This is an old monastery turned into a hotel. The building and the grounds are spectacular. The rooms are super huge and very comfortable. The breakfast was delicious and service amazing. The town is charming and the locals are welcoming and friendly. One of my favourite places in italy
The hotel is a remarkable building with impressive grounds at the edge of the historic center of Cherasco with private parking. It is walking distance from the historic centres great choice of restaurants (We recommend Pane & Vino). Our "junior suite" was large enough (2 stories) but a bit worn down. Unfortunately, there was a lot of noise at night. Breakfast offers a lot of choice, very good with helpful staff in a spectacular room.
The hotel is a spectacular building, with lovely grounds, dedicated parking, and a good view just near the end of the main road in the historic center. The room was spacious, quiet, a large bathroom, and was relatively recently refurbished. If you are used to Italian hotels, you know that in the countryside, in the offseason, you can expect some gentle wear and tear and some sparser services (especially since it seems the traffic is largely on business during the mid-week). But reception was quite helpful and friendly, but more comfortable in Italian than English. Breakfast was typical of an Italian hotel, with plenty of choices (and an excellent hazelnut cake). No signs of the damp or must reported by others in the breakfast room (except in the side cellar where the wine is on display, and that would be expected). The primary downside was a slightly less than nice mattress.…
Stayed here with a group on a back roads trip. Huge building, great location for walking of grounds, nearby church (Chiesa Di Sant'Agostino Cherasco), adjacent gardens and a chapel (Madonnina delle Grazie di Cherasco). Despite the cold and drizzle, we had a beautiful long range views of the Via Sturra (SP 661) a along the Passaggio Bastiani to the old town.
I had booked several rooms for our families to stay after our wedding in serralunga. The range of rooms is good. Most of the part liked their rooms. Some were very modern and recently refurbished. The junior suites were a big hit and very good. I booked a suite for myself and my wife. It was poor. While architecturally impressive with beautiful ceiling and lots of space. The furnishings were old and tired. The leather sofa badly worn. The bed rock hard , the cupboards creaked and squeaked. We arrived early admittedly but no effort was made to help. Bags left by reception for nearly an hour before they were moved. When my wife and I returned later to get in our room. Our bags were behind reception but we were jot told. We also were not told how to find our room ina large property worth many corridors, stairs and areas. Reception was regularly left with no staff or someone to sit behind but could not help. Also when we got to our suite, there were no instructions for the safe. I called for assistance, a boy arrived in shorts and trainers unlocked it and left before I could work it out. I eventually reset it myself but this left me very frustrated. The pool Is beautiful, the waiter at the pool and terrace bar helpful although food was charged to the wrong rooms. Breakfast was ok. But service for coffee was slow. The building has amazing architecture and a great location. Some elements are v good. But it seemed that some staff did not care or want to help. Of all the guest houses, farm houses, hotels and b&b's we havebatayed at in piedmonte on our visits since 2014, this one left a bad impression. Which is a shame. I consider our room very poor value for money. …
