Isis Bungalows is a resort hotel in Panglao Island, Bohol Province in Central Philippines. The resort, which opened in 2005, is under Swiss supervision and boasts of affordable but world-class room accommodations and a spacious, refine, thai and filipino restaurant with a panoramic view of the sea.The resort is located right on the beach of Alona Beach, away from the traffic and the disco. The warm sea is our swimming pool.Isis Bungalows is definitely the place for those who want to experience the sun, the sand and the sea - the best that Panglao Island has to offer at that price.

Started with confusion about airport transfer. No one at airport to pick us up. No one mentioned that the transport can only drop you off some 200m away. You need to walk (with your bags) along a sandy track to the place. The place is a house of horrors! Dark, dingy, filthy and depressing. The photos on the web are at least 15 years old and heavily photoshopped. We had booked 2 double rooms for 4 people One of our group dropped off at the last minute, so the receptionist tried to crowd the 3 of us into 1 room (with an extra bed). The so called deluxe double was directly in front of the restaurant/bar and next to the kitchen. For privacy there was a curtain behind glass doors. Needless to say we left after 5 minutes and checked in elsewhere. This place is a complete scam!!! Fellow Traveller

I made a booking through agoda just few days ago in this hotel, I got confirmation from agoda and yet accdg to the lady I corresponded with through messenger (their number in their website can't be reach) that they haven't receive any notification from agoda about my booking for Apr. 18 to 22, 2022, which is odd. I've been messaging them about my transportation problem on the 19th cause I'll arrive late in Cebu airport at almost 6pm then I have to take a taxi to peir 1 to catch a ferry or boat to take me to Tagbilaran or Panglao, it was soooo disappointing bcoz the reply I got was "3000p". Not even thanking me for my booking or any greetings atleast, I felt they are very unhelpful & arrogant, I'm very disappointed. So I why should I spend a single peso in this UNHELPFUL & ARROGANT hotel? Of course, I opted to cancel my booking with them & stay somewhere else. If you don't want my money, then don't.😏 P.S. I curse at the end cause I have to repeat my self several times & they said that I have to make a deposit which is not mention in agoda's conditions.

The location is nice and the restaurant downstairs is pretty good. The room was ok, but the bathroom had a constant bad odor and shower area is in bad condition. The bed had only a sheet, no blanket. A/C worked fine but a little loud. I didn’t find the staff very friendly. I would stay elsewhere next time.

My little family and I loved it here. It will not be for everyone as it does not have luxury facilities but what it lacks in this area it makes up with a 5* view, location and charm.Very good value for money and the staff were so friendly and great with children and babies. We were lucky enough to stay on the top floor for New Years Eve and our balcony had a great view of the beach fireworks. We will come and stay again for sure.

It’s really a shame, if the manager invest more time and staff , can be one of the best place in Alona beach , but it’s not like this , the rooms are behind of the Thai restaurant really good restaurant , and the area is full of foranger people from another hotels , plus the noise from the staff within the empty bottles, garbage and and and ... so don’t recommend at all .

I had very low expectations because of the mixed reviews and honestly a little worried about another “expectations vs reality” scenario. When we arrived, we were all pleasantly surprised because the room and whole place looked exactly (or even better) than in the photos. Our room was HUGE, very clean with 2 large beds, a large bathroom, great ocean views, and a terrace. It was so nice! Upon entering the front office, the staff on duty had already prepared the forms and we got to check in early! (10 or 11am?) The beach in front of the property was clean and well maintained, and it was indeed at the “more peaceful” part of alona. (But we ended up always going to the busy parts of alona because the beach there was so much wider and had more options for food/drink.) The restaurant though is super expensive for the amount and quality of food they serve. Food is okay but not amazing. At night they have a barbecue and if you’re on a budget and lazy to go anywhere else, have the php 60 hotdog/chorizo or the php 200 liempo. Because one palm sized fish is php 450 and above, one large crab (alimango) is php 1000-1900. Fried rice is php220 or ONE serving good for 1person (according to the wait staff)- actually good but inwish it was less oily. Service is fast and they have so many friendly wait staff around. Loved the little kids serenading with ukeleles. PROs Large, clean room & bathroom Beautiful view Easy hassle free check in (booked through agoda) Friendly staff Clean, well maintained beach Peaceful part of alona Accessible Restaurant downstairs CONS No laundry service (because their website says that they have, also no iron to borrow at the resort) You’ll have to walk 50-100 meters from the drop off point to the resort (not too bad) Very expensive restaurant Small beach area Overall an amazing experience and would probably stay there again if ever we get to visit panglao island next time. Would i go back? YES Recommend to family and friends? YES

Stayed here for four nights with family — (+) - fast internet (wifi) wasn’t expecting this but yes connection is reliable - arrived early and since our room is ready we were allowed to check-in (it was around 10am when we arrived) - nice room — you will get what you see in the actual photos posted in this page - friendly staff — one helped arranged our transpo from Isis to San Augustine church - nice view of the beach - good location Possible cons (-) - might not for you if you don’t like walking. From alona you would have to walk for probably about 1km (personaly don’t mind the walk) - water gets turned off at some parts of the day (not sure if it’s the sane with the other places to stay but i guess they are trying to conserve it. You can request to have it turned on incase you need to use the toilet in earlier than 5am) - rooms are not auto cleaned when you leave it for the day. You have to tell mgmt if you want to have your room cleaned. - no phones (landline) inside the room - laundry service has some limitations (i think they don’t iron your clothes or something...)
