We stayed 5 nights end of June in Alona 42, and it was just perfect from end to end ! The owner Christian has been so lovely organizing everything for us to have a pleasant stay : he arranged ferry tickets, taxi and transfer so that we had not to wait too much in Cebu pier. We have done the countryside tour (Christian organized it as well) and had a very nice day. It was even cheaper than what I saw on other guesthouses, the driver was nice and spoke very good english. The rooms are incredibely clean and cool, the attached bathroom has large shower area, hot and cold water, and everything works perfectly. This is a little gem, slightly away from the hustle and bustle of the busy beach. The place is very new and clean and at 1,500 PP a night for a double room (AC + hot water, but that is standard on all rooms here) is a steal! It is then perfect location if you do not want to be right in the middle of it and have some nice relaxing or quiet time. It is about a 5 minute walk (maximum, and we do not walk overly fast, especially on holidays) to the center of the beach. The owner, Christian, is able to hook you up with all relevant information, can sort you out a car + driver, is friends with the surrounding resorts (you can use their pool, as Alona unfortunately did not have a pool at the time - there might be plans for a small pool or jacuzzi in the future).
