Nestled near the Dades gorges, Dar Rihana Dades hotel is celebrated for its cleanliness and the Moroccan and Santa Fe-inspired decor that creates a welcoming atmosphere. The rooms, adorned in Moroccan style, are noted for their comfort and beauty. While the hotel’s dining options are generally lauded for being exceptional and reasonably priced, there have been some concerns about booking value. The amenities, including a stunning pool and beautifully designed rooms, receive high marks. Service is often described as outstanding, with staff making guests feel like family, though some guests have encountered booking issues.

My partner and I had the pleasure of staying one night in Dar Rihana as part of our 3-day desert tour. This hotel absolutely blew our minds with how nice it was!! Our room was luxurious, our vegetarian dinner and breakfast felt like fine dining, and our hotel host, Mohamed, was incredibly warm and welcoming, offering us mint tea on upon our arrival on the balcony (where we enjoyed a beautiful view) before showing us to our rooms. I highly recommend staying at Dar Rihana for any travelers passing through the Dades Valley!

WOW doesn’t cover the incredible art and detail of this recently Artist renovated Dar.

Expertly run by two young and talented brothers.

Greetings by the spunky, smiling, dazzling, and charming Mohamed with Exceptional Berber Hospitality, gratitude and loving kindness.

Chef Hamid cooking up concoctions of delectable art from his immaculate kitchen to tease your mouth and melt your heart.

Our Tour guide booked only one night as we were passing from FES to the desert of Merzouga continuing through the Atlas to Aitbenhadou.

Jaw dropping from the moment I stepped into the lobby of this little jem tucked in an alcove off the roadside in a quiet countryside setting. Lured in by the amazing and relaxing scent of jasmine pulling me inward to the stunning pool.

Everywhere I looked I saw something new and amazing. From the simple but dramatic Red Berber carpets, fountains, wall sconces, lighting, simple fluid art on all levels and the ceilings!!

But keep looking, the custom railings, front door and even the door knocker I missed seeing upon arrival are wonderfully inspiring!

When walking towards the back you are greeted by this inviting cool blue pool and two terraces with awesome spiral staircases!

Delightful cookies and special peanuts served with traditional hot Moroccan tea by poolside on the terrace was simply charming and relaxing after the long car ride.

The rear rooms have their own private decks overlooking the local countryside farms with serene views of mountains and lots of fresh air.

Not a detail forgotten. Lots of hot water for bathing, blow dryer and plugs everywhere for charging your electronics.

Come see for yourself! I personally would replicate the art in my own home if it were possible & adopt the brothers too.

Gourmet breakfast included. Best I’ve had thus far in Morocco!

First place I will return to Morocco to explore and for some hiking and TLC ( tender loving care)

I left my heart at Dar Rhiana…

Incredible hidden gem situated within the Dades Valley. My friend and I stayed here as part of a tour throughout Morocco and were so happy to have been at this hotel.

We were welcomed to the hotel with tea and snacks while completing paperwork. Our bags were brought o our room for us to freshen up before dinner. Dinner was the best we’ve had yet, regard to the chef and his impecable skills. After dinner, we traveled to a local cafe to watch the final Euro cup game and came back to a lovely sleep in the room.

We stayed in room 1, a front facing room overlooking the road. It was a quiet stay, we had two beds and sleep comfortably. The shower is large and has multiple settings of water pressure which we enjoyed. The room was clean and comfortable.

Breakfast was agin beyond delicious and filled us up for a long day into the desert.

Make the beautiful Dades valley even better by staying here.

The Dar Rihana was one of the best places we stayed during our trip to Morocco. The drive from Marrakech to the Dar was long but incredibly scenic and so worth it. We arrived and we immediately treated to some Morocco mint tea and one of the best cookies I have ever had! We were hoping they sold them so we could take some for the rest of the trip (they don't, unfortunately).
Our room was spacious, with a comfortable bed and although the bathroom space itself was small, the shower was huge and had the perfect water pressure and temperature. We also had a small balcony with a beautiful view of the mountain and if we had stayed longer, or it was warmer, I would definitely have enjoyed spending time reading a book or enjoying my coffee in the serene space.
The dinner was EXTRAORDINARY! There is not enough words to describe the experience and the food. The pacing of dinner was perfect and clearly the chef loves what he does and takes great pride in his work. Every dish was beautifully plated and incredibly flavorful. It was, as others have said, a world class dining experience.
The love, pride and joy that Abdul and his family in what they do is evident from the moment you step foot into Dar Rihana. Definitely wish we had been there longer and hope to return one day.

Dar rihana is a small new hotel.

Not so good looking from the outside, as most places in gorge dades, but very cozy and welcoming.

The staff, specially mohamed, is extremely helpful and friendly.

The rooms are lovely and with the heaters they were very warm during our winter stay.

The breakfast is very good even though its not a buffet. They prepare each plate for every guest and all the ingriedients were fresh.

The wifi is not so good in the rooms, but when you see the region you are, its very understandable.

I would highly recommend this place.

We stayed in Room 7 Dar Rihana Dades, and it was a wonderful little hide-away within this beautiful riad that was on our way to the Merzouga Desert. You will be greeted warmly by the manager when you arrive and invited to have mint tea and near the pool while your bags are taken to your room. The view from the terrace is simply stunning...mountaineous, but allowing you to observe village men, women, and children going about their day...heading to school, working in their gardens, and chatting on the way back home in the village in the evening. Breakfast is sumptuous with a variety of fresh Moroccan bread, yogurt, fruit, and an egg dish (see my favorite one in photo). A delicious dinner is served upstairs in the dining room, and more than likely will not be a tagine, as the chef likes to prepare other dishes that are yummy as well. Overall, this is a lovely property. Beautifully appointed and located, I hope that you will love it as much as we did.

Dar Rihana Dades was one of the ABSOLUTE highlights of my family's Morocco trip. The food was absolutely spectacular; course, after course, after course, of delicious refined French fusion cuisine. (A lovely change from the multiple tagines we had the previous 4 days) We later learned that chef was 20 years old! What talent! The attention to detail was impeccable throughout our entire stay. The owner greeted us with mint tea and snacks on the backyard patio as we overlooked the Dades valley and stars. The rooms were cozy and beautifully decorated.

We had an amazing conversation after dinner with the owner. He is such a charismatic, entertaining and such a joy to talk to. We learned so much about his family and Morocco. I wish I could give this place 10 stars, I cannot recommend it enough.

Wow. Driving up you really just don’t know what to expect. Just a beautiful little hotel situated in the mountains next to what appears to be a community garden. We were welcomed with a local hot drink, Tizan, with treats on the terrace. Dinner was served in their diningroom with the rest of the guests. Dinner was completely unexpected- a delicious beautiful 5 course gastronomical feast. Abdul was wonderful, attentive and kind, and although he was the only one that attended to all the guests when we arrived at different times, showed us to our rooms, AND served us each dish and drink throughout the evening, he maintained grace and composure. He needs more staff!!! Highly recommend this little gem if you are exploring the gorges.

The pictures do not do this place justice! This Riad is pretty much the perfect place to stay, ever. I have traveled to many countries across the world and have rarely come across somewhere so quaint, beautiful, and luxury all at the same time. This was absolutely the best food that we had in our entire week in Morocco, traveling throughout the country. It is a family owned business and we met several of the brothers, one who manages the guests, one who is the head chef, and others. Such a warm, family environment, but romantic at the same time. I would absolutely love to stay here again and spend several days here. I can't say enough good things. The state felt extremely unique, would be hard to replicate elsewhere or on another trip. The decor and rooms were all different from one another (my group had three rooms) and the meals were tailored to your liking. Honestly, the meals were that of a gourmet, expensive, five-star restaurant. Would definitely visit here again!

This was our first time in Morocco, and this hotel was meant to be part of our 3 day/ 2 night trip to Merzouga. I'd love to have left a glowing review for the hotel, but unfortunately this was not to be. Our room was booked over 9 months ago by our Moroccan tour guide, who booked a specific room number at our request, by phone to the hotel who confirmed all was in order. We were looking forward to our stay. However when we arrived in the evening, after a full day in Atlas Mountains and Ait Ben Haddou, we were led by the hotel manager to a different building nearby - which we saw was an unfinished building! It had light bulbs hanging on exposed wires in the hallway, surely fire hazards, unfinished ceiling and a man sleeping in his shoes and clothes on a bed in the lobby!!
We were with our Moroccan driver and the hotel manager told us "it was a fault of the tour guide who booked a double room, not a specific number room" - but he booked a double room, with a number, and there are only two double rooms in the hotel, on their website. The other building wasn't on the website and wasn't even built when our hotel booking was made! We booked the hotel, from their website, and were mis-sold it.
When we expressed dissatisfaction of our booking not being honoured, the hotel manager shrugged his shoulders, said the hotel was fully booked. "it is what it is" and "if you don't like it, you can go to another hotel". We and our driver and tour guide, who are both Moroccan, were stunned by this bad attitude and practice, and all we could do is leave rather than stay in an unfinished building which was not the hotel we booked.
Next morning we drove past on our way and saw a big group mainly Asian tourists checking out of the hotel into a tour bus, which had filled the hotel for the night we were booked months ago to be there. It looks like the hotel oversold the rooms and gave them all to the big group, which was more profit than our individual stay. And instead of letting us know in good time beforehand, they decided to move us to some other building, construction of which is still being finished! Our guide has this recorded on the phone, both the building state and calls about our room booking.
In all our 20+ years of travelling, and of our Moroccan guides being in business, none of us have ever experienced anything like this, and it gives Morocco a bad name. To treat tourists and fellow Moroccans like this is appalling.
The rest of our trip was great, and we can only hope the hotel can learn from this and do better. Don't respond to us, we're too upset by this experience and want to have good memories of the trip, not bad ones.

Responded May 1, 2024
Dear guest We are sorry to hear about your bad experience. We have reserved a double room for you according to your tour guide request (but not a specific room as we have shown you our WhatsApp reservation confirmation). We tried to resolve the issues on site with minimal impact to you - as each guest’s happiness and satisfaction is our top priority. Unfortunately, you chose to leave with your tour guide for another hotel. If you can send us your specific double room reservation for our attention, this may help to understand where confusion arisen. We feel sorry again for your bad experience. Regards Dar Rihana
