I could write so many good things about this hotel during my stay in September 2020. The highlights: The breakfast staff working at the L’ Etoile are a delight. I was genuinely sad to be saying goodbye after just one week. They all work so hard and were a joy to see each morning. The Azzuro Pool Bar in the Adult Area - the barman is so good at his job and always has a friendly smile. From the second day he could remember which drink I wanted even before I asked. If you are a couple without children or travelling solo, I would thoroughly recommend paying the extra for a room in the Adults Only area. It is like an oasis of tranquillity. The Coffee House - the gentleman working there was always so welcoming. The coffee, cakes, service were all delightful. Gondola Pool Bar & Restaurant - What a wonderful place to dine with a table by the pool. The food is as amazing as the service. Asian Corner - wonderful food and service under the stars. Just be careful on the evenings when the wind gets up (hold on to your hat, wine glass and everything else on the table). Reception - a lovely experience to check in/check out and always helpful when needed. The Golf Buggy Drivers - Always polite and gave a wave. A brilliant idea for a complex this size. The Crystal Lounge Bar - A great place to sit and watch the world pass by while sipping on a cocktail or G&T. Covid Security - From what I could see each day, the staff went above and beyond to ensure everyone was safe. Even with masks on, I could still see the smile in their eyes and they worked so hard to try to make the holiday seem as normal as possible in these strange times. I told the breakfast staff at the L’ Etoile that I would be coming back and hope to do so in September 2022, or sooner if possible. The location of the complex is ideal if you are looking for a getaway from it all. A few niggles: The service in the Crystal Lounge Bar could be a little hit and miss depending on which staff were on. It seemed almost like there was an 'A Team' who were totally on the ball, smiling and greeting people, taking orders and working at lightning speed, and a not so enthusiastic 'B Team' who often walked past without taking an order, taking one or two glasses away from a table while trying to look busy. The doors to the outside seating area were constantly open, which meant I could often get a nose full of smoke drifting in from outside, which could be irritating. On those occasions I moved away to a seat further from the doorway, but this is something which could be remedied easily. The food and drinks were of a high standard, topped off with some brilliant, welcoming service.…
We stayed here for 10 nights at the end of October half term two of us and our 4 year old Granddaughter rather than list all the great things about the hotel that other reviewers have said which we totally agree with I think it only correct to comment on some of the wonderful colleagues that work there, we cannot mention all but overall the customer service is excellent from the man who cleans early every morning the sunbeds and the beach bar area putting up the sun umbrella as soon as you sit down and cleans as soon as you vacate the sunbeds/tables, the Reception team, porters and cleaners, bar staff and Restaurant staff and management and room cleaners. Our Granddaughter went to the Children's club every day(apart from Sunday when its closed) the two girls Alixe and Ruby that run the club are excellent In the Restaurant Hassan who serves some of the outside tables is always so happy and cheerful and not forgetting the sprout man Ioannis (He thought I loved Sprouts I don't but now our Granddaughter does !!) The Restaurant manager even made some available as a joke for us by the egg station for Breakfast !! There was another lady whose name I have forgotten who was also excellent serving the inside tables nothing too much trouble for her. Lastly a Lady called Georgia who mainly works in the Gondola Restaurant every lunchtime she is a absolute star not only a very fast server but great in in engaging customers nothing too much trouble for her Thanks to all for a Wonderfull stay !!…
I’m a bit late posting this , we came in September for a week , on half board basis , we had a fantastic room really big , just by the lovely pools , the food in the main restaurant was excellent, and Covid safe with the staff placing the food on your plate , also there was a little coffee shop on the complex which served cake , sandwiches drinks etc . There was a little shop at the end of the drive where you buy snacks and wine and souvenirs. We took a taxi to Rhodes town , and had a lovely lunch there , and because of the current climate was really quite. We’d definitely go back to La Marquise .
We've been going to Greece for over 35 years and this is the best Greek hotel so far. The staff are friendly, helpful and efficient Not just the Reception staff - all of them! The hotel campus is well designed with the main accommodation area having several interlinked pools. There were plenty of sun beds and shades. The food was well presented, well cooked, great quality - we never got bored - but if we had there's also an Asian restaurant on the roof. House wine was reasonably priced. Slight niggles: - the beach is far from picturesque and stony - we stayed by the pool - plastic shoes advised. There are plenty of beds though and a cash bar. - in this area there aren't any nearby tavernas or restaurants (but Rhodes city is only 25 minutes on the bus) - the management seems to think we can't get through life without constant tinny music. In the gardens and around the pools there are faux rocks with speakers constantly playing music. - it's a matter of taste but for me I could have been quite happy without the evening "entertainment" - not down to the hotel but some parents need to explain the difference between a playground and a hotel bar. - room TV Internet was useless - Wi-Fi good throughout…
We stayed in October half term which was the last week before the close season - we were a party of 5 adults with a 4 year old and a 2 year old. Firstly the grounds of the hotel are beautiful, so spacious and immaculately clean, the whole hotel was gleaming - everything felt so covid safe. The staff are simply wonderful - every single staff member was so so helpful and friendly and they are so dedicated to making you have a wonderful holiday - they are all such a credit to the hotel. The food... well wow can honestly say some of the food was simply outstanding and really blew us away - without doubt some of the best all inclusive food we have ever had. Everything is so fresh and the portions very generous. The desserts were to die for and the presentation was unreal. The pools are huge and so well kept. My little boy went in the kids club most days he really enjoyed it, it’s great how the little pool is just outside the kids club so he could come and go as he pleased. The singers on the night were brilliant, we really enjoyed their music, they were so talented. We struggled to think of anything negative about our whole week we had such an amazing relaxing time and we would without a doubt come back (we never normally return to the same hotel twice) we were so sad to leave. One thing as a suggestion - it would have been good to have somewhere to get a quick bite to eat for the kids, pizza/burgers chips etc - I know you can get this sort of thing in the main restaurant but if you are just round the pool and didn’t want to go to the main restaurant - just a suggestion though, no great issue. …
