This hotel feels like a little magic castle. So many pretty areas for sitting all over the property. The only time it really felt busy was at dinner. We had a little sitting area outside our room with a great view of the red rocks.

The rooms are beautifully and lushly done in Moroccan design with plush rugs and accents. I especially liked the basket weave lampshades and hanging lights. Robes and slippers r provided.

The only downsides to the room: beds not super comfy but we had that in every hotel all over the country; bathroom is small and a bit cramped (small toilet area then sink in the middle and shower to the right all straight across). Also the door to all 3 was low so tall people may hit their heads. I liked that there was a public bathroom on the stairwell wading to reception as sometimes a second one comes in handy!

Dinner seemed a bit like we were on a cruise ship. Almost Everyone came to dinner at once and got served the same meal with a few exceptions. Felt a little like an assembly line but the food was very good (breakfast too) and they’re good about catering to any dietary restrictions (vegetarian, lactose intolerance etc.). I really hated to leave here.

Built within the rock-face of the Dades Gorge, Auberge Chez Pierre is a wonderful and peaceful retreat in a picturesque setting. The staff was so welcoming and helpful. Our good-sized, mountain-view room was very clean and comfortable with a spacious balcony/terrace. The room was creatively designed and furnished as were all the public spaces throughout the hotel (local, traditional architecture). Special thanks to Lachen for being so hospitable. We, extremely, enjoyed the culinary experience that was a mix of European and Moroccan dishes (breakfast and dinner). It was a nice break from the many (and delicious!) traditional tagines. The lovely menu changes each day. This trip offered us more time to spend exploring the local area. The hike to Sidi Boubkar Gorge and “The Monkey Fingers” was a special and memorable experience thanks to our skilled and knowledgeable, local guide, Hassan. Shukran bezaf. Looking forward to returning very soon!

Wow! What a place. Highly recommend this boutique hotel. A multi-level hotel in Dades Valley with each room with its unique view of the valley.

The dinner and breakfast that they served rivaled being served in a five star restaurant and the place is just so unique.

We have been traveling for 5 weeks in Morocco and we love the country and the people. Our experience at Chez Pierre was awful due to the disrespectful and poor service from the reception manager, Noureddine, and the poor service from the restaurant servers. The chef is very good and meals were delicious but not the service. The hotel is very overpriced- more than twice the price of other accommodations and just not worth it. We stayed in very luxurious Riads and hotels for much less money. Our toilet was broken in half and the manager was upset when we told him the toilet was not usable. The small soap was wafer thin and very cheap. The towels were very rough and stained. The seating areas are nice but there is no shade and the pool is too cold to use. They made a small $20 mistake on our bill which we were unaware of until we received a scathing text from Noureddine blaming us for the mistake?!!
We do not recommend Chez Pierre, there are so many other places to stay.

Response from Auberge chez pierre, Owner at Chez Pierre

Dear Laura, thanks for your comment. We really appreciate your stay with us. Following your comment, After all the help that we give you, advices on the road, what to do, out of our service. I discussed the guide with you and give you all the information, and we agreed about 60€ total including the guide and lunch paquet, then you told me that you need a transport that we offered for free for you. And at check out time, my colleagues put the guide and lunch paquet on the bill, but you told him that you paid the guide directly which we trust you on it. But after the guide come asking for the rest of payment, and we see that ypu pay him just 40€ without mentionning that to us when you say that you pay him (You should then tell us that i pay him 40€ so please put the rest on the bill, so we pay him the different from our own (that was your big mistake or may be you really prefer to do that to us). No problem. For the toilet, yes you told us it is broken, and we directly fix it and chenge it to new one in less than 30min. And for the price of the room, it was your option, if you want to share the mails, we give you an offer, and you accept it for one of the best rooms that we have that was a deluxe room. So you have nothing to say about the price as you have before accepting. Anyway, thanks for staying with us, and we are happy to inform you that we will not change our policies because of you, and we will continue doing our job as we always do on the best way to make our clients happy. Thanks again.

Chez Pierre had an absolutely formidable reputation for excellent under it's original owners, and after it changed hands we were unsure... but it's as wonderful as ever. Endless courses of imaginative food are the perfect antidote to those who've eaten one too many tagine. Rooms are fresh and immaculate, service is excellent. If you can't stay - there are only eight or ten rooms - remember it's still possible, and very worthwhile, to eat dinner.

The best thing about this hotel is that it is locally owned and operated by Moroccans from the area. We were told there are no foreign owners, which we loved. Because this hotel strives to be the best even by American standards. From the moment we arrived, we were enchanted. The hotel and the gardens are beautiful and perfectly maintained. The rooms are beautifully styled and so comfortable. The service was over the top - carrying our bags for our family of six up all the stairs to our room, upgrading us to a more comfortable apartment, and Noureddine even brought us his own router when the WiFi didn't work in our room. The food is to die for - Morocco/European fusion. You are served a multi-course meal with an incredible dessert in a warm, stylish dining room and with impeccable service. The Berber music at dinner was wonderful, too! And breakfast was over the top! The staff was so kind and accommodating to our kids, too. This was our favorite hotel experience in six weeks in Morocco! We just wish we could have stayed longer. This is a MUST STAY hotel! And don't forget to hike the Monkey Fingers too! We loved it!

We are staying here as part of our honeymoon in Morocco. We haven’t even checked out yet but felt we needed to write a review already since this place and its people have been so incredible. When you arrive and look around, you know you are somewhere special; not only are the views beautiful but the entire hotel and terraces have been lovingly tended to, and the effort has been so worth it. The nooks and stairs and gardens on the slope are all enchanting. We were fortunate to have a few meals on the property and we can’t speak highly enough of the love and detail and attention that go into each of them. The kitchen and chef are incredible and know exactly how to maximize flavor with nuance and balance without overdoing anything, all while presenting something that simply looks like art on a plate (or several plates!). Chez Pierre should have a Michelin Star! The accommodations themselves have Berber touches throughout and feel homey. We can’t speak highly enough of Ismail and his brothers; what a wonderful staff. We had the opportunity to book an off-road excursion with Ismail through the villages and hills in the area for a day. If you have the chance and would like to learn more about this place and its people, we found it informative, relaxing, and enjoyable. We felt we gained a better understanding and appreciation for the Berber culture (as well as Nomadic) and the land on which they live. Thank you to the staff for your great care in making sure your guests have a stay to remember.

Nesting along the side of the valley is this gem which not only provides outstanding hiking tours to the Monkey Fingers but also a day trip with hiking to the off road areas of the Valley of the Roses.
The service could not be more friendly and outstanding . The hotel musical band played Berber music two of the nights we were there. The food is amazing because the chef who is not only talented but has the passion.

Wow, not sure where to begin to describe the amazing experience we had a Chez Pierre. From the road, you can't imagine what a charming hotel this is. It is so tastefully done, with gorgeous views, gardens and multilevel terraces. It reminded me of the lovely town of Eze in the south of France. The owner Ismail and his brother are on site and taking care of every detail. The hotel manager Noureddine is also amazing.

Dinner at Chez Pierre is also an experience in itself. And at the end of the meal, the staff comes together to play the local drums and sing local folkloric songs, making the experience even more special.

Your Moroccan experience won't be the same without staying at this lovely place.

Hi, thanks for your question. Yes, our luxury desert camp is now open, and it is called Heart Luxury Desert Camp. We are still working on our website, but of course it is providing the same outstanding service as Chez Pierre - we wouldn’t risk our reputation with anything less! If you want to book, please contact us via Auberge Chez Pierre’s website. We’d be delighted to help you! Best wishes, Helen

Pierre has not worked at Chez Pierre for some years now. The hotel is under new and very good management and all dietary requirements are catered for - including vegans and people with coeliac disease. You just need to let the hotel know (in advance of your arrival if possible) and the kitchen will prepare a special menu to accommodate your needs.
