Quite a nice hotel. Peaceful, right in the forest with the hot spring baths in the hotel. Surprisingly we were not received by anyone when arrived, nobody came out to help with the luggage and in the lobby we had to look for a receptionist:)) However, looks like they were changin

This hotel is just beside the Slope so you can access by any time. the Onsen was excellent. Dinner Kaiseki was delicious. I think it is such a perfect place to relax.

The Japanese Room at the Zao Kokusai Hotel
Hi all, thanks for the all the helpful review of the hotel. I was reading on the reviews and it mentioned that one can book guides, tours and ski classes at the hotel lobby. Any idea which ski school it is and for which slope? do they have classes in English as well? Trying to book classes in English but doesnt seem to find any so far.
Dear Nanaism, did you find English ski lessons at Zao? Would appreciate any recommendation. Thanks!

Hi - do children 5 years old or younger eat breakfast/dinner for free?
"Think - Japanese Style living at floor level is physically challenging for over 3 night stay. They have western as well as Japanese style"
"Our room was the top floor suite facing the Ski slope "Yokokura" and Zao ropeway "Sanchosen" see pic"
"Choose a traditional tatami room. it's more fun."
"Get a corner room facing ski slope"
"I would recommend to stay in rooms overlooking the skiing area of Zao."
