place. It is well-located, on one side of the Sabang beachfront. This means that you are away from the noisy and active parts but still within a 5-minute walk to the center. It is a few feet away from the ocean and commands wonderful views, we woke up early every morning to enjoy a coffee on the terrace. Great place to sit for drinks in the evening but we were diving so there wasn't much of that :) As a guest house, it does not have its own restaurant but that hardly matters because there is a variety of options within easy reach. In any case, we wanted to try the food at several of the nice places around. It does have a common kitchen where you can cook whatever you want, if so inclined. Importantly, there is a water cooler in the open kitchen and you can top up at any time of the day, rather than having to walk to a shop to buy. The rooms are very nice and comfortable. On a diving holiday, what I wanted was a place with hot water showers, clean bathrooms, air-con rooms. Habitat has all this. There is wi-fi available in common areas, but I did not need to use it so I am not sure of how well it worked. There are safes in every room. The place is quite new and things are in very nice condition. I hope they keep it this way. The housekeeping staff is friendly and efficient. Don't expect uniformed formality, though. The Sea Rider dive shop is located just below (the rooms are up a flight of stairs). Mark and his team, Rico and JR, manage the dive shop and are very professional, knowledgeable and friendly. We had some great dives with them. This is a smallish dive shop so you are saved from the experience of waiting around for large groups to coordinate. Yana and Bryan were our hosts. While I did not get a chance to meet them in person, they were very responsive on email and phone, especially important because I had some troubles with money transfers to make payments and they were very kind and understanding about the whole thing. Yana also provided me with detailed information before our trip, which was quite helpful. One of the best dive trips I have been on and I will be back for sure, hoping that Habitat doesn't change - will surely stay there again.

Room Tip: 3 rooms each on level 2 and 3. I would prefer level 3 rooms for the terrace access.

My friend and I stayed at Habitat Guest House in August 2018 for our dive trip to the Philippines. The location of the guesthouse is very convenient. Restaurants are within walking distance and the wet market is a 10 minute walk for those opting to make their own meals at the guesthouse. We arranged diving with Habitat's partner dive shop, which is located on the same building (Read: no lugging of wet dive gear across town). Hot shower had strong pressure and the water did not stink! Hallelujah! I did a bit or research regarding accommodations in Sabang and found not only does Habitat offer a lower rate than most, but they provide better amenities: clean rooms, bathrooms, a safe, a shared kitchen and a view of Sabang beach. For me, it all really boils down to the experience. My initial correspondence with Habitat's staff had always been customer focused. They made check in so smooth and were eager to offer help when needed. Bryan, the owner and manager of the guesthouse, is also a master planner. He pretty much organized and got me everything I needed with a single text... ;) from obscure transfers to the airport to hot ginger tea in the morning! Staying at Habitat Guest House was the perfect choice for our vacation in Sabang and will definitely contact them the next time I plan to visit Sabang! ๐Ÿ˜Š

This place has got everything you need to have a perfect island vacation. The room is beautiful and has a complete kitchen. The bedroom is very cozy and the view from the balcony is awesome. I'd highly recommend this to my friends especially if DIVING is the goal, because just downstairs the best diving shops can be found too!

The place is clean and easy to locate; bonus is, it has a breathtaking ocean view! Highly recommended for family or group of friends travelling on a weekend dive trip (it has a dive shop below its rooms so itโ€™s very convenient!)
