Stayed 2 nights in December. Although there were restrictions due to covid we had a wonderful stay. Staff were friendly and attentive. Food was really nice. Room was clean and tidy. Was a little bit cold even with radiators on and the bathroom had a window next to shower which made me feel abit exposed. But they didn't effect my stay or put me off going again. Gemma in the restaurant was fantastic. Service with a smile. Pool was slightly cold but not freezing. Just a cold time of the year though.
We spent three nights here as we explored the Lake District. The location is away from the hustle and bustle of the main towns, which is a positive advantage at the current time. From arrival to departure, the staff were welcoming and helpful. We had dinner in the restaurant each evening and breakfast each morning, all of which has to be booked in terms of timing because of covid reduced capacity. Covid precautions were well-managed. Our dinners were excellent, with a changing menu between dinner and the bar menus and a reasonable wine list, so that we were able to enjoy a different selection each day. The hotel needs to be congratulated on this in the current circumstances. The breakfasts were stellar, with a great Full English breakfast that kept us going through the day. With current precautions, rooms are not serviced daily, but the reception staff provided us with supplementary bathroom accessories and tea bags as required, plus a shoe cleaner which I needed after one of our days out in the rain!! We had a thoroughly enjoyable time and I would happily stay here again.…
Purchased via Groupon. Very friendly and helpful staff right from the word go. Room was a little dated with lumpy bed and was informed this was the best of the standard rooms.heating didn't work and shower was faulty. Staff were amazing and gave us a room change with free upgrade to junior suite. Would definitely recommend those rooms. Facilities clean and pool allocations a great idea. Breakfasts lovely but for me as a vegan and celiac the choice in the restaurant in the evening was limited although the curry was delicious. I would recommend the sunn Inn 1 mile away for food. Overall, the staff were so lovely. Hotel ticked the boses and great location.dont expect much from a standard room. I would out them in a budget room catagory if I'm honest and sad we lost a night in this before moving to a better room. …
Just had a three night stay The staff were superb and could not do enough for us and nothing was too much trouble. The menu was a good choice and the food was superb, the room was great We had a great stay thanks to the great staff and not forgetting the great kitchen and bar staff
The waiter was very welcoming and friendly. The sausage and mash was to die for, by far the best I’ve had, full of flavour and very well presented. The sticky toffee was also very enjoyable. All homemade too. Definitely a hidden gem and we will definitely be back. Highly recommend!
