Exellent location (15 minutes from the airport to the hotel lobby), wonderful beach, nice rooms, and friendly staff make South Palms a real winner. From last-minute tour requests to attending to my son’s jellyfish stings, South Palm’s friendly staff delivered. Room for improvement? The restaurant could offer simpler food with less spin or flair ala Bohol Beach Club.

Dear Mojie, Greetings from all of us here in South Palms Resort! What a great way to start a beautiful day here in paradise. Reading through your comments put a smile on our faces. Thank you so much for inspiring us. We are beyond happy whenever we received compliments from the people who brought us together, our valued guests. Your son is the bravest to have overcome the jellyfish sting. Hopefully, it will not hinder him to go swimming at the beach on his next visit. Please extend our regards to him as well. Moreover, your kind recommendation on our food options are well taken care of. We will surely look into this matter for our next food offerings. Once again, thank you so much. We can't wait to see you again for another Bohol beach holiday should be. Yours in hospitality, MARY CHARMAINE B. GEÑOSO Front Office Manager

south palm is a beachfront resort, what a paradise! beach is white powdery sands, clean, lots of beautiful palm trees. i loved this secluded place, the quietness and peacefulness of the resort. enjoy the sound of the waves, the sounds of nature 😊 the villa has a direct beach access, spacious rooms, comfy bed. the mattress is firm enough and yet soft. complete toiletries with 2 bathrobes. water pressure was good with hot and cold. aircondition is good. has live band at nigth and free use of kayak. over all the experience was great ,a perfect place to unwind and relax. very accommodating staff.

Staff were attentive to our needs, the food is excellent, the rooms are mostly beachfront and clean and so are the resort facilities. The beach has white sand as Bora thus if you are looking for a quieter version of Caticlan, this is the option. We truly enjoyed our family vacation in this hotel! Kudos to the staff and management.

This is my third Bohol trip. The first 19 years ago and stayed at the Bohol Beach Club & then the last one was at Amorita so for full context, I have stayed at the Alona beachside and the quieter side of Bohol. This trip was with a group of friends. We were 15 and booked 5 rooms. What we liked: -The beach- clean, the water is calm, sand is fine. A lot of sunbeds. Even when the resort was packed, there were enough for everyone. Beautiful and wide shoreline. You don't get this in Alona. -Location-away from Alona so you don't get the crowded vibe -Food- we liked everything we tried. Our favorites were the pork skewers, four-cheese pizza, spicy quid, and cocktails were cheap during happy hour! -Birthday balloons & cake for our celebrants. I called them to have this setup for 3 of our friends and they gave it free of charge. This is well-appreciated. -The bed & pillows were good. Not the best but they were of good quality. -Spa by the cabana was great! It was an open outdoor cabana so you could hear the waves and when you open your eyes, it gives you a beutiful view of the sea in front of you. The massage therapists were also good. As someone who have tried diffrent spas, I can say that qaulity of massage was exemplary. It was one of our favorite experiences of the trip. -There was a water station by the beach area- this was a nice touch. -Staff. They were obviously overworked but they were helpful, friendly. Mervin was our favorite server. What needs improvement: -Service. In general, nothing felt personal. No welcome drinks, no personal touches. There was also no turn-down service. If you have been to other local resorts like Discovery properties, Shangrila, Amorita, or any other proper resorts, you would feel the difference. This is ok if you got the regular rooms & you got them for a special rate- but if you paid for the beachfront rooms and paid over $200 for a night, I would expect more personal service. -No free shuttle to Alona beach. This used to be a service they provide pre-pandemic but even when it was peak season (Holy Week), they did not resume that service and it was disappointing. -They don't serve your orders by the beach if you are seated 20 steps from their restaurants. It was the first time to ever hear such a thing. -Very limited food choices on their menu. We only stayed for 4 nights but on most trips, we usually stay a week or longer, and with the options they offer and their location being away from the restaurants in Alona, this should be improved. -It would have been great if the bar at the other pool was also open. We prefer the pool on that side. -Bathroom - there was only a sink and no counter to store your toiletries. Again, if you are staying for a few nights, this is a challenge. Despite some hiccups, South Palms is still a good choice for your Bohol trip. If I were to go back for the 4th time, I would consider staying at South Palms and perhaps get their premium beachfront rooms as it gives you a really good view and access to the beach.

Stayed here for 2 nights. As expected, beach area is great. White sand and there's a lot of beach chairs available for guests. Place is perfect if you are here for photos to post on social media since the view is really great. Location: Hotel is quite far from the entrance so I recommend to rent a car if you are coming to this place. Also far from the public beach area but they have a private beach inside the resort so no need to go out of the hotel just to swim in the beach. Room: We stayed in the Garden View room. Still quite near the beach and much cheaper compared to the Beach View room. Room is spacious but lighting is kinda dark inside the room. There's complimentary water and face mask. There's a TV, mini ref, a big closet, and a full length mirror inside the room as well. Bathroom: Water pressure is not that strong but heater is working fine. There's complimentary toiletries in the bathroom. Amenities: Breakfast buffet offers a good number of selection and food is different on both days that we stayed. Restaurant offers limited food choices and is kinda pricey for the taste. There were two pools available. One is near the restaurant and the other one is near the accommodations. Water is heated so it is nice to take a dip even at night. My favorite part is the massage since their massage area is right in front of the beach and you can hear the waves which made me feel relaxed all through out the service. Services: Since there are a lot of guests, staff looks really busy. We were supposed to checkout early since we have an early flight and we book an airport transfer ahead of time. There's no one in the reception to assist us at 6am. We waited for around 30mins to get assistance. Good thing the resort is close to the airport so we did not miss our flight. Would recommend to stay in this hotel if you'll do a staycation so you can maximize the amount that you paid for.

Pros South Palms has a beautiful beach front. Though open to outsiders, South Palms has a wider shore shared by fewer people, Bohol Beach Club being its only neighbor, compared to the many hotels along Alona Beach. The resort is massive. The resort grounds look upbeat and fun with strong-colored chairs, huge swings, and lots of reclining chairs. They have better-looking villas, facilities, restaurants, resort grounds than their neighbor, Bohol Beach Club. Cons There is some inefficiency with front desk and reservations, except for Kristi who I find very competent. SP is 30% more expensive than Bohol Beach Club. Stained towels are still being offered to guests. Pool view and some beach view rooms are very old rooms. The sink counter is about a meter long and you have hardly any space for toiletries. The room doesn’t feel cozy. The room we were in, a pool view room, collected water under the sink every time we showered or used the sink. Drainage is very poor. (See photo) The curtains have already collected mold. (See photo) South Palms is the only place we stayed at for the last 10 years which we have requested for room service every single day for the 6 days that we were booked since there was always water collected under the sink. We hardly ask for room service once already checked-in but we didn’t have the time and patience (or the mop!) to mop floors every single time. We had tours, outside of the resort every single day and it have been a hassle to pack, move out, and unpack again, but under other circumstances I would have requested for another room. Cleanliness seems substandard on resort grounds too. The huge swing I chose had a very old and dried-up approx 6x3in stain on the fabric bed one morning. Restaurant staff said that it was shake stain but he seemed busy. He didn’t even offer to act quickly on it or ask housekeeping to help. We came back to same swing before dinner and stain has been untouched (see photo). A restaurant staff came over and offered to flip the fabric bed so the stain would stay underneath and the cleaner-looking part would be up. My 2 kids and I wanted to try SUP. I would alternately paddle while each child sat. After my session with my eldest, while still in the water, I went down from the SUP and sat my youngest, swimming nearby, on it. My eldest has not yet gotten off. The paddle fell off and I chased it a few feet away, but the wind became stronger and took both kids farther and farther away. I couldn’t catch up. I kept shouting for them to get off the SUP and just swim towards me but they were frightened. Security staff, about 80m away, ran and jumped into the water. He swam faster than me and got them. There was no lifeguard near us and by chance there was a security staff who heard us. The lifeguard was at the other end, manning the area for SUP rentals. Lifeguard said they are understaffed. Overall, I feel that with South Palms’ price point, I would have expected more. Bohol Beach Club, which was 30% cheaper at the time of our booking, has newly renovated rooms that offer California king-sized beds (bigger than SP) even for just two people. Their sink counter is twice as big as South Palms. My parents booked BBC while we were at South Palms and we visited them often. I cannot say anything about service or cleanliness of BBC though as I have not checked in there, but they have the same beautiful beach that SP has. We also visited Amorita and Mithi during our stay. Mithi looks better in photos than in person. Amorita is gorgeous and feels luxurious.

We stayed here for 3 days 2 nights. We stayed in Garden view room. The room is spacious and clean. There's a bar near at the beach which is great. The staffs are friendly and accommodating. The resort is in a good location and the beach area is good. We booked a beach villa which was considered one of their premium rooms but it was right next to the main pool for walk-in guests and next to a live singing entertainment venue in the evening. It was loud! Also, since they accept walk ins who only uses the pool or dine at their restaurant , our veranda view has always been people running around, taking photos using the hammock and teepee next to our room and it was unbearable. There’s no privacy at all. The staff, although courtesy and friendly are not attentive and will disregard you even while you are seated at the table at the bar or restaurant waiting. The buffet selection was okay, but their facemask policy only at the buffet is so outdated and useless. We stayed for the whole week and most of the time it takes half an hour to get a drink. They seem to be running around like headless chickens all the time. Loads of kids screaming and playing and they have group bookings and events all the time. Will not come back!

We love the location. It’s chill and quiet during the day. Very relaxing and satisfying. If you are looking for a getaway from the city, this is a perfect place. Water in the shower is salty. Service is very poor. Called guest services many times, no one is answering. My boyfriend (now fiancé) proposed to me last weekend at the resort. He booked a “PRIVATE” 5-course dinner (as advertised by the resort) for us by the beach for the proposal. When we arrived, the spot is full of leaves, branches and sea stuff. For the price he paid, they could have at least somehow tried to clear out or sweep the “private” area. He was also told they were gonna block off the area for us and that they will send security for crowd control. No security came and our dinner turned out not “private” at all. People kept passing through our area and the spot where they put us was also a bit near the bar hence we could hear the loud party music during our 1st-2nd meal. In the beginning, the intimacy was spoilt, good thing when he proposed during sun down (going for our 3rd meal), by God’s grace, people weren’t passing by and the loud party music was turned off. But this was already after he complained to the staff. Also, both our families arrived during the surprise proposal and they all ended up having dinner at the resort. They waited for more than an hour for the food and when food came, it was undercooked. They also finished eating dessert and their soup still hasn’t arrived. In the end, they found out that the f&b staff forgot to key it in their system. We also asked their staff to iron 2 tops and 1 dress. The lady said she will send someone at a specific time but the person didn’t arrive at the said time. We had to ring them twice for follow up and it took us 2 hours to get our clothes back.
