Stayed here 3 nights as part of our honeymoon trip. It’s surrounded with tropical greenery and even have their own herb garden.

The walk via the pool and down to the private beach is beautiful. Hammocks, outside massage areas and beach swings all make for this perfect idyllic setting on the white sand beach.

The staff are the most helpful and friendly and helped us in every way to make our stay perfect.

We are at the restaurant all x3 nights. The fish is fresh and the menu is extensive without compromising on taste or quality.

I loved my stay here. It reminded me of a health retreat without the inflated prices.

Thank you everyone at Amarela x

What a gorgeous little hotel this is. The traditional wooden architecture in the airy main building is gorgeous, with the dining room balcony overlooking the stunning gardens, beautiful infinity pool and a glimpse of the white beach beyond. From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel special by the first class team of staff there. The friendly, welcoming owners, Lukas and Ludici and the staff, Sander, Rocky, JP, Lukas, Jane, the kitchen team, our lovely housekeeper Tofer, our driver, Kim, Caryl, Anne and Joan at the front desk, the lovely security guards and the attentive hardworking gardeners all helped make our stay so enjoyable and memorable. We spent 6 nights in a first floor deluxe room which was very comfortable with a great view over the gardens and pool. Everywhere was spotlessly clean and well looked after. The bed linen and towels were excellent and the toiletries provided smelled lovely. We ate well at breakfast and dinner - I particularly enjoyed the omelettes and fresh fruit.
Unfortunately it rained quite a bit during our stay but we enjoyed watching films from the vast dvd movie library.
We were honoured to be invited to the staff thanksgiving party hosted by Lukas and Ludici, where we enjoyed the delicious Filipino buffet and had fun playing party games and watching the dances and sketches each team had prepared.
We really felt privileged during our stay at Amarela - it’s a special place with a team of lovely staff. Thank you for looking after us so well.

Amarela was everything we hoped for in a beach boutique hotel. It exuded a homey atmosphere, oozed old world charm, intimacy, peacefulness, comfort and cultural authenticity. The grounds are pretty and well maintained. Quite unique was the showcase of curated Bohol artwork from the owners in a gallery available for viewing. The staff were friendly but unobtrusive, and the service reliable. We had a wonderful experience during our five day stay. Each morning we had a lovely view of the sunrise on the Bohol sea courtesy of our wrap around balcony. The hotel’s beachfront location is certainly a plus with sufficient privacy accorded to guests sunning on the loungers. There is a public beach three or four properties down but that did not detract from the property. We really loved the artwork all over the hotel, the extensive book, video and parlor game library , including a collection of Philippine coffee table books on art, architecture, history, travel and culture. We admired the wood furniture and unique architectural salvages from old homes incorporated into their decor. Their food offering is varied, and not chefy. Breakfast options were delicious and generously portioned. The poeperty’s location is 2 miles or so to historic Baclayon Church and the must-visit Bohol Bee Farm. They are able to arrange trips all over Bohol, at your convenience. Overall, we were so pleased with Amarela Resort and were actually quite sad to leave.

If you like a quiet resort, where you can truly relax, where all the staff are courteous, the service is excellent (11 out of 10 as far as I am concerned) has it's own private beach and most important, away from the crowds...this is the place for you. It has a homey vibe with it's own art gallery, a library, and if the beach isn't your thing, they have a pool adequate enough to accommodate the guests (I think they have less than 30 rooms) Their menu and breakfast (included in the room rate) is adequate and food is delicious. My family (wife and 2 kids) stayed here for 2 nights and got 2 rooms. We loved it so much that we plan to return, same time next year.

We arrived in Philippines on 25th of February 2023. Moved around between islands and hotels. But when we came to Amarela Resort we very quickly felt that this is the place to stay for some extra days. So we spent 6 nights here. Why? Well, it is close to all the adventutes you might wanna explore. Then the hotel itself is extrordinary! Good rooms (superior with sea view balcony). Pool, great beach access with quite ok reefs if you’re a snorkler. It will take you a couple of hundred meters swimming but it’s worth it! And snorkling gear is included so you don’t need to think about that. The personnel is great! Very friendly and proffesional! Started talking about fishing with one of the waitors and he invited me to join on fishing (on his free time). I accepted immediately! The breakfast and a la carte in their restaurant is VERY good! Worked our way through maybe 15 different dishes without any disappontment. And if you ask any waitor about the food they know so much! They told me that they are trained in the kitchen, together with the chefs, so they can answer almost all your questions immediately. Very impressing!! The hotel garden, with all trees and flowers is also so nice! And don’t miss the art gallery! A real success!!! ❤️

Exceptional service, from check in to table service. They go the extra mile from telling you the best places to fish and showing you the largest gecko in the house when they see you taking photos of the ones in the dining area. Rooms, comfortable and clean and they have a more notable eco- recycling initiative then many. The food at dinner was very.
,very good. Went local with Boho Express vegetables, Seafood kare kare and prawns in coconut sauce and meat for dinner. All were a mouth watering treat. Their calamere was fresh, crisp and beautifully fried. The resort us very nicely oresented on a slopes with loverly pool going down to the beach. We'll worth a couple of days stay at least.

The staff arranged free pick up and drop off at the airport. The resort is about a 10 minute walk from the main road but not that much around. The staff can arrange a tricycle to take you to Alona.

The rooms were clean. The grounds are beautiful and the beach lovely though depending on the tide not much water to dive into. They have an extensive video and book library which came in handy for the rainy day we had there.

The front desk was very helpful in arranging tours.

Maby this hotel was in The 1980 the place to be but really not anymore.
We stayed for 3 nights and every day I wish that I was home not here.
Food and mostly of the employees are not good.
The internet was not 1 days good working!
We stayed in the best most expensive room and still it was smelling like all the people who stayed before the linnen was smelling and the bathroom was smelling like …..fill in by yourself

I have to start by complimenting the really excellent service. In particular Lani and Caryl at the front desk and Sander in the restaurant.

The hotel helped arrange food around our early mornings and late nights; booked tours for us; supported us in transfers for our arrival and onward travel and more. They were really very generous. Moreover, the tours they arranged were fantastic - especially the sea tour and the countryside tour - both of which I really recommend.

The property is lovely, with a very short walk to the beach, pretty and well-maintained pool and a relaxing restaurant.

We stayed here for 3 nights. It was very good experience. Buffet breakfast was my favorite, they have several choices. I like the welcome drink too. We will visit this place again in 2021🙏
During our stay, through true hotel, we booked a full body massage for two, it was another very good experience. Then we decided to visit the bee farm, the hotel contacted a tricycle to bring us to the place and took us back to the resort. I like this resort because is not too big, so therefore it’s not crowded.
Also, the free shuttle pick up from Tagbilaran Bohol and return to the airport , was included to our room rate.

They can arrange all of this in the hotel. They have city tours and boating too. We came from Cebu as well. We asked Amarela to get our tickets in advance so we can avail the advance booking discounts in Oceanjet/Supercat ferry. They charge 10-15% i think for the service fee but its more convenient that way. I travelled with my whole family (including nephews and niece) so it kinda secure our seats on the schedule we want.
