Calayo beach resort composed of several nipa huts where one could stay for the night. Name is a misnomer as it is not a beach resort. It is far from beach. Problem with huts - tiny aircon, uncomfortable sleeping in bamboo beds with thin cotton mattress. Huts very warm.

I booked this resort through Agoda. It was not properly represented therein that we will be getting a kubo (P3,500/night peak season) which does not have its own bathroom, aircondition, stove and refrigerator etc. You have to use a public CR which is practically not used by anyone else so it's clean, and the BBQ area which provides wood for those who will grill their food (be sure to bring your own charcoal). While the kubo is cute and back-to-basic type of accommodation, it is not so comfortable if you have 2 kids and 2 dogs with you.

BTW, it's best to call up the resort first before booking any rooms so they can tell you if there are still available bamboo rooms (P5,500 peak season) this room have all the amenities mentioned above plus towels but no toothbrushes. I also suggest that you check Metrodeal for any promotions so you will get the rooms at a cheaper price. Be sure to get the Bamboo House.

The kubo can accomodate upto 5 people while the bamboo house can accommodate more than 6 (I think upto 10 people can still sleep comfortably since there are about 5 big beds but they only allow upto 6 pax)

Fortunately, when we waited there, a bamboo house became available. Did I mention that the Bamboo House has a Hot and Cold shower? It also has cabinets, bedroom, split level with beds, kitchen (with plates, spoon and fork, mugs, bowls, kettles, pots and frying pan) and living room and you can bring your furry family (pets). No TV here so it's great to connect better with your loved ones.

We really liked this resort with its peaceful and calm ambience. It is fairly new being in business for only a year. The place looks provincial and the garden is so beautiful and colorful. The mountainous background, clear blue skies and carabaos grazing the field completes the picture of the provincial life.

The staff (Ms. Michelle) is very friendly and accommodating and she's a Filipina who can speak fluent Italian. I think the place is also managed by Italians. It is cute that they already know how to speak a little in Filipino. They can also shop for you if you want to get seafoods. They have a store too and restaurant.

The resort is about 80 meters away from the beach but we don't mind the walk since being far from the beach gives you more peace and quiet. The beach is nice with fine sand and calm and clear water. Beware of jellyfishes though.

As a down side, they don't provide free breakfast. The swimming pool was greenish and swamplike. I think their filter was not working well at that time. There is no Globe or Smart signal here. If there is, it is very weak. Likewise, no internet signal in the rooms even if you're using your own data. They do have at the restaurant but it is slow. Probably, this is for the best if you want to disconnect and get away from city problems.

Overall, I recommend this place for its cleanliness and environment friendly design and beauty.

I felt disappointed after we have reached this so called beach resort!

After our almost 3 hours trip we finally reached the place only to find out that the place is quite small and even its swimming pool is only good for a family! We arrived at 12:00 noon and was not allowed to check in since the room we have reserved is not yet clean according to the receptionist. So we decided to eat in their restaurant which looks more of an eatery but with prices that can be compared to class restaurants in Tagaytay.

At 1:30pm we were finally allowed to checked in and again I felt disappointed with the room which I paid for Php5,500.All their amenities looked old and worn out!Their towels looked more of a rug,the kitchen utensils are of the cheapest brand, the pots and pans were all dirty, the bed sheets are all faded and shouldn't be used anymore, the pillows are just as old as the bedsheets with stains on it!

Worst part of our stay was when we were about to sleep,I could hardly close my eyes for fear of having insect and roaches bites aside from the rooms were very hot since the aircon is only .5hp to think that we were occupying a bamboo house with 2 rooms and an attic!Only 1 room has an electric fan so we asked for another one but was charged to pay 300 pesos...

I would NOT recommend this place since the price you will pay is not worth it!Beside the fact that it is not a beach resort since it doesn't have its own access to the beach and their customers have to walk around 80 meters in order to enjoy the beach.

This gorgeous resort/hotel is an absolute gem😊....smack bang in front of the beach...you can literally jump off from the balcony and into the water😀😆😂

The hotel has 10 humongous rooms....each has two queen size beds and the room can accommodate up to 12 guests!!!.. (...with extra cushions provided).

The restaurant on the 3rd floor has spectacular views to die for. It has almost 360degree view of the surroundings...beach and mountains😊😊....(not to mention the finger licking goodness of food the resto can offer😀)..

The resort has a magnificent modern infinity pool...And at night looks even more magical.😍😍😍

The resort offer water activities like paddle surfing, canoing and kayaking...Walking along the beach and the
nearby sand bar is so relaxing...😀😎😍
..
So don't take my word for it....do try it....and I'm absolutely sure you will fall in love with the place.😍😍😍...and you will keep coming back....almost guaranteed!!!😊😊

This (fairly new) resort is truly a tranquil place for a well deserved (short) break. The resort is situated just outside the Calayo Barangay, which's outskirts you'll pass when you walk towards the beach. The beach is only a 300 meters walk away from the resort.

We booked a Bamboo House with a kitchen, large bathroom and two bedrooms (one with a big 2 persons bed, one with two one person beds) for four people. Everthing was OK, except the matrasses on the beds were a bit thin. Therefore the beds were hard to lie on. But by using a second matras we all slept well.

For each breakfast and dinner we used the restaurant at the resort. This was run by a very friendly lady who prepared / cooked our food with passion. The only thing we had to do is order what we wanted to eat some hours in advance and she would buy / get the ingredients freh from the Calayo Barangay market.

The service at the resort was also very good. Since we chose this resort too for some scuba diving (f.e. Long Beach) it's even possible to book the owner's car who'll bring you to and pick you up at Punta Fuego to make your dive. It's only 7 kilometers away from the resort and the the use of the car costed only 40 PHP per kilometer. The lady at the reception desk will make an appointment and book the dive at Punta Fuego Resort.

We stayed for four days and enjoyed everything the resort had to offer !

Went here for a team building for 10 pax. We have 2 floor bamboo style accomodation. It has 3 rooms and 1 bath (spacious enough) only. Very small living room and smaller kitchen . Though there is a veranda with table and a long chair.

Pool = they only have 1 pool and its not that big. We are lucky there are only few guests otherwise we will look like a school of sardines swimming on that pool.

Restaurant = one restaurant on site and the service is terrible. We ordered our food for lunch and they forgot to bring us the rice. They said we didnt order for a rice. Wow its really frustrating.

Beach = 5 to 10min walk to the beach. Its the worst beach ive been. The place is littered with lots of dirt ( styro cups, plastics, tree branches and so fort..) just by walking on the sand in the water you can really feel that it is very soapy. It seems like all the drainage coming from resort and houses are all going straight to the beach. Its a total mess considering they charge environmental fee?? These people are worst

Area = the resort is fronting a farm land and mountain. I think this is the only beauty in the area. And nothing else.

Ammenity : karaoke in one kubo house ( enough to fit our group).

Note: sorry i dont know the exact price, i didnt ask my manager. But i guess roughly 20k for 10 pax for 1 night. Im not a hater but im not going back to that place.

The restort is inside a valley and the sea is a big bay. The resort is new, beautifully wood and concrete house made respecting the environment. Swimming pool near the restaurant. The food is a great Italian and Filipino food. The restaurant have longanisa buffalo like Italian pasta and Italian wines. The breakfast have Filipino classic or espresso coffee and teas. The resort is peaceful and green with banana trees and good maintenance. Clean in the private and in the common parts. Near the resort the beach is not super heart but the resort have also private ship and there are really beautiful place around spending 30 minutes by boat. I can suggest this place for couple that want relax, like for family because there are different accommodation. I add some pictures.

This seems to be a small but popular resort for Koreans, it has a pool, food, etc., but the huts seem a bit old & the beach was small & dirty- prices were good though. Not sure I would go back? Nice if the weather is good.
