We had a one night stay after driving down from Cape Reinga, it was our most expensive accomodation in NZ and very basic, the room was like an old bach that needed a good make over! We had partial views and the sunset was pretty, the walk on the beach was lovely. We didn't have a meal as I thought the prices were quite expensive. The owners are very nice and helpful. Thank you.
Had a lovely one night stay here. The rooms are fairly basic but clean and tidy. Beautiful view of the sunset over the ocean. Has restaurant onsite with great service and food. Would definitely stay here again.
The view is spectacular, rivals many hotels I’ve been to. I was unlucky that it’s the start of winter and didn’t get the view for long. The food at the restaurant is great and very filling. Would gladly eat there again. The room is basic. The bathroom looks new and was beautiful, but everything else looked like it was dated or old. The room had condensation in it every morning that I woke up. I would come back there again, but maybe in the summertime. Didn’t get to use the balcony that I so wanted to use.
What an absolutely beautiful place to stay. Spa Bath was amazing. View was to die for. Was a great place to unwind and have date night. The scenery is next to none. Recommended to anyone looking for a place to relax.
Stayed here one night whilst exploring the top of Northland. Beautiful scenery and views of the bay. Friendly and helpful management. Motel was difficult to find from the main road, and main part of town. Signage to the motel is poor - Satnav highly recommended.Views from the motel are great, and if you had one of the newer apartment rooms at the front of the complex the views would be permanent and stunning. Room was comfortable enough. Kitchen well stocked. Comfortable bed and chairs. Bathroom was very outdated but adequate. Wifi connection was one of the most bizarre set-ups I've come across and one of the poorest connections I've ever experienced. Even if you did manage to log in the connection was slow and fell out. Restaurant was very good. Given that there is limited choice this made it even better. Good well stocked bar. Food was good, menu choices quite wide. We had the stone grill (we overheard some locals say why go out and then cook the meat yourself!). But it was fun, and you could cook it as you wanted it. Meat was very good. Outdoor tables meant we would continue to experience the views and sunset. Worth stopping.…
