The resort is very beautiful - made obvious from all of the social media photo sessions happening constantly. The staff were all very friendly and professional. The food was okay. The sand is the softest I've ever felt. My morning walks on the beach was nice. It wasn't crowded but the shore was covered with seaweed and trash that washed up. I would recommend this resort but I would stay at another resort on my next visit.

The atmosphere was relaxing and calm; it wasn’t a place to party or be up all night drinking and listening to loud music. This place is rejuvenating if you like to relax and find peace in mind and body. The music 🎶 that was played in the night fit the atmosphere; it was very soothing.

May/June 2023 - Two week stay in Premium Beachfront Room. After an unsettling first impression we enjoyed a very relaxing beachfront stay. On arrival from the TAG airport (10 minutes drive) our first impression was a crowded outdoor reception and nearby pool and beach bar jammed with people. We soon discovered that the beach bar and ocean front area allowed day visitors and Dumaluan Beach is very popular with offsite tourists and locals plus the Beach Bar 7am to 7pm 'happy hour' 50% off select drinks offer proved quite an attraction. Turned out not to be an issue really, and evident as we were led to our room. The Premium, Villa, and Pool view rooms were a several minute stroll from the main dining/pool/beach bar/reception area into a peaceful tropical oasis and with the beachfront and separate pool steps away. As soon as we entered our room we knew we made a good choice. Absolute beachfront (less than thirty paces to the water. Our patio had its own loungers and outdoor table, the beach had many loungers. hammocks, swings, and hanging beach beds to relax on. Not really a problem finding a lounger most days in the shade on the beach, if not we could always relax on our patio loungers which were shaded almost all day. We are not sunbathers. The Premium Beachfront was two separate rooms - a screened-in sitting room with fan but no a/c and the bedroom with great a/c, plus a large bathroom. Amenities included a mini fridge, unlimited bottled drinking water, light weight robes (suitable for the tropics) flip flops, bath amenities, laptop size room safe, welcome bottle of wine and a local boxed sweet treat .As in most of Asia no dresser/chest of drawers, though the armoire was suitably sized and had plenty of hangers. Room was clean, bed comfortable and proper king size, and room housekeeping service and evening refresh with turndown and more sweet treats was excellent. No worries - mostly wore swimwear and casual shirt and shorts. Dining was a decent experience. We requested a reserve table for the breakfast buffet and evenings a the main restaurant and beach bar did the same. A bit of gratuity and just being friendly to the servers and chefs paid dividends. The food in both outlets come from the same kitchen and menu. Food quality was very good with some really inventive takes on Asian, Local, and western cuisine. Breakfast was buffet with cooked to order eggs, fresh local pastries, fruits, soups, cereal, yogurt, local dishes, rice, fish - that never got boring for us, plus barista made expresso beverages included at breakfast. Evening meals were enjoyed with live acoustic music and a lively beach bar vibe. Servers and chefs remembered our drink preforances and peculiarities - the benefit of being longer stay guests. A couple of nights we walked next door to the Bohol Beach Club (BBC) for a change of menu and really were pleased with the f&b quality and service there also. The beach relaxation was our main goal - nothing more soothing than the sound of the waves so close to our room. The beach and resort have security to keep outsiders off the resort proper, including loungers etc. It is a public beach with limited access anyway, mostly beach strollers from other accommodations. The beach was very nice. The entire beachfront of the resort in shaded in mature palm trees except the huge open area for sunbathers near the Beach Bar. The beach at high tide was walkable out into the water with no sudden dropoff. The ocean area in the Premium rooms was probably the best for casual ocean entering especially for children as the water was clear and very little seagrass and rocks. Beginner snorkeling can also be done (plenty of starfish, some fish, limited coral, and plenty of sea urchins and cucumbers) from this beach area, with mask and snorkel loans free from resort. At low tide it was interesting to see the creature in the pools, starfish, and the sea urchins you almost stepped on during high tide. Tip: stay away from the rocks and seagrass. The beach was cleaned several times a day to minimize the sea grass washing on the sand. Overall the resort was maintained very well with tropical plants, bamboos, flower beds and properly trimmed palm trees, Even the sandy area away from the beach was raked daily. We enjoyed the fitness room (small but well equipped), and played on the pool table most evenings,.Kayak and paddle boards available with a 1/2 hour time limit, as was tennis both table and court. The property itself is like two separate wings - the garden rooms and basic seafront rooms are located south of the reception and the Premium, Pool view & Villa to the north. The issue with the 'southern' 'wing is rather large and sometimes noisy construction project adjacent to South Palms. The units are also physically located further from the beach and pools. Other than that they would have the great service level and everything else South Palms offered. The northern wing is closer to the BBC resort which sometimes hosted large events but the music always ended before 10 pm. We enjoyed the BBC proximity as noted we dined there several nights. On several occasions we were lounging on our room's huge seafront patio and other guests of South Palms approached us to enquire quizzically was this the same resort as they were in. Of course choice of rooms are usually budget driven but it was thoroughly worth the price for the Premium Beachfront room imho. We visited the South Palm Farm, a separate property. This was a functioning farm with produce, fruit, fish ponds, and livestock. There was a rabbit warren/petting area and feeding stations for other livestock, pony rides, and a fishing pond. Only the fishing pond (you catch and they cook!) and the small cafe on the lake requires an additional fee. There were also nice shaded pavilions to enjoy the countryside. Other reviewers made insinuations of animal abuse and neglect. Having grown up in agriculture and livestock we did not see anything remotely suggesting mistreatment. The Farm tour is included with your stay and transport is via a jeepney vehicle, a uniquely Philippine experience itself. Considering the farm also provided for work during Covid pandemic for displaced resort workers overall it appeared to be a positive endeavor. I must give a 'shout-out' to all the staff of South Palms: groundskeepers, beach cleaners, our excellent housekeepers, food and beverage staff, reception for a job well done and special thanks to F&B staff Gemil, Joel, Jeremiah, Neil, Jed, Kim, Chef Warren, Chef Hjessica, and reception staff Honey and Charm for their outstanding hospitality. Beach is one of the best in Panglao. Rooms are a good size and clean. Food is okay, could use improvement like include more local food since that is what tourists would want to try during their time in the resort, breakfast buffet was good and many choices. Pools could use updating, the design is very old fashioned and the pool in the front by the beach is too small. There is a risk of enduring extra noise in the deluxe beachfront rooms because weddings are held in that area.

Loved our stay here. We stayed in the 2 bedroom suite. Stayed with 2 kids. The rooms are not modern but adequate and clean. The beach is nice, white sand and very wide. Food is great too plus the service of the staff. The pools are somehow warm. Will be back here if we have a chance.

We stayed at this beautiful resort last year to celebrate my nephew's 3rd birthday for 2 nights and 3 days. As far as I remember, we availed the discounted rates during Travel Expo in SMX. All of our requests were granted especially the simple birthday set up when we arrived. The room , beddings and CR are great, except for the location of the assigned room/villa everything is perfect. I informed that we have 2 senior citizens prior to booking, we were expecting rooms nearer to the restaturant. But, we really enjoyed our stay especially the buffet breakfast and "calmly" atmosphere at the resort, the staff are polite and acommodating too. I recommend this place to my firends and give a chance, we will definitely stay again at this resort.
