Me and my husband stayed at Ecolodge Miss Rose Kasbah for 3 days. The location was great and the owner is a very kind host and also a Mountain guide, he took us on cultural tours in the village for free and treated us like family.
The rooms are spacious and in pise and the courtyard is beautiful and welcoming with a beautiful, well-landscaped garden. The food served was very delicious and tasty with plenty to eat at each meal.
WIFI was available so easy to communicate.
I felt very comfortable in this Kasbah and I will definitely return there for our next trip to the south of Morocco.

The Kasbah Ecolodge Miss Rose at the family home is a real Ecolodge that respects the environment and is economical in the use of water and energy.
We tasted the farm's organic products, hey, the sheep's milk is great.
Thank you for the meals served with the taste of local spices. We will come back next time for roses. Thank you

They welcomed us in a very cordial manner!!!
It is a family hotel where they treat you like at home. Traditional dinner and afterwards, the hotel guys start playing the tam tam, dancing with all the guests. Breakfast is also local and very good. Clean and very cozy rooms, the food and hospitality were wonderful!! Magnificent place and magnificent people! We would return without a doubt.

We were at the ecolodge after the earthquake, his house Kasbah and Seine and safe, he told us that competitors are trying to destabilize him about their false comments.
Beautiful place built with ecological materials, in the traditional way. The rooms are huge and clean. Lots of space also for the living rooms with a library and a comfortable dining room. Delicious, hearty dinners and breakfasts. The owner is also a guide and offers to accompany you on hikes in the surrounding area.
Thank you to Hafida for your well-refined homemade meals. I highly recommend it without hesitation.

I was with my family on a trip to Morocco, and we tried this hotel last few days , which I do not recommend to anyone. It was a very bad experience. Staff did not smile at all and cockroach in the room. Food is terrible. The water of the shower is not clean, and the place is not safe due to the earthquake that struck the area. Take my advice and find another place!

The jealous neighbor. Do not mix business and village struggles with professional tourist business, you are jealous at the amount of tourists that enter in my premises and that your house remains empty because you are fierce towards people and above all you are a "dirty soul".

The hosts at this guesthouse, Lahcene and his family, are a regular Berber family who welcome you to their home. They live in one building and the guest rooms are in another. If you are looking for a taste of Berber life, this is the place to go we ate dinner with the family one night and Lahcene, a mountain guide, told us about Berber customs and even invited some of his English-speaking friends to welcome us. The breakfast was amazing, including homemade breads, cheese, and olive oil

We didn’t know what to expect when we booked this place based on the excellent reviews it got. When we arrived at twilight the gate was closed and the owner came to open it and show us our room which was very basic. This place is basically a home stay with a Berber family in clean and nicely decorated private guests rooms. Hot water come from a boiler that is fed with wood and the beautiful organic garden gets its water from a functioning canal irrigation system. This is not your typical hotel but if you want to know how Berber villagers live - this is the place for you. The owner, a mountain guide is very proud of his Berber heritage and will tell you all you want to know about it and about trips hikes and treks in the area. His wife makes the best Moroccan food using their vegetable garden. Nice terrace for outdoor breakfast and dinner. A very pleasant rustic experience, definitely one of a kind.

Firstly, considering Amskou is virtually in the middle of nowhere, it is a really quite pleasant accommodation. It is in fact in a village called 'Souk El Khemis Dades', just south of the gorges and the main town 'Boumalne Dades'.
TIP: when driving along the main road look out for a small sign on a stilt pointing to Amskou on the left. The owner, Lahcen, will offer you tea and biscuits when you arrive - a nice touch. This can be quite easy to miss if you're not expecting it. So let me cut to the chase - what do you need to know?
Positives:
1. Very clean - a deal-maker if you're anything like me
2. Excellent value for money - perhaps the best value accommodation in the area
3. The showers work and there is even soap and shampoo - a rare find in Morocco.
4. Lahcen is very friendly - he used to use Amskou as a base for hiking so he knows the area well - ask him questions about the gorges/walking/routes etc.
5. PARKING: Amskou has parking available behind a gate which is reassuring if you have your own hired car!
6. The garden is lovely
Negatives:
1. The WIFI doesn't work - very typical for morocco but hey, did you really come for the internet?
2. No AC - we stayed at Amskou in July so it was particularly hot - this would not be an issue for most of the year but it did mean we slept above the covers.
3. Breakfast (although included in the price) may or may not be served - in our case Lahcen was not up by the time we had agreed to leave so we missed out, but then again we did not come for the breakfast.
4. Lahcen's two boys: although incredibly cute at first, they kept knocking on our door for hours after we'd gone to bed, wanting to sit with us. After a long day's traveling this quickly became annoying - no hard feelings lads!
So in conclusion, Amskou will provide you with a more than adequate 'pit-stop' before your (probably) long journey continues. Clean and cheap; just don't expect too much.
Bonus tip: If you fancy mixing things up a bit, request the 'cave room' underground.
Au revoir

The Ecolodge is located 6 km west of Boumalne. There's a nice sign on the main road pointing you in the right direction - about a 250m walk. The lodge is great for day hikes into the Atlas Mtns to the north and Djebel Sarhro to the south. We hiked north to the piste & east to Ait Youl in 5 hours. Another day we headed north and west to Bou Thaghrar. The river valleys, high plateaus and mountain passes are spectacular. We met nomads and dromedaries. The lodge is a typical Berber guest house with basic amenities. Rest assured you will have a heater in the room and hot water for showers. Lahcene the owner is a guide who specializes in birds but will gladly take you anywhere or plan routes for your own pleasure. The family is extremely accomodating, answering questions, cooking delicious meals and making you feel welcome. The kids are charming. We had a wonderful time hiking in the area, visiting the olive oil facility and interacting with the family.
