-Nice pool area
-Hotel across the road from the beach
-Free breakfast included in room rates
-Free water in rooms
-Very clean hotel, hotel is constantly being cleaned
-Our cousins got married here and the wedding food was very good and staff were great
-No hot water in our room (stayed here 3 nights). Complained about it and it was fixed for a day but then stopped working again. Shower pressure virtually non-existent
-Beds very hard
-Pillows very flat
- wifi did not work all the time
-Can be very noisy as weddings are held at the hotel most days in August both during day and night
-Breakfast wasn’t very good at all
-Emailed the hotel prior to arriving asking if they had iron facilities and they confirmed that they did. However, when we asked to use the iron at the hotel they told us they didn’t have one even though we used it a day earlier as the cleaner let us use it.
-Inconsistent service (some staff very helpful, others not so much, could be due to lack of English, however we do speak a bit of Italian)
We picked this hotel based on its ratings' It is definetly not a 4 star!!! Holes in the wall, poor A/C that was set and unable to get it cooler, hole on the wall in our bathroom which was exposing pipes and obviously not repaired . Shabby looking hallways in need of paint! Lovely big pool but poorly maintained! Garbage everywhere, grounds poorly maintained! Tunnel to the beach is filthy, beach littered with garbage,(seems to be quite prevelant on this coast), front counter staff not overly friendly; however , on check in they were helpful in changing our room( initially our view was of a dirty alley and parking lot) This property caters to events, there was a wedding the first night of arrival! Perhaps this is how they get a four star rating? For the average tourist travelling Italy this property is a 2 star and we had invisioned being pampered and enjoying the luxury of a 4 star hotel! We were very disappointed and wished we had only booked it for a night, instead of 3! The on site restaurant is good but there is a much better restaurant just down the road called LaCusina where we had the best meal we've had in Italy! It's a must go to, it's a Michelin Restaurant!
From the moment you arrive at the front desk you are no longer a stranger! The staff treats you as though you are a family member that's come home for a visit. This is a family owned hotel and I mean family. The rooms are large and immaculate kept. The staff are constantly keeping the hotel and the grounds clean and beautiful. The main pool is Olympic size and the wading pool is used for kids and organized exercise. The dinning room is large enough to have a private party and yet there are sections small enough to have an intermit meal. The next door restaurant is called "la Pinetta" with indoor and outdoor dinning under pine trees, a magnificent setting. About a 1/4 mile down the road is another restaurant called "la Cassina" which is a rustic place which is outstanding for lovers to have an intermit meal. It also has an extremely large tent attached for weddings and parties. At the hotel itself it is not unusual to see a wedding because during the season almost everyday is a wedding and most of the time there are two weddings one following the other. Some wedding ceremonies are held on their beach. Although the beach is somewhat rockie it's beautiful and the water is delightful clean and clear. Most of the weddings are on the grounds of the pool area. We were told that they once successfully served wedding was as large as 4000 people. I questioned a groom from Ireland, why he was having his wedding here at Kennedy and he said where can you find a place like this to celebrate your wedding? I thought it a great answer. Now for the food, they serve a great deal of fish but have virtually anything you want including hamburgers and French fries. Needless to say eating is an epicurean delight, and the pizza, from a wood burning stone oven is out of this world! They also have an amphitheater which used for entertainment during the months of July and August. Sightseeing is easy. The mountain towns are just magnificent and it's easy to get to Reggio and then over to Messina, Sicily. I would recommend getting a rental car for your own independence. I can think of only one fault, internet connection and WiFi can be frustrating at times but that's the way it is all over Europe but what the hick, your on vacation any way! "Buon Viaggio"!!!
stayed here for one night. nice bed, good space in room. service was quick to fix a couple missing things.
cons: a bit noisy entertainment on our side of the hotel (first some children entertainment, then some other party.. until 12:30 in the night). the door to the balcony is not soundproof so the noise was quite high. Also, the wifi was often quite slow, we ended up using our portable router instead.
Stayed here for two nights in early July while on a tour. The staff are VERY nice and want you to be comfortable. They are doing some renovations and there were some issues with a few rooms. Some lacked functioning A/C. Others had missing light fixtures or phones that didn't work. However, in every case, the staff relocated you to a room that was fine. My point being that, for the next couple of months you can expect minor glitches as the renovation process settles out.
Absolutely beautiful pool. Easy access to a very nice beach via a tunnel under the highway. Owner has a nice outdoor restaurant next door and his family has an excellent restaurant, La Cacina, just a stone's throw away. Both have terrific menus - especially the seafood.
Be aware that, while the staff is super willing, their English needs some work. You can make yourself understood, but it may be awkward for a bit. Be patient and polite and you'll enjoy your stay.
