We booked an executive suite which turned out to be a clean and newish large room with a double bed, 2 single beds, modern bathroom, flat screen TV, small fridge and a kettle with tea and coffee supplies. No WiFi but Telstra works!
The food at the roadhouse was really good – my husband ordered rib eye steak and I ordered pork chops. The food was well-cooked, portions were extremely generous, and we thought it was very reasonably priced given the remote location.
Drinks from bar were a little expensive and this is not a place to buy fuel.

We stayed at Border Village for 1 night. The site is set out in a visually pleasant way with cabins set out surrounding a parking area in a rather informal arrangement. The rooms were rather basic, the interior floor was a little "gritty', the TV reception was terrible (& only 3 channels) and the wifi didn't really carry to the cabin we had. However, the service in the Roadhouse bar/restaurant was exceptionally friendly, the meals were generous and the beer prices reasonable. We enjoyed a good evening.
Border Village is just on the SA side of the SA/WA border and uses the eclectic "Australian Central Western Standard time" (along with 3 locations on South eastern WA) which is 45 minutes out from both standard WA or SA time - a curiosity in itself.
Petrol (unleaded) was a horrendous $2.23/litre - so we came equipped with a full jerry can that had been filled at Ceduna.
Fair value for money for where it is.

Thank you for taking the time to write us a review Paul; we're happy to hear you enjoyed your time at our restaurant. In relation to your comment on our WiFi, our overnight guests are presented with a voucher code at check-in, which provides additional data and service coverage, and we apologise if there was any mix-up during your stay. We try to keep our fuel pricing fair and reasonable, and we're sorry if we did not match your expectations. We wish you a safe onward journey and hope to see you again.

The cabins are great, not so the Family motel rooms. We stayed in a cabin on our way across the Nullabor then were intending to stay in a Family Room on our way back but swapped as soon as we saw how basic it was. The cabin has everything you need - kettle, toaster, full kitchen & utensils, big fridge / freezer, tv and the air con worked very well. It was spotlessly clean. Dinner at the 'pub' / roadhouse was excellent each time we stayed with plenty of variety and at a fair price. It has a nice bar if you feel like a yarn and a beverage. The pool was a nice surprise & great for a quick refresh after a day on the long road. In the cabin itself the bed is small and not very comfortable. The linens and towels do the job but are pretty basic. A hand towel in the bathroom would be nice. It's not the Hilton but given it's location its very good.
Disliked · The Family motel rooms were not good. Very basic, smelly, tiny fridge. We swapped to a cabin as soon as we saw it and the cabins are great.

We booked a room for our family of three to “rest” for the night after a long trip across from WA. We had a BEAUTIFUL meal at the roadhouse being fish and chips, and the mixed Grill. Our room was clean and tidy and the shower was AMAZING (we also restricted our showertime to less than 2 minutes ) as anyone with common sense would realise this place is in the middle of nowhere and water doesn’t appear magically like our “city cousins” think it does! The beds were better than our own at home and we have no complaints. Keep up the great work to the team that run this place, because without it then some travellers would realise how hard it is to cross the Nullabor without these type of amenities. 10/10

Very good price for what you are getting considering this motel is in then middle of nowhere. The rooms are quite small however. The roadhouse is quite expensive due to the remoteness of the location and fuel prices are usually above 200 cents a litre. Great place to stopover if you are travelling across the Nullabor. The water pressure is actually decent considering the remoteness. However, there were very few power sockets and we had to unplug the television in order to charge our 4 devices.

We stopped at Border Village Resort for a night on the way west and a night on the way back. Hence we had 2 different room types.
On the way west had a disability room which was basic in the living area but well equipped in the bathroom area. Two single beds with limited seating and nowhere for laptop usage except on your lap on the bed. Shower was fine and the room was quiet
On the way east had a double room with a queen bed, with a desk and single chair. Again the room was quiet and the shower was also suitable. Parking for both rooms was outside the room enabling easy transfer of luggage.
Check in is at the roadhouse and opens according to the Central Western Time Zone which is universally observed from the Border Village through just east of Caiguna. The zone is UTC+8:45. The Village’s website has more information about this, for us, an unexpected time zone.
The Village has a reception/check in area, a bar, dining and shop areas. We had meals on both occasions in the dining area. Had Roast of the day, pork one day beef the other - which was well cooked, generous serves of vegetables and copious gravy! Service was prompt and courteous in all our interactions with the staff from reception through to waiters.
Notable is the spectacular 2016 mural in the dining area by Pam Armstrong featuring aspects of the Southern Ocean just a few minutes away. The store carries the obligatory souvenirs, top up food stuffs and mechanical essentials.
The Village is worth staying at as the costs are reasonable, the property quiet, and rooms comfortable although on the basic side. Generally I would say that the majority of those booked are one nighters either to or from Western Australia.
Return? When travelling to the west again would probably stay the night to break the long journey from Ceduna to Norseman.

Stayed 5 days due to fires.
Great staff, cold beer and good food.
Read some reviews from some real wankers, probably international tourists who think they are travel writers.
Probably the best equipped stop on the Eyre Highway.
Accommodation is comfortable with air con, heater, hot water, TV and comfy bed.
Even had washing facilities and enough room in the caravan park to swing a road train.
Prices a little higher because the guys run a huge generator 24/7 just in case someone pops in for a feed and fuel.
Backpackers.....you are in the middle of the harshest country you have ever seen. Be prepared to pay a little more for you needs.
Congratulations guys and thank you for your hospitality.

These were the words used by the shop assistant when we advised him we had ordered and paid for large takeaway coffees when we received small dine in cups of coffee. Great service - Not. Bacon and eggs were lovely but very disappointed with the coffee and attitude.

Stayed one night while traveling over nullabor. 120 dollars for cabin which was pretty standard for area but carpet wasnt clean and air con a bit fierce! Bathroom was new and a good size and there was a little verandah with chairs outside.
Would have been nice to have a bedside table and lamp as the main light was a very bright strip light.
Pool area was nice and had a shaded area to sit.
Good choice of food in evening and I can defintely recommend the roast lamb which came with 6 types of vegetables which was a lovely change from chips.
Main concern is that international credit cards don't seem to work with their card machine so you need cash with you or have to get out of the cash point there which is expensive!
Overall a decent stop off point and more facilities than the nullabor roadhouse which is further on as you go east.

They have a website, try that.
Hey Chris, we sure do! Jump onto our website to book or give a a call on (08) 9039 3474. See you then!
Hi Lynnn,
Sorry, we were travelling with two house-trained friends who had their opwn room so we can't tell you about pet accommodation. Try giving them a 'phone call!
You can contact the Roadhouse directly to book the accommodation. I would suggest you reserve a cabin with En-suite as it is away from the road and hotel / restaurant noise. The cabins are really comfortable and very clean. Google or find contact details through Tripadvisor.
