We stayed here after a friends wedding, as it was only a few pounds more expensive then the local Premier Inn, and included breakfast. We found the whole hotel stunning visually, from the reception to the rooms. We were greeted on arrival, and our room was ready for check-in per our request which they were more than happy to accommodate. The bed was soft (though I prefer a flatter pillow) and the bathroom spacious. I spoke to the staff on the phone a few times before our stay; each time they were friendly and helpful, as they were on site. They were so welcoming and warm. We were offered hot drinks to our room in the morning, which was included also, and the breakfast options, though small, sounded amazing. All we could manage were rolls but they were delicious and the meat was cooked to perfection. We have another wedding next year and we are already thinking of our next stay then!

We actually visited the George on the 2nd December 2022, I forgot to write a review! The occasion was our wedding, there was just 4 of us and we booked the cosy library room for our meal. Our waiter Tristan was excellent, he looked after us from the afternoon right through to the evening. The food was amazing, as was the whole day, it really made our very small wedding memorable. The décor in the George is outstanding, and vey tastefully done. To end our fabulous day we had booked two rooms for an overnight stay. The rooms exceeded our expectations, they were very well thought out and had a lovely comfortable bed and a great shower. Breakfast was excellent, as are the staff at the George. The whole experience made our wedding a very special day, thank you.

A lovely meal in a lovely restaurant. Good food and good service. Probably a lovely hotel to stay too, not see the rooms. There was no-one in the restaurant when we meet, so the atmosphere felt like a ghost town. Lovely decor. What we would call a quaint and posh restaurant/hotel.

The George is a lovely large hotel with a restaurant split into different areas to eat. We turned up lunchtime on a Friday and asked for a table for two in the main restaurant. Although not fully booked we were told they were quite busy and we could sit in the bar area. Made to feel that this was the only option, we sat near the window, very small table, wobbly. Had to use another table for side orders and drinks. Service was slow and took a while for our food to arrive yet people sat near us later in the afternoon and there food came out very shortly after ordering? Portions not very large and overpriced. Nicely turned out and presented but I will not be rushing back. The desserts were £10 each. Very toppy. Shame

We had a great time at The George. Four of us for dinner and staying over, taking advantage of a weekend offer. The rooms are really comfortable and we had an excellent dinner, the food is lovely and generous. What made it though is the great staff looking after us and the hotel ambience - it has been updated fairly recently and they've made a good job of it, it's a nice place to be. Couldn't have asked for more.

Four of us booked for lunch in the pub on a Wednesday. It is a very convenient meeting point just off the A1 and there is free parking around the back for patrons. We were given a table near the main entrance which was possibly not ideal but turned out OK. The staff were cheerful and helpful. The menu covers all the bases. The food was of a good standard and the sundae for dessert was a masterpiece. It was a very pleasant experience in a relaxed atmosphere. £140 for the four of us, including drinks, mains and desserts, which is undoubtedly very good value for the quality and quantity of what we had. We will definitely be back but maybe book the restaurant rather than the pub.

My wife and I chose to stay at the George again while we were attending Huntingdon Races and since our last visit the hotel has changed dramatically. It was an old coaching inn and has been around for hundreds of years but since lockdown a vast amount of money has been spent on redevelopment. I liked the changes as it now resembled a smart London style hotel but sadly my wife was less enthusiastic. Yes the character of the hotel has changed dramatically and no longer resembles an old inn but it is quite smart. The rooms are pleasant and the food is very good. The staff were excellent and very helpful, if we hadn't stayed at the hotel previously then we probably would have thought it was a rather nice hotel but I have to agree with my wife that a great deal of the old world charm has gone.

This is a review of the restaurant. It was excellent. Superb ambience (sit in the conservatory, not the rather dismal bar area). Splendid Sunday meal (although I will ask for the beef to be "well done" next time -- my medium was a little on the pale side. Sensible staff who knew what they were doing. A very pleasing experience.

Spent two nights in a very nice room with a comfortable bed. The hotel was clean and well furnished and the food was a high standard - in a group of eight nobody complained about any of the meals. So well done the chefs. All the staff members were pleasant and helpful. I would recommend this hotel to anybody visiting the area.
