The Eskaya experience means getting pampered all throughout your stay that by the time you have to go, you wouldn't actually want to leave. It truly was one of the best tropical vacations I've had. Ever.

1. Service

One of the many amazing things about Eskaya is the service. All staff members were warm, polite, and always alert. There are times when you don't even have to ask, they just instinctively provide what you need with much enthusiasm. In the afternoon, a staff member would be at our door and give us complimentary snacks (delicious local delicacies). When we inquired about the usage of kayak, they gave us the time when it will be high tide and when we got to the beach at the designated time, everything was already arranged for us, we really just had to hop on the kayak. But for me, the best part was the massage at the Handuraw Spa. It was just beyond amazing. And this is coming from a person who regularly gets a massage.

2. Villa

The deluxe villa looks so beautiful--from the high wooden ceiling to the outdoor showers and jacuzzi. It was just everything I could ever ask for in a romantic getaway! There's an infinity pool in which we can swim in silence after spending hours at the beach. There's a balcony, which I gotta say is my favorite part, with two comfortable beds from where you can view the sea in quiet contemplation. And if you just want to chill or watch TV in the room, you can borrow DVDs from the front desk.

3. Location and Amenities

Eskaya is barely a 5-minute drive from the Tagbilaran airport and sits on a nice spot on the beach with white sand and clear waters. There are a lot of activities to do in the resort, just check out the stuff in the front desk and you'll never run out of things to do. The stuff provided for in the villa were more than sufficient. Even rubber slippers (aside from the customary bedroom slippers) as well as a beach bag were provided.

Eskaya is a really beautiful resort but what I liked best about it is that the whole place is quiet. It's like we were the only ones there. It's just perfect for a vacation away form the hustle and bustle of the metro.

Nice and quiet resort, far enough from the bustle and hassle of Alona beach but close enough to enjoy their restaurants and shopping. The chef at Eskaya is excellent, every dish was perfect, especially Filipino cuisine. The staff was caring and attentive, especially Herbert looked after us extremely well. Very profesional and service oriented. Our daughter wasn’t feeling well and they were ready to arrange medical care in the middle of Easter holidays, which is the most important religious holiday in the country so only ER in Tagbilaran was open. Herbert and his colleagues were super nice, they took care of every wish we had. If you use a tricycle to take you to Alona Beach, we highly recommend Allan Bongo, just tell the staff at Eskaya and he’ll be waiting for you at the gate. We were very pleased and happy with our holidays.

Overall good experience. Very private and relaxing, which is good because we don’t like crowded places and everyone are very welcoming and kind. However few concerns:

1. Food choices are limited and overpriced, food for me tastes 6/10
2. Housekeeping failed to throw the garbage out, also did not fix our beds (for 2 nights), but they cleaned the dining area and refilled the bottled waters, so am not sure what happened there
3. We did not like how we were responded in emails, answers were too short and vague. Sounded to us that our requests were not being heard or just brushed off
4. There should be a buzzer from the beach area to call on the servers because it’s a bit far to call the server from the resto just to ask for water or just wait for someone to pass by

Definitely NOT recommending this resort to anyone. We feel pitty for the staff who have not been supervised and managed well because they receive all the complaints and frustrations from guests.

The facilities were not maintained, showers, bidet, and restrooms don't give you such comfort. Another terrible experience was when we were told we can order in-room dining, but later, another staff refused to grant our request because we can only eat in the dinner buffet where the options are not our preference. So we had to ride a toktok (public transpo in bohol) to go to the city and buy food. Breakfast food were so-so. Few options. Even had a small strand of hair on the egg, told the staff, but no action was made.

Staff do not coordinate with guests requests.

Unless the management does something to improve the facilities and services, train their staff on how to handle guest requests, I don't think this resort will stand another year.

- Staff Attitude: The staff was not accommodating and often refused to assist with requests.

- Room Maintenance: The rooms were not well-maintained. I noticed issues such as [bedit, some showers are not functioning, and hair strands on the bed].

- The quality of the service and accommodation, I felt that the experience did not justify the price.

- The food provided was not satisfactory. The meals were bland and not up to standard.

You pay a fortune for nothing. Entrance missed, reception with toilet smell, very ugly, dirty and smelly beach, we spent time on the beach of the adjacent resort, aliSouth corporation a three star hotel better organized than what they call 5 star. Postcard beach, excellent food and excellent massages at a third of the price of Eskaya. The masseuse in the spa was absolutely incompetent, perhaps it was the first massage given in a season. In fact, the price of the massage was out of the market but I wanted to try it because I thought it was worth it. One day I asked who the manager was, realizing that many things were wrong, the answer was: we don't have one. In fact you can see, we had to pray for them to make room for us, plants full of coconuts and not even one served at the restaurant. Better to spend little in a three star hotel, this is truly a joke.

The worst resort you can possibly stay in Panglao. Rented 3 villas for our stay in December priced at about $800 per night. No amenities except for an outdated pool with a non-functional pool bar. Flat pillows, rooms need updating- some lights not working, leak stain marks on the ceiling, a rat on top of the ceiling waking us up in the middle of the night. Terrible service, most of the items on the menu are not available such as fruits which you can easily find on the market.

We came for a honeymoon, 3 nights private pool villa. The property area full of trash, room stinks of old wood smell, no hot water in shower. Ants cobwebs and the top - frog and snake inside the room. Staff are rude and unhelpful, didn’t try for a moment to make us feel better and enjoy the vacation. We had to leave after one night and asked for refund for the rest 2 nights and the hotel answer was they don’t have refund in there exists policies! no money refund. Run away.

Very terrible room and service for usd 1300 per nights. The room we got is totally different from Expedia (sofa beds in living room vs. single beds in loving room). The GM and staff refused to offer any help, but asked us to coordinate with Expedia ourselves. Plus, we made the booking (non refundable) and then got email for "compulsory" nye dinner of usd 170 per person. The service attitude is "patient but useless", and GM basically said they dunt care about social media reviews. The entire experience is very disappointing and I'm feeling cheated / trapped. Plus: not fresh breakfast, nobody wants to use the so called private beach, and out of toilet paper / tower with no change until called.

Beautiful location. Friendly staff... and then it’s all down hill from there. Poor communication among staff. They don’t have clear management chain. When ordering food we were told that the meat order did not come in so we could not order meat dishes. They didn’t have wines listed on the wine list. Basic requests for towels, napkins, water and other things were not fulfilled. Complete disarray with their Spa services. Three of us received the worst massages we ever had.

Sorry I don’t how much they charging for all including. But we paid 15K pesos = $300 for 6 days for lunch and dinner at the restaurant there. Just letting you know that we all the time order deserts and a lot of food lol . You can manage with much less there:) You won’t regret your choice of the hotel !
