This place is located directly at the beach and serves cold beer and good food.

The live band is playing good music which has the right volume level so you can still have a proper conversation with your entourage.

A must visit place in Alona

Only stayed for one night, but excellent place for the price (2600 php for a room) compared to the other resorts on the beach front , but then you don't get all the facilities i.e. no swimming pool, right on the beach so who needs a pool! The place was spotlessly clean. They even put up an additional camp bed in the double room (3 adults sharing a room) for no extra charge. Breakfast was good (included in room price).
When I go back to Alona beach will stay here again!

I found Trudi's Place where you can eat, have a beer almost all day long in Alona Beach leaving with a happy stomach and a smiling wallet!

Their beers, and cocktails are the cheapest in Alona Beach waterfront. The food is extremely good, I was with a friend and trooped here for a beer and bar-b-que. The next day we came back, had a few drinks again and some seafood calamares. The third day I had breakfast -2 pancakes with bananas and mangoes for only Php 100! I came back in the evening again and had some pasta and drinks and it was all to my standards and liking. What is amazing is that no matter how affordable the foods and drinks (beers, cocktails, shakes) you get a heapful of serving and a satisfied palate. Don't miss out Trudi's while in Panglao!

Our stay in trudis was OK. We found out the place when some of our friends ate at their restaurant and found out they also have rooms on the upper floor. We were staying in alone kew hotel at that time and it was a little way out of budget so we decided to transfer a day after, Me and my partner had a little room, no view on the beach, just the backyard but i was ok.( i forgot what room number we were.) it was clean, WC was clean also, shower has hot and cold function . Staff regularly cleans .

The only reason I did not rate as excellent is because of the price. However, I did stay in a deluxe room (with ocean view and balcony) and it was over New Years when rates definitely go up around the island. The room had all the comforts (Air con, TV with cable, balcony, comfortable bed, hot water) and is right on the Alona beach. A quality breakfast is included in the price of the room as well. The first day there was no hot water but they claim that is because it is solar powered and it had been cloudy recently. It worked great for the remaining 4 days we were there. They did host several Videoke parties in the beach area of their restaurant which can be definitely disturbing for relaxation but they did not go late into the night. As this area is renowned for its diving, it is important to note that they do not have an affiliated dive shop. The restaurant is a great asset as well - wonderful drinks and food.

stayed here for just one night. we got the biggest room. there was no electricity service that day in the whole island but the place had a generator so it was a plus. the ocean view from the terrace wasn't that "breathtaking" because of the trees.

the place was okay. staff were not aware if you are a guest or just dining in. saw the owner early in the morning during breakfast. not that friendly. free breakfast was quite alright. although when i asked for extra creamer, they said they need to charge us for it. fine. oh and they don't have a ref so if you ask for ice, a small bucket costs 30Php. a bottle of mineral water is worth 40Php(500mL). I think everything here in panglao is expensive.

When we were ckecking-out, the receptionist did not even offer us a transportation service to the airport. i jokingly asked her if we could get a ride with the owner since she is going to the city. she told my husband, "sir, walang libre dito." (sir, nothing's for free here.") excellent service, right?!

I been in in this place for quite many times and I just simply love it here! Their staffs are nice and smiling, the foods are delicious and a pocket friend price. It is located at heart of Alona beach and is so easy to find. Its a nice place for relaxing, sipping a bottle of beer (you'll surely add for more) and watch the people having fun on the beach. I love their Carbonara and the Trudi's delight. Trudi's Place caught my heart. :)

Stayed in the lovely Trudi's Place after checking out from Hayahay (see related reviews by Bimmerman135) and finally found what we were looking for.

The hotel has 8 rooms that provides most of the basics: Hot & cold fresh water shower (Note: most of the hotels in Alona have salty water showers); Remote controlled AC and TV: Free WIFI; Own balcony (Deluxe rooms have balconies overlooking the beach while Standard rooms have balconies overlooking the backyard) Full sized bed with proper pillows and clean sheets. It may become a bit noisy at night due to the band playing in the neighboring resort, but it wasn't a hassle for me.

This hotel is run by a really nice old lady who has built-up the hotel from honest to goodness hard work and industry. After reading from an old newspaper article framed on the wall, we discovered that Madame Trudy was one of the original settlers in Alona who stared out selling dried fish, then made her name as a fantastic cook who later on opened her restaurant serving budget friendly meals to residents and tourist.

This hotel has been a labor of love and it shows in all the details and the fantastic service that it provides to its guest. Noteworthy is the kindness and hospitality that Madame Trudy, her children and her staff would provide their guest. This hotel is a fine example that a hotel needs not a 5 star rating in order to provide fantastic service. On the basis of that I would definitely recommend staying here.

My recommendation does not however end on that basis alone, I would most certainly recommend having your meals here. The food is great, the prices are reasonable and the servings are sumptuous. The freshness and quality of the food is consistent, the service quick and prompt and the ambiance of having your meals al fresco and within a stone's throw away of the surf guarantees a satisfying experience.

And though I went to Bohol for the diving, this hotel has no dive outfit. But I would definitely stay again here. NB: I dived with Choi of the SIerra Madre Divers and their service and gears are par excellence.

Found this resort just from passing by, and it was an amazing find. Apart from good value for under 2000 with breakfast for 2, Trudi's Place has a great history behind it. Met the owner Trudi and she is one awesome lady. She is one of the original settlers on that beach, from providing good education to her children by selling fish to putting up this beautiful resort.
I would definitely stay here again and will not hesitate to recommend to friends. Food is good as well.

Think twice about booking a beachfront room, as there is a band that plays on the beach each night until the wee hours. You might want to check the condition of the AC in rooms 2 and 4, as one was very loud and the other did not work properly during my stay. Room 3 is the best of those rooms. The shower is not enclosed but has decent hot water. There is also hot water in the sink! An excellent free breakfast is included in the rate, including brewed coffee. The restaurant also serves a perfectly cooked squid and broccoli stir-fry for only 190p.
