Chateau de Burnand is situated in Burgundy. It a very nice authentic castle on vaste grounds.
All rooms are different and the castle is filled with art, especially paintings of the partner of the landlady.
We had the St.Austin room -the former atelier of the artist.
I suggest before making a reservation you look at the different rooms on the site of the hotel.
Breakfast was okay

First of all we have to say that Jeane & Ruud are the perfect hosts.
The chateau itself is a gem, not too big but very interesting nevertheless. We were happy with our booking but once we arrived and saw the rooms we were in awe of the place and consequently upgraded to a four-poster large room which had the most wonderful views.
The surrounding buildings also hold many things of interest as well as the fantastic views all around.
There are so many places to visit and explore that we wish we had stayed longer as the villages nearby were so old and quaint. There is so much to do in the area & of course after a day day of sightseeing you return to this wonderful building and the welcoming smile (and if you're lucky Jeane's cooking) to end your day on the high it began.
Jeane herself is an accomplished artist/sculpture as is evidenced within the chateau and around the grounds as well as the outer buildings.
We will absolutely return for a longer visit.

Chateau de Burnand is not castle hotel, it is real castle where you are lucky to visit. If you are looking for fancy place with white tablecloth and luxury, this is not necessarily your cup of tea. For the others, authentic atmosphere with most friendly service in historical surrounding, give magical moments. The room was beautiful and decorated old furniture and textiles and modern comforts. Absolutely amazing place.
