This is a beautiful property, but it lacks professional staff. When you come to (and pay for) a resort you expect a level of service and professionalism. It just isn’t here. I am a Hyatt Explorist. I have some loyalty to this brand and I pay for it. I shouldn’t have to explain my benefits to the trainee at check in and I shouldn’t have to ask for water in the room—those are supposed to be givens. There was no upgrade offered or given. There was no ‘hello’. The food service is just a nightmare. There seems to be little management in the kitchen. Food does appear when the kitchen processes it. The poor wait staff takes the brunt, but the kitchen/ chefs don’t have a good system. Jose Ivan at the beach / kayak assist area was terrific. He made our day fun and was safe, professional and knowledgeable. And Lysette at the pool was the same—fun, friendly and helpful. Put those two in management! And have them train others and this could be such an amazing place! Wonderful beach. Lovely place. Do rent a car to get off property and explore the area and go to nearby restaurants. There is a lot to see and do here and it could be a destination. We are rooting for this Hyatt. Get it right and be a star location in the chain!

Visited this property for a wedding happening in the area. It's right on the beach and the pools are very spacious. My daughters enjoyed every minute of our stay. I would definitely come back to visit. Just wish the poolside menu was more extensive.

This resort has a very nice setting and is a good alternative if you are looking for something away from San Juan. The grounds are nice, the pools are pretty, and the rooms are very comfortable. But it does not offer a top-notch luxury experience, so it will be fine if you do not go expecting one. I read the reviews here on Tripadvisor before going, so was prepared. Some good and some pretty bad: The rooms are comfortable and ample, with great beds and bedding. We most liked that they are in separate building blocks each of no more than two floors, so no need to be in crowded elevators like the San Juan resorts. This was a big plus for us with kids who do not have the Covid vaccine. Rooms are far apart and you will walk, but we did not mind this. The rooms are reminiscent of Melia hotels (with combined tub and shower rooms), as this was once a Gran Melia before Hyatt took it over. The pool is nice with plenty of loungers, but it is loud, loud, loud. There was lots of music being played at high volumes (both by the hotel and by separate guests who brought their own speakers). If that is the atmosphere you seek, you will find it here. Granted, that is common for Puerto Rico resorts, as many guests do want a party atmosphere. For more relaxation, there is a separate "quiet" pool, but this has no services (food or beverage). If you are really want relaxation and luxury, pay a lot more for the St. Regis nearby, or the Ritz in Dorado. Staff are mostly very kind, but not always great at follow-through. You might have to ask for things a couple times. And you will often have to wait in long lines to get service at the front desk, leave the self-park parking lot, and generally have food brought out at restaurants. And often the phone is just not answered... So when you call to ask something at the front desk, or to have a golf-cart come and pick you up, there simply is no answer. This happened many times to us during our stay, as well as to other parties in our group. The food is just not good. The food truck by the pool has cafeteria-quality burgers and other items, but none are at all of good quality. The breakfast buffet is expensive (as expected at a resort) but very mediocre. Was it fine? Sure... But definitely not luxurious or impressive. The "Italian" restaurant serves pretty bad pasta, and barely-okay pizza. The lobby bar charges a ton for packaged chips and guac poured on plate... And cheese and tomato skewers that are composed of processed cheese served with a couple cherry tomatoes. There is an upscale Japanese restaurant and a steakhouse, but it is hard to get a reservation. The food and beverage program should really be improved. Also note, there are not many options except for roadside or chain restaurants anywhere within 30 mins of the hotel. Overall... Go with lowered expectations and you will have a fine time at this good but generic resort with comfortable rooms. I chalk it up to covid-era service challenges that are common in the travel industry now and hope the future will be brighter for this Hyatt.

Rooms were clean as well as hotel. Personnel was very charming a caring! Pool service was excellent! Breakfast and bar snack are very expensive! They charge you a lot in tips, taxes and hidden fees on every order.

I fell in love with this location, the resort was amazing, beautiful, super clean, and private. From the pool area to the beach to the beautiful palm trees everywhere, clear beach waters, my husband had a blast with his snorkel gear, he practically used it almost everyday. In all love, love, love
