The good. Restaurant and food was lovely The bad. Everything else Stayed for 1 night, initially it looks nice but as you go upstairs to the rooms you step back to 1980, my room was so drab with a nice view of the kitchen extraction fans and when you opened the window I got a lovely waft of chip fat 🤮🤮 The bed was uncomfortable and not that clean the quilt cover was very washed out , the bed squeaked at even the slightest of movement. Definitely won’t stay again, will stick to Premire inns in the future.

I stayed here as part of the Scottish Stitching Retreat weekend in October 2021. The staff are always very friendly and accommodating and will always find a solution to problems no matter how small they are. You can be sure of being greeted with a smile when you first get there and again when you check-out. Even in the bar, the staff were super brilliant. I had three incredible lattes expertly prepared by the staff. I didn’t realise it at the time but the guy who served me on the Sunday was the owner of the hotel, and it just goes to show how the staff are a well-knit team, no matter what position they hold. He even offered to bring the coffee to my table in the stitching room. First class service once again offered with a smile. I am already signed up for the next retreat and am looking forward to the high quality service once again! Thank you to everyone who works there. It is always a joy to go to these weekends!

My wife had a arranged for a birthday meal to celebrate my 50th with my family and close friends at the Cary Grill. Even though it wasn't a "party" as such, the hotel made it feel like that. They went to the effort of supplying personalised menus for the tables, displayed my birthday cake on their own cake stand and table and a proper cake knife. They even arranged for their resident DJ to have music playing and a few flashing lights for background music. Everyone had a fantastic meal and raved about how good it was. My wife and I were staying in the hotel, so were able to enjoy a lovely breakfast as well. Our 19 month old baby woke up during the night looking for a bottle and the hotel night reception were only to happy to go and get us some warm milk. Even when we overslept and were a bit late for the breakfast, we phoned down and they took our breakfast order over the phone so it would be ready for us coming downstairs. We just can't rave on about this hotel and the lovely staff enough. Every time we go, the place just gets better and better. Looking forward to a kids-free night away next.

My wife and me celebrated our Golden Wedding Anniversary At Castlecary House Hotel, with a group of 115 guests, I should point out that there was three other events taking place on Saturday 02 October 21, another Golden Wedding, a 70th Birthday and an 80th Birthday, I have mentioned these other functions in order to display the amount of work that had taken place in organising, laying out and catering, and give an idea of how hard the staff had worked on this evening. Preparation and planning for our event was excellent, management constantly kept in touch at a difficult time during the pandemic. Our special event was held in a formal manner with the manager, Gerry Cooney carrying out Master Of Ceremony. From arrival late afternoon till midnight the celebrations were absolutely fantastic. The bar functioned well throughout, service was constant and well managed, the meal was well presented and enjoyed by all, provision for children, and those of special dietary requirements were provided. Good efficient service by staff meant the meal was not taking time out of the following celebrations. I cannot praise the management and staff enough for making our special milestone in life indeed very special, and guests have also commented on their enjoyment also. As mentioned earlier in my review that there was a total of four functions that staff had to provide a service for, with this in mind the manner in which our event was successful in every way and pressure of work on the hotel staff on this evening must have been intensive. After a very comfortable overnight stay and enjoyable breakfast we departed for home, only to be bombarded by phone calls from our guests who had a tremendously enjoyable evening, in conclusion I thank Gerry and Fiona and all the staff at Castlecary House Hotel, for an evening that everybody present enjoyed. Thank You.
