We stopped at La Bastiglia on a walking tour of Italy in May, 2019. Super place! the staff were spectacular. We were having one piece of luggage transported from hotel to hotel and, so some reason, the transport group missed this day so no luggage. But never fear, the staff of La Bastiglia were on the job and the luggage was found and delivered.
Super view from the room, and the dinner that night was the best of the whole month. We ended with drinks in front of the fireplace.
Fleeing a miserable time in Marche, we stumbled upon this beautiful place--the junior suite, Arianna. With its panoramic view of the Umbrian countryside, the suite also has a private elevator, jacuzzi tub, and a fireplace, along with a patio. Perhaps because it was before the season, the cost was remarkably reasonable.
The staff is attentive and helpful. The restaurant serves creative Umbrian fair.
If you go to Umbria, don't skip this hotel or Spello-both may take an effort to get there and are so worth it.
This hotel is located high on a hill overlooking gorgeous vistas. There are rooms in the hotel that enjoy this view and others that don't at all. The furnishings are tired, but the beds are clean and comfortable. From hearing from other hotel guests, many showers leaked various amount. Our stay was "fine". We did not have a room with any view. Would I go back to this hotel? ONLY if I could be guaranteed one of the 4 star rooms. Other than that, I would give it a pass.
The hotel is gorgeous, our room was great except for mini bar refrigerator that did not work. Bar is nice, perfect location for visiting Spello. Pool not working while we were there, hot tub is not free, both a little disappointing. Rooms are very comfortable, and setting is spectacular.
We stayed here for one night at the beginning of our cycling holiday and again at the end. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Our room was simply furnished but was a decent size and had a good view over the Umbrian countryside and a comfortable bed. We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner, sitting on the terrace with lovely views, good but inexpensive wine and very tasty food, especially the pasta course which was delicious. Breakfast was of the Continental type with a good choice of food. We were reluctant to leave but safe in the knowledge that we had a lovely hotel to return to at the end of a lot of cycling.
