I was a guest at the same time last year and stayed at the same room. A new hammock was added to the veranda, the air conditioning is new and noiseless. The staff has been there for 10 years and the same standards of cleanliness and honesty are kept. I was leaving my IPAD behind and the cleaning lady caught me as my taxi was about to leave. We had a charming Christmas eve with delicious stuffed turkey, grilled fish, whole rice and two different salads + local live music. Beers are always colder than elsewhere and a good sample of caipirinhas are prepared on the spot with local fruits. Breakfast is a must. Fruits and juices are accompanied by different tapiocas dishes, cakes and eggs. English and French are spoken and Sophie, our kind host, is able to address any question.

We were here for 4 nights, nice place with a great beach. The beach is a walk for 20 minutes but worth it! Best best in Bahia. The restaurant next door has got nice pizza's! And in the little village there are a view more restaurant. But al local dus don't expect the commercial restaurants. It's a lovely place to stay. you can relax like you've never done before. It's nice to book a room with an AC. Our little boy (two years old) loved to stay here.

A friend a I have just spent 5 days at TooCool. It is just the perfect place if you like chilling out in a quiet atmosphere in the middle of a postcard paradisiac scenery, surrounded by trees, river, dunes and coconut trees beach, wide and as long as the eye can see. The Belgium owner Sophie and her Brazilian colleague Cleio were really welcoming, relaxed and helpful. The village is close to more touristic and crowded beaches, but it is REALLY QUIET, and one can enjoy the feeling of wilderness and quietness.
Accomodation is simple but comfortable. We particularly recommend to stay in room named "Turkey", a bit more expensive but it worth it: it oversees the river and dunes and makes you feel you are alone on earth.
Definitely the place to stop by and relax if you are in Bahia province, for few night or a longer while

This was the highlight of our trip to bahia. We stayed 4 nights and found all aspects of our stay excellent.

The location is unbelievable, with extensive well kept gardens leading down through trees to a beutiful lake with walkway that turns into unbelievable dunes slowly rolling onto a deserted tropical beach. A real fisherman's village is nearby and there are a number of great places to eat just up the road.

This place was so relaxing, I spent a lot of time in the hammock just looking and the scenery.
Room was great with a nice bathroom, sofa, large mosqioto net and nice decor.

Staff where very helpful, offering good advice and even a lift to the shops!

Arriving to that privileged small portion of paradise was a pure delight and as people imagine it you are greeted by angels :-)
Sophie, the owner speaks perfect French (as from Belgium originally) and English and made us feel at home immediately showing us around this original ensemble of pavilions and bedrooms and explaining the way to the beach trough a lush vegetation path and river...There are open huts as a small bar and breakfast place, one for leisure, playing music, watching films, an interesting sauna hut and a ping pong table as well as a barbecue. All this around an enormous mango tree and in a large tropical garden. Hammocks everywhere to relax and enjoy the breathtaking view. You feel like in a lodge much more than in a hotel and the ambiance is quite romantic...The breakfast is very good with a different fresh juice every day and various home made jams. Rooms are cleaned to perfection, are simply furnished but the beds are very comfortable with fans or fans and air con if you wish.
Don't go if you want a 5 stars crowded resort with little character by the beach. Go if you can appreciate a 20 minutes walk through tropical vegetation, sand dunes, splendid coconut trees and if you are ready to cross the river trough the water (although there is a path with bridge) Once at the beach it's splendid, deserted, perfect but with your 2 to 3 local thatched huts and parasols where you can eat scrumptious simple food and drink directly from the coconuts. It's also a protected reserve for tortoises and you could see posts indicated their place.
The pousada is situated in a small brazilian authentic village off the touristic beaten track with a few restaurants and a local shop, if you want to have more night activities you can go to the next village which is bigger and offers more possibilities.
The only downside of paradise is mosquitoes although this place is better than others, bring plenty of repellent and pest killer and if you are extra sensitive ask Sophie for a room with a mosquito net.
Don't forget to bring your toiletries as there are none except for small soaps.
I would recommend this place to everyone. We took a basic room with air con, but here are 2 new beautiful huts with a balcony offering a stunning view and king beds. This place is also a good value compared to other places in the same area. The ride to Diogo is very quick (1h) via a good road from the airport and you should book a Taxi in advance via Sophie as she has a better rate and service than anybody else!
I'll be back as soon as I could thanks for a great stay!
