We arrived un Goris late afternoon abd funda by accident thai hotel. After checking un and admiring the big and spacous room, we were offered dinner in the patio. This was more than an experience. We has the best dinner in Armenia. Hay a surprise, salads, cheese, local dishes in a huge variety, and everything server with splendid armenian wine. It was marvelous. More than recommendable.
I couldn’t figure out the TV or the shower and have no idea what I ate for dinner, but that’s part of the charm of staying in a small hotel. Very friendly staff and large rooms with modern bathroom made it a nice 1 night stay. I do wish the WiFi would have extended into my room but it worked fine in the “lobby.”
A good hotel in Goris. We booked the De Luxe Room and we are not disappointed: large room, comfortable bed, bathroom ok, cleaning, own parking. After all, the best of this hotel is not all this.
There is two things I would like remark:
-the food: there is a menu but if you ask for pork barbecue, you will taste the most tender pork for a little charge. If you like meat, don´t miss it! Remember that you must ask for it two hours at least before dinner.
-Armeni, one of the owner, a sensitive woman of exquisite treatment. She will do everything possible to make your stay perfect. When we left, she prayed for us; and believe me: if you are going to drive for Armenia an Georgia roads, is a good thing that someone prays for you (even if you are atheist)
Thank you, Armeni.
Absolutely friendly staff. Our room was really big and comfortable. Dinner was something amazing, we had totally full table of tasty food for great price. Also very cheap alcohol (mainly 20 years old Ararat brandy). You may also feel free to choose time for breakfast (we wanted to 6AM and it was not a problem). Free and private parking place in yard.
Only Wi-Fi signal could be stronger, mainly in room and also fan in bathroom was little bit a noisy.
If you are visiting Tatev monastery and the nearby attractions in Goris and intending to stay over (rather than do it as a long day trip from Yerevan), Christy Hotel would be a good choice both from a price and stay point of views. We stayed in a quadruple room which was considerably big with a spacious bathroom and a full size dining table. The room was very well kept, the house keeping standards are very good. The ladies running the place are very hospitable and came up to give us extra blankets and bed sheets. The extra bed provided in the room however was not comfortable.
They have a property right on the roadside which is used only in season. The hotel has adequate parking space and a good garden area set as an outdoor restaurant where we had our dinner. The breakfast provided in the indoor restaurant area was basic, good and in sufficient quantities - the spreads were particularly good.
Wifi connectivity was pretty decent. The dinner spread was quite huge and we had an opportunity to taste typical Armenian food - but the price charged ( 5000 AMD per person) was probably on the higher side and unjustified.
The ladies running the place - in particular the apparent boss lady Armenia ( named after the country) - tries hard ( may be a bit too hard) to make the guests happy and comfortable . Definitely a good choice for an overnight or short stay in Goris.
