Isis Bungalows is a resort hotel in Panglao Island, Bohol Province in Central Philippines. The resort, which opened in 2005, is under Swiss supervision and boasts of affordable but world-class room accommodations and a spacious, refine, thai and filipino restaurant with a panoramic view of the sea.The resort is located right on the beach of Alona Beach, away from the traffic and the disco. The warm sea is our swimming pool.Isis Bungalows is definitely the place for those who want to experience the sun, the sand and the sea - the best that Panglao Island has to offer at that price.

Detailed Reviews
I have been to Alona about 8 times and have stayed at most of the places on the beach so hopefully this will be informative. Isis bungalows are near the end of Alona beach and only accessible via a short walk down the beach (about 50 meters) from where the beach road ends at lost horizon.
Contrary to some of the posts here I find the staff VERY friendly and helpful. It is a small place with about 16 rooms total. I find the location to be possibly the best of any hotel on Alona. No it is not the most convenient but if you like to walk out of your room and into the beautiful palm gardens and beach, this is the place.
One thing that was mentioned was the security of the doors. The bungalows that are deluxe or family rooms have sliding doors (as opposed to the basic rooms which have doors) and they are very hard to lock. I did have problems locking my door on one occasion but still left my ipod in the room because I felt it was 100% safe. The standard room doors ironically are solid as a rock secure.
The price of this place 2000p for standard 3000 for deluxe are some of the best prices on the beach. The rooms have ice-cold aircon and updated televisions and nice clean bathrooms. The beds are typical for Alona but they are not Euro or American style mattresses. They DO NOT take any creditcards. This has been true for over a year so I assume it is going to stay that way. Why I have no idea.
To the person who complained about the staff cleaning the room without asking I would say are you kidding me???
Lastly the Thai restaurant infront has great food (although some is hit and miss) the chicken Curry is amazing are is the fried rice dishes. (I liked the shrimp fried rice so much I had it for breakfast). However some things are priced a bit high like breakfast sides and breakfast in general.
This is one of the BEST places to sit and have a cocktail or food and relax on the beach! Much more intimate than other places closer to the heart of Alona.
PROS:
Great Thai Restaurant
Gorgeous grounds
10 meters from the beach
Cheap Lodging Prices
CONS:
Unreliable Internet
No Generator
Questionable Water (During peak and dry seasons)
No Credit Cards

My 5 friends & I stayed in Isis for 3 nights. We initially booked there because they had rooms big enough to accommodate all 6 of us and because of all the inviting pictures of the resort on their website. We were not disappointed at all; it looked exactly like it did in the pictures! This resort is literally steps away from the beach; every single morning we had our breakfast right on the sand with great views of the water that’s about 10 feet away.
The staff was very friendly and accommodating. One of my friends was having her birthday the 2nd day we were staying there and we planned on surprising her with a birthday cake that night. The resort let us keep the cake we bought from Tagbilaran (the city where the airport is) in the restaurant's fridge and somebody on their staff even brought it out to us on the beach where we were hanging out. In addition, when we asked for a second fan in the room (the a/c and a fan wasn't enough to cool the entire room - as I said before, we had one of the biggest bungalows in the resort), they immediately brought another one for us. They also changed the linens every single day, which wasn't really necessary but was definitely an added bonus. Finally, they were too nice to kick us out of the restaurant, even though it was waaay past their closing time and our group was just sitting around, not even drinking or eating anything anymore, and they still had to do their nightly clean up.
Speaking of the restaurant, their food was also quite good, I'm usually picky with my Filipino food, but the food I had there was pretty darn good! And their breakfasts are huge! There was enough food to feed 2 people.
One last thing, if you are booking transfers to and from the airport through Isis, ask for Kuya Felix, he was awesome! He was very nice, helpful and courteous.

This well-maintained resort stands out from the crowd, with freshly painted Bungalows, a Thai restaurant and umbrellas to keep you dry/shaded. The rooms are large and clean with good quality towels and bedding, hot water and cable TV too. The highlight was the location - right on Alona Beach. It is a short stroll to the white sand, where the hotel has a Thai restaurant, ideal for breakfast on the beach with a perfect view of the ocean.
What we liked:
• FREE Wi-Fi !!!
• Location - right on the beach
• Swimming - perfect spot for swimming
• Rooms - clean and spacious. The photos on their web site are accurate
What you see is what you get - no hidden fee’s or charges when checking out. The only minor negative is that they don’t have a pool. We had a great stay at Isis Bungalows and we will definitely come back. Recommended 4 Stars!!

I made a booking through agoda just few days ago in this hotel, I got confirmation from agoda and yet accdg to the lady I corresponded with through messenger (their number in their website can't be reach) that they haven't receive any notification from agoda about my booking for Apr. 18 to 22, 2022, which is odd. I've been messaging them about my transportation problem on the 19th cause I'll arrive late in Cebu airport at almost 6pm then I have to take a taxi to peir 1 to catch a ferry or boat to take me to Tagbilaran or Panglao, it was soooo disappointing bcoz the reply I got was "3000p". Not even thanking me for my booking or any greetings atleast, I felt they are very unhelpful & arrogant, I'm very disappointed. So I why should I spend a single peso in this UNHELPFUL & ARROGANT hotel? Of course, I opted to cancel my booking with them & stay somewhere else. If you don't want my money, then don't.😏
P.S. I curse at the end cause I have to repeat my self several times & they said that I have to make a deposit which is not mention in agoda's conditions.

Started with confusion about airport transfer. No one at airport to pick us up. No one mentioned that the transport can only drop you off some 200m away. You need to walk (with your bags) along a sandy track to the place. The place is a house of horrors! Dark, dingy, filthy and depressing. The photos on the web are at least 15 years old and heavily photoshopped. We had booked 2 double rooms for 4 people One of our group dropped off at the last minute, so the receptionist tried to crowd the 3 of us into 1 room (with an extra bed). The so called deluxe double was directly in front of the restaurant/bar and next to the kitchen. For privacy there was a curtain behind glass doors. Needless to say we left after 5 minutes and checked in elsewhere. This place is a complete scam!!!

+1
The room downstairs is nice , clean and spacious with plenty of storage and a place to hang . Bed is comfy. Bathroom is clean with hot water is a plus. Staff is friendly and accommodating. The restaurant is just a few steps from our door which is very convenient. A few steps more is the beach which is in front of the hotel. Staff is great.

isis bungalows is the place to be if you visit panglao.it has one of the best locations and what you get for your money is excellent.prices are very reasonable for what you get:
isis bungalows has the best view on the beach.i had initialy checked in another resort, but when i stroled on the beach and discovered the place,i transfered the next day without hesitation.

After reading some of the positive and negative reviews I decided to give Isis a whirl. for about 3000p / night it is one of the most reasonable locations actually on Alona beach. For me, it's all about location, especially at Alona beach. Isis is located directly on Alona beach towards the western side of the beach. All of the restaurants and bars are easily accessible and within walking distance of the Isis.
Alona beach is on the southwestern corner of Panglao. The two common ways to get to Bohol is via Tagbilaran either by fast ferry from Cebu (2 Hours) or via the Airport (Flights from Manila). Travel times to Panglao are completely dependent on traffic and time of departure. I was actually able to make it to Alona in 20min even during Holy week when there was no traffic at all. That said, be prepared to spend up to 45-50min during busy times.
If you are taking a taxi from the port you should be able to negotiate a fare for about 350-400p, although 500p is the standard fare. When heading to Isis, just tell the driver to take you to Alona Kew (the first and largest resort on Alona). Alona Kew is one of the only resorts that actually has direct road access. To get to Isis, you will have to take the Alona Kew road down to the beach where you then head off to the right and walk about 100m to get to Isis. Those whom are elderly or less mobile should note the walk as you may want assistance with your luggage due to this fact.
The Isis rooms were clean and tastefully decorated. The television was strong and the aircon was not moldy (something I detest in tropical resorts) There was also wifi available. The only complaint about the rooms at the Isis was the utter lack of any water pressure. This is a common problem in Alona and there was no exception here.
The Thai restaurant at the Isis offers something different on the beach. I did not find it over-priced or any more over-priced than any other restaurants located directly on the beach. The food was mediocre but a welcome change from the standard. The restaurant is also a great place to hang out and watch the water and the boats.
Overall it is the location that I feel is a standout of the Isis. It is directly on the beach within walking distance of everything. But it is towards the less traveled side of the beach so it is not as noisy as many of the other locations. For the price and location, there is no better in Alona.
The one complaint of the Isis is the fact that they do not accept credit cards. Reservations are a hassle and there is just no excuse for a place not to take CC for both payment and deposit. They say that this is temporary... we'll see.

The receptionist seems like she wants to punch every guest in the neck whenever they come in the mini office. She's always too busy either playing games or watching her telenovelas in the computer. She does not talk nor smile! All she gives is this blank face whenever you ask her a question. Geez. Too bad cos the rooms are really nice and clean plus the location of the resort is excellent. Ate Doris/Daisy just drags it all down.

We stayed at isis for 3 days..we have nothing but praises to this place.. the rooms are very very clean..complete amenites etc.. we love the food as well.. the best part of this is when we went to Balicasag island..we left the keys to Ms.Dang and we were informed that daily housekeeping is at 9am, we are to finish our activities during that day at 2pm..we have doubts of leaving all our valuables ( money, cellphones, mp4's) but still decided to trust the staffs..when we arrived at 2pm, the rooms are very clean again, and all our valuables intact...nowadays, that's very rare!! that is why we love the staffs there and they always greet us a pleasant "good morning"..always smiling ..very cheerful.. they are very hospitable and really accomodating, now that's what we call excellent customer service.. =) we promised to go back to bohol, and definitely will still choose to have our stay back at isis bungalows.. the rates are affordable plus the location is very nice..

Hello. I'm not sure for other rooms but the one that we booked was a deluxe bungalow. We booked through a 3rd party app and it was P6.2k for 2 nights. However, the rate of the room was P4k per night according to their staff.
Hello Erika. At what time did they turn off the lights ? Where you the only customers or there was people at some other tables as well ? Cyril
Yes we do have. Ask for room 4, 5 or 9
