We had an excellent stay - friendly staff, nice clean room, good food and drinks and relaxed (dog friendly) atmosphere. We came here after our travel plans were disrupted due to the EU borders closing. So although we would have rather seen family for Christmas, Ravenstone manor was a very good alternative! The Christmas dinner was excellent.
We stayed at this hotel in mid March just before the seriousness of the Covid 19 virus was fully appreciated. The staff were wonderful, totally relaxed, the hotel well run and the bedrooms comfortable with wonderful views across Bassenthwaite to the mountains with snow capped peaks in the distance. The restaurant offered a lovely ambiance and very tasty food. We chose it initially because of their reputation for welcoming dogs which was definitely true but us humans also had a lovely short break and would recommend it to everyone.
Enjoyed a lovely 2 night break. (16-18 Dec) The hotel was comfortable and beautifully decorated for Christmas. Everywhere was spotlessly clean and our room was warm and well equipped. The hotel is perfect for dogs. There is a warm water hose/sink outside for cleaning off muddy mutts. There are also towels in the foyer to wipe down wet paws. The real gems of this hotel are its staff. They couldn’t do enough for us and our dog. They were attentive, despite being busy. We look forward to a return visit soon.
Just spent two amazing nights at the Ravenstone. Fantastic atmosphere in authentic surroundings. Loved the large comfy settees in the lounge. Bar service was excellent. Food was amazing. Staff so friendly and helpful. Daren’t mention the king size bed! So comfortable we missed breakfast on the first morning! Cannot wait to go back!
This is one of the most relaxing hotels that I have ever stayed at. The staff do their utmost to make sure ones stay is is memorable, nothing is too much trouble for them. We stayed for two nights, our room and bathroom were spotlessly clean and anti-Covid guidelines and procedures were adhered to religiously. The food is nice, the public rooms are comfortable and also delightfully decorated for the festive period. It is so quiet here, it really generates a feel-good effect. I wouldn’t hesitate to return for another stay.
