Stayed here at the end of March with friends to see Cherry Blossoms. It was easy one block walk to metro, has a supermarket across the street, cheap underground parking, a large lobby to work or hang out, and several restaurants in easy walking distance. The front desk was knowledgeable and friendly. They offer a "tidy" service that makes the beds and changes out the towels. No issues what so ever except breakfast is expensive and we usually get that with our status but not at this hotel. Not that big of deal for us as it looked like limited offerings but if this is important, get in writing before you show up.
This hotel was clean, quiet and close to conveniences. The Dunn Loring Metro stop is practically across the street as well as quick service restaurants, and a full service grocery store. The staff was friendly and I really enjoyed the ease of using the Marriott app for checking in, as a mobile key, and for check out. Only a 20 minute ride on the Metro to most DC attractions made this a great option for our family.
I was surprised at how convenient this location was. I liked the underground parking and felt it to be more secure than a packed parking lot. The rooms were nice and they allowed you to control the room temperature. We will come back as we are planning a return in a few months.
My previous reviews late last year still stands. This is an excellent hotel and a good value if you manage to book early and get a good price. Check in was fast and the front desk was very courteous. She was upfront about possible internet outages, which did not happen. I tested the internet speed and it was quite good. No need to update to a "faster" (paid) service. My only update is this. Last year, they had a grab and go breakfast which was quite substantial and really good. Well, as of this time, it was no longer available. Their bistro is now open and as you can guess, it is not free.
I had a procedure at the Woodburn Outpatient Center which I needed a hotel to stay at for two nights, the night before surgery, and the night after surgery to have a post-op visit with the ophthalmologist. I wanted to stay close since we needed to be at Woodburn early in the AM & I didn't want to run into any traffic delays. First, I usually only stay at Marriott properties, rooms are very clean and comfortable and service is usually very good and consistent. Pre-COVID, I would want to stay at a Marriott property that included breakfast as part of the room fee but since the pandemic, having an included breakfast is not the same anymore. This Courtyard is well located, on Gallows, less than 2 miles from INOVA Woodburn. There is a Starbucks within walking distance, Courtyard is close to Sweetwater Tavern and several other restaurants. Room was fine, relatively quiet, on the 10th floor. Check-in was quick and efficient. Parking is $5 per night and that is typical for any hotel in the Tysons area. I was OK with fee, it was nominal. The only issue that we experienced, which I have never experienced in all my stays at various hotels throughout the world, was that there were sugar ants - we had a small snack in the room, and two appeared on a table that folks would use for their computer or possible eat off of. I killed two, then killed another. I let the front desk know so that they could do something after we checked out. Unfortunately we were too unpacked to move to another room. We made a decision not to eat anything in the room which was very inconvenient since I wasn't sure if I wanted to appear in public after I had my surgery. Everything was OK for the rest of the first night and the next AM. However when we came back after the surgery, I killed another one in a different location in the room and then another. So I called the front desk and said that they were still appearing to make sure that something would be done. The front desk person apologized and said that she would leave a message with the manager, Andy, who will want to talk to me in the AM. So the next AM, once we got our Starbucks coffee & scones to eat at a table in the lobby, I talked to Andy and he was not aware of the situation and said that ants are a problem this time of year in Northern VA. Until I prompted him about being inconvenienced and having to kill ants, he then comped back part of the room for the second night which I appreciated. However, I still decided to write this review favorably since the hotel is in a great location and I would stay here again. Just maybe not in May when the ants are appearing in Northern Virginia.…
