We stayed in Black Bower for 2 nights on our South Coast tour. Perfect for a short stay or base for a longer stay. Fabulous setting and high quality accomodation in the natural bushland environment. We had no idea the properties were recently rebuilt following bushfires etc. What a great job and we will certainly be back. If you like peaceful villa type stays overseas you'll love this place.

I don’t even know where to start about this place, there’s nothing else like it. If you want to relax and switch off in luxury then this is the place for you! What a serene location in the bush, peaceful & quiet, enjoyed the birds & wildlife , and just relaxing and do nothing! We stayed in the White bower with the pink walls, the ultimate spa bower for 3 nights for our anniversary. We also had a massage package & cheese platter add on’s They’ve thought of everything to make your stay special - the fire place, the spa bath, under floor heating in the bathroom, heated towel rack, local soap, tea light candles, bath robes & slippers, speakers in the bathroom- pack your fav CD from home if you have any. The place also smells incredible. The views are like nothing else- although they’ve recently had a fire that luckily missed the 2 bowers close by, it’ll give the area a fresh chance to regrow with fresh vegetation. The kitchen is fully equipped, we brought food from home so we hardly had to leave our bower (Except for getting good coffee at the Mossy cafe, and our attempt for dinner at Smokey Dan’s on Monday night only to find they are closed on Monday’s haha) the local beaches are also worth a visit, a paddle in the lagoon at Candlagan creek with the pristine clear water. Breakfast was included and a nice touch, everything was already in our bower on arrival so we weren’t disturbed- one serve of bacon, eggs & sausage with bread, a fruit bowl full for yourself & the birds if you wish, cereal, milk, butter, croissants & jam. T2 teas- and loose leaf with a tea pot, Nespresso coffee machine & 2 Noah’s juices! The small touches they’ve thought of is what truely makes this place amazing- the fire place was all set ready to light with kindling, pre cut fire wood ready, birdseed under the sink to attract the locals. You don’t get that in other places We added the recommendation of adding bigger TV’s /smart TVs for the future, to enjoy a movie before bed, understandably you’re not there to watch TV. Once NBN is in this might be more possible as currently the Wifi is ADSL so not super reliable but it’s there, Mark and Sue we’re happy to take our feedback and recommendations for improvement which is amazing We will be back for sure! Thanks for a fab stay

Thanks for such a comprehensive and constructive review Brooke. We DO appreciate your feedback and I've already passed it on to our servicing team. We will be including your suggestions in our future plans and hope we'll be able to offer a real streaming service in the not too distant future, for those who want it. We love the coffee and brunch at the Mossy Cafe too and it's a shame that you missed Smokey Dan's as if you like smoked brisket and/or smoked rib, it's "to die for". We look forward to having the opportunity to welcome you back to The Bower on another occasion, when you have the opportunity. Warm regards, Mark & Sue

Serene setting amongst the coastal forest yet only a few minutes to great beaches, shops, cafes etc. 5 brilliantly designed super comfortable modern cottages nestled amongst the trees with lots of birdlife, etc to enjoy. A real hidden gem. Lovely hosts Mark and Sue were very welcoming. Also have a retro Caravan that looks lie a great set up for a couple to glamp.

I was looking for somewhere really special for our 5th wedding anniversary and The Bower didn't disappoint. It was so quiet and picturesque, just like having your own private hideaway with just nature for company. My wife loved feeding the birds in the mornings and even had them perching on her hand to feed. We'll certainly be back again.

A truly beautiful place, We stayed in the premier spa cabin and didn't want to leave. This place is a true romantic escape! The property resembles a secluded nature reserve yet is only 5 minutes out of town and from the beach. The locals i.e the Rosellas, king parrots, lorikeets and kookaburras are so friendly and will eat from the hand. Yes even the kooka! We even saw a cheeky little echidna!! The cabin is devine, the fire place is easy to use and well stocked. The spa is perfect for 2 as was the shower. The bed is ginormous and super comfy but it was a battle to choose between sleeping in front of the fire or snuggle in bed. There was nothing that wasn't provided, the kitchen had all you could need, the bbq was clean and easy to use. The fridge was full size and the washer and dryer was also a great addition. The staff were friendly and because the place is so well looked after we only saw them at check in and check out. I cannot praise here enough. We will be back!
