I did not have other option for staying in Gokak other than this property. Its an old hotel but maintained well. Rooms are spacious. Some rooms are fitted with window ac"s and some fitted with Split Units. They look old and not sure how effective they are as i opted for Non AC room. Tariff is reasonable, may be a bit higher, as there are no amenities other than a restaurant and bar in this Hotel. People are nice and food is good, though a bit pricey. Reception was kind enough to change my room as ceiling fan was making too much noise. Best way to reach this hotel is to get down at Gokak Road Station or Ghataprabha Station and take a bus or rickshaw. These stations are between Belagavi and Miraj Juntions . Hotel is located 1.5 kms from State Bus Stand. This place is famous for dry fruit sweet called "Karadant" which is available at "Sadanand Sweets" near Bus Stand. You can request for its sample to taste and then decide to buy or not.
Gokak Falls is about 5 Kms from the Hotel. There are private mini buses which run between Gokak Bus Stand and Gokak Road Railway Station which pass thru Gokak Falls Location.
This property has enough car parking space
Poor rooms, poor sanitation, poor food hygiene, poor amenities, no chair in the room, the phone does not work in the room, the staff is untrained. You may not like it but you may have to still stay here as there are not many options in this town.
I was here with my family a week back. We reached the hotel at around 1 am in the night. The night watchman gave us the room keys as per the discussion with the Hotel Manager. Hence checking-in was no hassle at all.
On the other hand, it was very nice of the manager to leave the keys with the watchman.
The room was of standard size. Room and the bathroom both were clean.
The breakfast was decent. Don't expect a good south Indian breakfast with steaming idlis. We checked-out after breakfast.
Overall it was a good stay of not more than 10 hrs.
I was told by a family member that this is the only place in Gokak for a family to stay. Although I havent bothered to check other places, I wouldn't mind staying here once again for a day or two max if we decided to visit Gokak in rains to view the famous Gokak waterfall.
The resort is Generally for local people travelling around and a misnomer RESORT. The room quality was just poor - bathrooms shabby and unlit. And sometimes bulbs removed to save electricity, a very noisy pump running intermittently any time of the day.
One day stay - restaurant is Hot and food most of it unavailable after 1500 Hrs.
Aircon worked OK.
Front desk guy Suleman - asked for deposit Rs. 1500 with assurance he will refund the cash when we swipe card at checkout, refused to accept committed action and insisted he never said it. !
Overall, Avoid staying here, nothing bright or great - just if you are compelled - then have no say or choice, just live time - and get out.
Gokak is a small place and has few lodges to stay. Goak Resort is a hotel located on the falls road. The rooms are large and clean but not well furnished. There is no lift and this may be a task for the senior citizens.Room service is quick and good. The hot water supply is ok.There is no space for kid to play and there are no other activities. It is just basic decent lodge for a family. The breakfast and lunch or dinner is good and best in town. The restaurant serves both veg and non-veg food, adequate in taste. It has an attached bar to serve liquor. In the absence of anything better this is a best option for family
