n southern Sicily. It is an ideal location for those seeking to chill out and escape from the pressures of daily life. In addition to accommodation, we offer the benefits of our salt-water swimming pool, wine tasting, and our gardens and orchards where our guests can relax and immerse themselves in the natural scents. We are located only 5 km from the sea, amidst the same countryside and beaches made famous in BBC2's Commissario Montalbano series. Here, the long, sandy beaches and warm sea alternate constantly with hidden coves. Our resort is also only 15-20 minutes from some of Sicily's most important cultural centres. Noto, for example, is a UNESCO heritage site famed for its baroque architecture, as is the nearby city of Ragusa. Of even greater antiquity is the city of Siracusa, which is just a short drive away. If you want to treat yourself, Modica is famed not only for its architectural elegance but also for the quality of its chocolate. Kinanto Bioresort is easily reached from both Catania and Comiso airports (40 and 50 minutes respectively). All rooms and apartments are air conditioned and sound proofed, and are furnished with flat-screen TVs, free Wi-Fi and a cooking area complete with utensils and coffee maker. In addition to the swimming pool and gardens we offer private parking, the use of bicycles to explore the countryside and the opportunity to taste the excellent local wines.

What a beautiful hidden gem. From Hilaria’s warm welcome even late in the evening to the beautifully designed facilities and the exceptionally well maintained apartments ... Kinanto is the perfect place to relax and explore the beautiful surroundings of Sicily’s South East. We enjoyed the last warm rays of the sun by the pool, watched the kids play with the cats and started the day with one of the best breakfasts we have ever had on holiday. High quality produce, home made bread, another fresh made surprise every morning from foccacia to cannoli and various tasty cakes, and above all a friendly chat with the ever caring Hilaria. Thanks a lot for a wonderful stay!

Kinanto is a calm, relaxing, off the beaten track place to stay, just outside the unassuming baroque town of Ispica. Lovely Hilaria runs the place with skill and charm … and is always ready to impart good advice on where to go and where to eat. She makes the best breakfast on Sicily too! Day trips from Kinanto not to be missed are : Modica, Noto, Marzamemi and sumptuous Ortigia. Just so you know, the motorway from Catania down to Ispica is not yet a toll road as it remains unfinished … so it’s good to use it if travelling down from Catania Airport or going up to Ortigia for the day. We loved our stay here … our spacious split level apartment had a great kitchen and the pool was usually a haven of tranquility. A memorable stay. Thank you so much.

My wife and I a stayed here in September 2016. It's run by a lovely couple who speak excellent English and have a wealth of knowledge about Sicily - good restaurants, places to visit, routes to take etc..

If what you want is a place to chill, there is a lovely garden and swimming pool, luxurious rooms, excellent breakfasts to start the day, and access to a range of good beaches nearby. The suites have their own cooking facilities, but we ate out - there are some really great restaurants within easy driving distance.

If you want to explore and have an interest in history, architecture, archaeology, art and the like, you are really spoilt for choice. Syracuse, Agrigento (the Valley of the Temples), Piazza Armerina with its gorgeous Roman villa ...the list goes on.

We arrived at Comiso airport, but Catania is nearby and we went to Palermo for the day (admittedly a long drive) so these are other possibilities. We also discovered there is a nearby ferry to Malta, so when we go back - which we shall do - we may use Kinanto as a base for a couple of days in Malta.

We really could no recommend this place enough.

Two of us stayed in one of the deluxe suites at Kinanto during Aug 2018.

There are pluses and some big minuses with this property.

The biggest plus is the manager, Hilaria, and her partner Mauro, who deserve top star rating. They could not have done more in terms of genuine, generous, empathic, attentive and constant customer care and service, including producing delicious cuisine and home-made cakes and bread during our stay. The property is very clean, spacious, light, modern and comfortable.

However, far from being 'immersed in the peace of the Ragusan countryside', as the Kinanto website says, and which was the reason why we booked our stay, our experience was the opposite: a nearby very loud disco that continued until 3 a.m. one night, plus being surrounded by farmland, rather than ‘countryside’, that was being busily worked. Manure (which smelt like pig slurry) was being spread for 3 days of our 7-day stay, creating a constant, strong, very unpleasant smell that was impossible to escape from, inside or outside. The Kinanto website promises 'traditional ... smells from the area' - but this is one that we absolutely didn’t want, and that prevented any relaxation. During conversations locally we discovered that manure was spread regularly.

Along with the smell of manure came a constant plague of flies, again inescapable: as we sat by the pool or at breakfast the smell and the flies were unbearable. In addition to that, the manure-spreading started shortly after 6 a.m. with the sound of heavy agricultural machinery. Again, the promise of the website - 'areas in which to relax' - was totally unfulfilled as it was impossible to relax in those circumstances.

Three days of our holiday were ruined in this way.

Compounding all of this was the attitude of the owner, whom we kept informed of our experiences. Far from offering even sympathy or apology, let alone compensation, his responses were at the other end of the scale from Hilaria's and Mauro's customer care. In our e-mail communications with him we experienced him as dismissive of our comments and unpleasant, and he appeared neither to recognise nor to take responsibility for the inaccuracy of the marketing messages on the Kinanto website.

The whole experience was extremely stressful, upsetting and disappointing, and we couldn't wait to leave.

Born from an elegant restructuring of several country houses, this place represents the quintessence of hospitality.

Every small details in this resorts reflects passion and care for the Beauty. The interiors of the rooms are classy and never boring, linen bed sheets and a relaxing sandalwood fragrance make the stay a "sensorial" experience.
Talking about senses, the breakfast itself worths the trip, it's a kind of unexpected gift you can get everyday: made of fresh fruits of their courtyard, fresh juices are served everyday, hand made cannoli with fresh ricotta cheese or spiced lemon ice cream or crushed iced with almond and cakes or cookies all 100% handmade and natural served in the shades of olive trees in their green backyard.

But the secret alchemy of this paradise is all to be searched in the 2 host: Chino and Anto (did You get it now?) What can you expect from 2 person that are living their dreams? Only magic.
From the moment you step in, it seems you always been there, almost like you belong to this place and these feeling is because of them. Never too invasive, they let you in their lives and pamper the guests with a level of care that you can not get in any 7stars hotel in the world. This is the art of hospitality. This when you feel at home, even miles away from it.

Kinanto Grazie for this beautiful experience. All the best.
Fabrizio.

We (a couple) stayed two nights at Kinanto, definitely too brief a stay. The resort is beautifully designed and immaculately kept: the Sicilian sun makes all the colourful fabrics selected by Antonella (the "anto" half of "kinanto") sing prettily against the white, blue and green backdrop of the walls, sky and grass. Sadly, we didn't get the pleasure to meet Chino and Antonella but Hilaria more than made up for that. Always available, always helpful and just so nice you'll end up plotting to kidnap her and Mauro to bring them home with you! We didn't spend enough time to have a meal at the resort but breakfast was the best we had in our week-long road trip from Syracuse to Agrigento: a feast for the eyes as well as for the palate. We would definitely go back, and for longer.

This haven is surrounded by farmland about 5 minutes drive from Ispica and 15 minutes from the sea. There are attractive outside spaces and a good-sized swimming pool with plenty of seating. The rooms are all different but well equipped, beautifully clean and fabulously decorated by the designer owner. The owners are no longer on site but that brings me to the reason for the 5 star review: Hilaria. Hilaria offers a warm, cheerful welcome and makes the delicious breakfasts for guests, with different freshly made juices and baked goods every morning. She gave us great recommendations for trips and restaurants and really added to our holiday. Tip: avoid the rooms with futons for sleeping on - unless you're a futon fan!

We travel with our 2 children (3 & 7) and stayed 6 nights.

What we liked:
Everything
The location is great and in easy reach of the most beautiful sites in the area (Noto, Siracusa, Modica, Ragusa, Marzamemi, Vindicari, etc.)
The room is large, bright, comfortable and clean
The owners have temporary “outsource” the hospitality to Ilaria and boyfriend and are both doing an excellent job
The swimming pool

What could be improved:
Nothing

We loved the place, would recommend it and wish to be able to go back

Kinanto Bioresort is situated in quiet countryside, close to Ispica and a short drive from the baroque towns of Noto, Modica and Ragusa, and the coast of Southern Sicily.
The owners -Chino and Antonella - have carefully restored derelict farm buildings on eco -friendly principles to create a range of beautiful spacious properties, furnished with colourful textiles and great attention to detail. There is a lovely terraced garden, olive trees, and a salt water swimming pool. Everything has been carefully planned to create a wonderful environment for relaxation. A delicious breakfast, including fresh fruit juices and local produce, is served in the main farmhouse, or outdoors on the terrace in summer.Chino and Antonella are great hosts and speak excellent English. They were always happy to share their knowledge of Sicily and help us plan our days, and made us feel extremely welcome throughout our 4 night stay.

We stayed for 4 nights and anjoyed everything about the place.
The rooms were big with a seperat living room and were super nice decorated. The hotel itself is situated in the countryside which makes it very quiet. The pool is a nice addition which we had mostly to ourselves. Still you can reach different small beach towns within 20-30 minutes as well as Ragusa and Modica within 30-45 minutes drive.

But what made the place super special is Hilaria who runs the place. She makes breakfast every morning that includes home made bread, foccacia, a new cake every morning, home made yoghurt and anything you need. She gave us great restaurant recommendations and was always helpful with any questions. We cannot thank her enough.
