Alona42 Checked in on the 22nd and left on the 25th of December. Great location. Close to the lively and busy Alona Beach, yet a peaceful, quiet and relaxing hotel to come home to. The front staff- Michael and Jessa - were friendly, helpful and informative. I forgot name of the other girl on duty the 24th. Welcome drinks are given. It’s okay to drink as they use bottled water. Breakfast was included in our booking. It was delish! Gina was the best! Attentive, social and friendly. She made sure everything was good to go with all the guests. A real sunshine to have around. You can order food and beverages. We didn’t get a chance to, but they offer a good selection. The Dining Area is open with a pool view as well as the beautiful, green grassy lawn adorned with palm trees. When we had our breakfasts there, a soothing and non-intrusive jazz music was playing. Thumbs up! Good taste! We had Room #9 on the ground floor behind the dining area. There’s a small terrace with outdoor table and chairs, plus umbrellas, if needed for a rainy day. We used it when Ursula was close by! The room was very clean, spacious and well decorated. It has a safe box, fridge (with drinks for a fee), cable tv and well a functioning air conditioning. They had accommodated us with a double bed. It was very comfy as well as the pillows and the nice comforter. Complimentary bottled waters provided. Bathroom Nice size bathroom with simple amenities provided. The hot/cold shower provided good a water pressure. Toilet water pressure is good. Pool and gardens They have a nice size pool, but we didn’t get a chance to use it. The garden is well kept. Nice green grass, palm trees with orchids attached on the trunks as well as flowering plants. Aliya the Dog and the cats Aliya the resident dog as well as the 2 cats (not sure if they were also residents) also added that home-like feeling to the hotel. Aliya got curious about our room and came in one day and felt at home under the bed. We’re pets lovers and like seeing pet residents in hotel properties that we stay at. Alona Beach and the city center The beach and city center (restaurants and cafes) is walking distance from the hotel. There’s a short cut from the hotel, but I won’t recommend using it at night. Tricycle There are tricycles close by the hotel if you need a ride to the city center. But you can easily walk going the longer route. City Center There is a Dunkin’ Donuts, McDonald’s and 7-11 as well as restaurants, cafes and small supermarkets. Try Trudi’s by the beach. Good food, cheap and right by the water. It’s ok to drink water or have the fruit shakes as they use bottled water. Alona 42 A big Thank You to everyone at Alona42. We will definitely come back. Keep up the great work!…
Cozy place with amazing staff and tasty breakfasts. Rooms are super clean and nice. The surroundings is very pretty. We have spent few nights and we enjoyed all of our time. They will take good care of every guest.
Going by the pictures the room appears good. Almost like a 4-star hotel. Upon check-in however they remove the comforter and replace with blankets. I'm not sure why. The staff in general were neither friendly nor overly rude, except for one person (Gina- I think that's her name) who took our orders for breakfast and helped with our luggage. She seems to be the only one who is 'switched-on' and doing most of the work. On the second day after a whole day out, we returned to a room that has not be cleaned. When we inquired, the reply was 'you did not leave out the "please make-up room" sign'. I would imagine that's standard practice for housekeeping to make up the room every day unless you leave a sign out 'do not disturb' The location of the resort appears very near the beach - but you have to walk about 10 minutes along a path that is pitch dark at night (so bring along a torch-light) and across a 'private property'. The alternative route is to walk out to the main road (in the opp direction) and use the regular road leading into Alona beach. Will I stay in Alona42 Resort again should I revisit Panglao? I think very unlikely.…
This hotel is more than 5 star luxury resort. Perfect location and great friendly helpful employees. They are building a pool now which is quiet rare here so once it is done, you wont wanna leave this place. Thank you again for all your help and advices.
We cant thank enough to all the smily people working at Alona42. Positive and always ready to help. I do travel alot and work at the travel agency myself but never experienced such wonderful attitude. Rooms are nice, spacious and clean, calm oasis short walk to the beach and to the center. Definetely recommended, this place deserves 10 points.
We stayed 1 night, the hotel is approx. 15mins walk from the main centre. Or 10mins walk to the beach. The hotel is under renovation to build a pool. So between 9am to 5pm, expect some noise. The room itself was very comfortable and clean, quiet working air-con. Hot shower with good water pressure. Rooms have a small bar fridge. We paid 300 PHP for private car from Airport to hotel. We didn't have to organise this in advance, there are plenty of transfer vehicles once you arrive to TAG airport. Staff were very helpful. Booked the ferry transfer for us day prior from Bohol to Oslob and also packed us a sandwich breakfast to take away as we left at 445am. We would stay here again next time in Bohol
We had a great time here at Alona42, it served as our base while diving and enjoying Panglao and Bohol over the Easter week. The staff are helpful (particularly Gina) in assisting us with organizing various things, e.g. renting a car and driver to go to the Chocolate Hills. The hotel is about 10 minutes walking from the main sections of Alona Beach, and offers nice air conditioned rooms. The food and drinks are fine and reasonably priced. The only downside is that the kitchen sometimes takes to long to make the food, e.g. breakfast, when one has to be at the dive shop early in the morning. All in all I would gladly recommend this to anyone who looks for a functional, clean and quiet hotel while diving from Alona Beach, it might not be the most luxurious choice, but it’s certainly value for money.…
I was not happy with the reservation team of this hotel and the owner whom I had once on the phone. I was told she is a foreigner but she couldn’t properly communicate and she didn’t contact me back as she had promised. No one in this hotel could actually communicate properly concerning my booking as long as they had difficulties to understand English. They left my emails and WhatsApp messages without reply most of the time and they didn’t pick up the phone. They also asked more for the same room than booking.com and Agoda. Finally I booked for the same price a very good room with the central beach location in Alona beach and I was very happy because I realized that in the evening it’s very dark to walk to this hotel and it’s unpleasant. The best to be in the central location in Alona. So I don’t recommend you to stay there!…
Decided to book the hotel based on the good reviews here in Tripadvisor and they did not disappoint. It's not beachfront but a few minutes walk to the beach and this place is perfect if you are looking for a more quiet place away from the crowd and noise. The staff are very friendly and attentive. Booked my countryside tour and island hopping trip with the hotel and they even helped with our boat transfer from Bohol to Cebu. Overall its a great place to stay.
The resort is small but very relaxing as the eating area is open to the outside overlooking tropical gardens. The rooms are modern spacious and clean and great value for the price. The staff were all very helpful and it is a relatively short walk to Alona Beach. We really enjoyed our stay and the friendly staff were an important part of this. You can also walk into town or catch a tricycle, if you are eating out.
