The story of La Casbah la Jeanne: For over 20 years escorting people from all around the world in deserts, mountains, valleys and historical places, I discovered the interest and beauty of my own country through the eyes of my travel companions. The sheer beauty of the casbahs and the ksours here has always attracted the wish to photograph and while doing so people always say; “Moha, something should be done to protect this wonderful and unique heritage.” This planted the seed of my dream in my mind which took form as I journeyed through the country, often humming the inspiring tune of Brassins’ "La Jeanne." By 2009, my project was ready and I was able to send out the plans to my many friends and contacts. Encouragement and ideas flowed in from all over the world.Kind and generous friends were willing to help financially, making it much easier. After five years of hard work and determination, the construction was finally completed and a real, authentic casbah had come true. The granting of the opening license in December 2013 was the best New Year present I have ever had. Proud of the final result, grateful for the limitless help of all friends, I must thank each and every one of them, without whom the project would never have been completed successfully. This Casbah –my life, my history and my dream is offering me now more contacts from all over the world. This Casbah has a very good reputation seeing the excellent reviews posted on many travel websites. It is a good example of the Berbere ancestral architeture as it is built with clay and wood. We offer organic food. A tour in the nearby village permits contact with the villagers and their day-to-day pastoral life. A one hour walk to the picturesque plain in Boumalne allows you to see nomads with their herds of goats, sheep, and camels. This guest house Casbah is located is located in a strategic axis between the Dades Gorges, the Valley of the Roses, the Todra Gorges, the Anti-Atlas mountain, the Jebel Saghro, and the birds valley.

It’s a great, rustic and original place to stay! Besides the good and plentiful food and the traditional building and rooms, the best about it is its manager Moha; nobody seems to know the area better than him and is so approachable, caring and communicative towards his guests. Great hospitality!

A majestic Casbah built with natural materials of very good quality, where we were received very warmly by Moha and his family. Moha also organized and accompanied us for a 6-day trek in Jebel Saghro which will remain unforgettable! Magical landscapes, memorable encounters, delicious meals, exciting shared knowledge! Many thanks Moha!

My partner and I stayed at La Jeanne as an overnight stop during a 5-day excursion from Fès to Marrakech.
We were welcomed by the owner, Moha, who explained what eco-tourism meant to him and the idea behind the construction of a casbah that is in keeping with traditional Berber architecture and construction materials. The result is spectacular and the attention to detail phenomenal.
The rooms are spacious, very comfortable and so quiet. It is like sleeping in a cocoon.
Delicious couscous was served for dinner and breakfast included freshly made msemens.
Moha and his family made us feel welcome and we enjoyed lively conversation; we even got a song!
We thoroughly enjoyed our time at La Jeanne!

We spent 3 nights here whilst visiting the gorges. The location is very good and the rooms are spacious and clean, but what really makes the place is the owner Moha. He makes you feel at home, very well looked after and entertained with his sense of humour. he gave us great advice for our trip over delicious suppers at the Casbah. highly recommended!

We had a very pleasant stay at this calm, beautiful and original casbah hotel built in traditional marrocan style and situated above the Dades valley. Moha is also an excellent mountain and desert guide with broad knowledge in geography, history, culture and even linguistics. We are happy that we found this place.

I spent three nights with Moha and his family including the delightful Mariam, his four year old daughter. Eating with the family and sharing their lives was a great experience. There is work to be done with the heating and furnishings so be prepared BUT this is a unique place with a profound philosophy behind it.

I have just returned from an extended trip to Morocco , my second in 5 months , I stayed with Mo ha and his family at their wonderful Casbah, in Boumaine Dades. A true taste of the real Morocco. Moha and his family are truely among the most hospitable and kindest people I have ever met ,.nothing was too much trouble. La Jeanne, is very well located for treking holidays into the Atlas Mountains , the Gorge and the Valley of Roses You can organise for a guide to take you into the Atlas Mountains directly through Mo Ha and his family at the Casbah If your considering Morocco , take my advice , by pass Marrakesh and the beaches and head into the Atlas Mountains for the real taste of Morocco at La Casbah la Jeanne. A bit reluctant to share this little gem with anyone else , but it would be a shame to miss it !

The night we spent with Moha and his family at Casbah D'hote La Jeanne was a comfortable, engaging, and one of the most authentic experience we had on our trip to Morocco - would highly recommend it to anyone passing through.
Moha built this Kasbah from the ground up in recent years using traditional methods, and lives there with his family. It meant that we got to spend the night inside an authentic Kasbah that also happened to offer a lot of modern comforts and conveniences. The rooms were large, clean, and comfortable, and the Wifi connection happened to be the fastest we had anywhere on our trip to Morocco.
Moha and his kind family were the highlight of our stay though. He joined us for dinner (which was homemade and delicious), and we ended up having a really interesting and far-ranging conversation that was also one of the more intellectually stimulating discussions I've had in a long time. He was a fantastic and warm host, and we would gladly recommend the experience of staying with him.

Stayed a night in this beautiful and authentic Kazbah ran by Moha and his family. Rooms are clean and very spacious. Service is very personal since the B&B is ran by the owners themselves.
Moha, the owner, will share his knowledge of the area plus Morocco’s culture and history. The conversation with Moha is very stimulating. I also really enjoyed the authentic Moroccan home cooked meal for dinner and breakfast. Moha’s wife is a very excellent cook making their own meals, soup, breads and jam from scratch.
