My wife & I stayed at Eskaya for 5 nights in April 2022. And whilst there are some positives there are a number of large negatives that people should be aware of before booking. On the positive side, the hotel's design is lovely (albeit dated); the team are very friendly and really try their best, the chef is clearly very talented - the food quality was very good and probably best of all is the location - Eskaya is located slightly up from the beach and is incredibly peaceful, a perfect place to relax. Unfortunately there are a number of negatives which really do make this a very over-priced resort. The rooms are well designed, but are very dated; each room has telephones but the telephones do not work - at all; our television was not working for 2 of the 5 nights; despite the hotel saying they offer an overnight laundry service, they do not; the water pressure in the bathroom is non-existent, to the point where the rain shower doesn't work; there is no hot water in the rooms; there were two lights in the bedroom that could not be turned off at night (at all); many of the staff were not wearing masks; there are regular brown-outs - but the generator can take up to 20 minutes to start; for 3 days there were no cold drinks available; a pre-booked tour guide wasn't allowed into the resort on one day to collect us, despite a tour guide being allowed in the previous day; there was no manager on duty to talk to after 5pm. The team at the resort are very friendly and I feel sorry for them. My biggest complaint is that there is a complete lack of management at the hotel. During our stay we did not see a manager of any type once. The team are lovely but very few are trained. If you go to other hotels nearby, South Palms you can see a big difference, despite South Palms being half the price. This resort has the potential to be stunning, but it needs a complete change of management.…
Let me start by saying the place is beautiful and does offer privacy. Caveat- choose your villa well. Villa 15 is lovely, while 10 looks out into the kitchen and you can smell what everyone will be having. Villa 10 was just unkempt- TV, ref and safety deposit box weren’t working. No cups, glasses, etc. Overall, the place is in need of a good manager. Attention to detail and going the extra mile, which you would expect from a pricey and supposedly upscale place is non existent. We arrived at 1pm, clearly the place was empty but front desk still insisted on a 2pm check in. There was a welcoming committee but not even a cold towel or drink. Sent several emails to confirm details of our stay but this was still not clear upon check in. Ordered room service Thursday, dishes weren’t collected until Sunday. The beach is neglected. Deck chairs are dirty and just plopped down, no towels, no service. No tours offered. You’re pretty much left to figure things out on your own once you check in. Shuttle service pretty non existent as well. Booked one for 2pm, it arrived at 3 with no apologies. Agree with another reviewer who said it felt deserted more than private. Restaurant staff was nice but quite clueless. Food was okay. All of this would have been ok if it didn’t bill and price itself as premium. Clearly adjustments need to be made.…
Eskaya is one of the resort i had in my bucket list..... so when we decided to spend our much awaited vacation for this year..... we are very much expecting so much from this resort....unfortunately, it wasnt the vacation we were hoping for...... Poor service..... Room is not well kept..... and yes...we have an unwanted visitor.... a mouse!!!! It is not worth the price we paid for 3 nights and 4 days..... surrounding premises not well maintained.... and beach area is super dirty...... what a disappointment..... Please do not spend your money here.....learned from us.... No rating for this resort...as in negative!!!!
My husband and I decided to celebrate our 8th year anniversary in Eskaya, I would say that our experience was traumatic… When we booked Eskaya, we received a call from them asking who we are, from where we are, what business do we have and I personally find it so rude. Why do Eskaya need to ask for our whereabouts? Is it because we are local? And that we are not Artista???!! We already made the payment of 60k plus for two nights so it was impossible for us to cancel it, so we push through with the stay. During our stay, in fairness, the staff were friendly and the chef at the restaurant is really a good cook 👍 Kudos to that!!! However, our concern was that, we were supposed to have our anniversary shoot and I needed a makeup artist. (Only 1 makeup artist) they didn’t allow her to get in. So what we did was we opened another hotel near Eskaya and we had our makeup done there!! Pretty stupid, I was really trying to compose myself and remain calm because I don’t want to ruin my day. Eskaya could have allotted a space for visitors if they don’t want them to enter the villas. Their policies really sucks! And it’s inconvenient. We will never again go back to Eskaya!!! We had stayed in Burj Al Arab last 2018 during our 5th year anniversary, they are one of the most expensive hotels in the world, but they don’t treat guest like eskaya did!!! They’re not even strict with visitors… we had friends and families invited for dinner to celebrate with us. Seriously, we didn’t have a good time. My husband was pissed off because of Eskaya policies! And he kept on blaming me why we stayed in Eskaya. So basically, the anniversary celebration was not a happy one! HOPE YOU ARE HAPPY AND PROUD OF WHAT YOU DID ESKAYA! Also. They didn’t even have a complimentary cake or roses on the bed…. No effort at all Eskaya In addition to that, they transferred us to another room Room #17 on the 2nd day since our 1st room’s AC is not working and their phones are not working. They had to call the IT 🤦🏼♀️ Their pillows are not soft too in Room#16. Their master bedroom is quite small and there is no comfort room. We had to go outside passed by the room sala to pee on midnight. Also, there’s a lot of mosquitoes 🦟…
Ezkaya is a must-see place for couples and families who want privacy and exclusivity without having to lock yourself in the villa just to get that. The beach, pool, and outdoor amenities and private villas exude natural and simple elegance. It is sp beautiful witjout trying to hard. To top it off, the people in Ezkaya are all smiles making the stay just so peaceful and easy and relaxed. That is what a vacation is all about. Thank you Ezkaya!!
