We just had our year-end family bonding in Acuatico 29-30 December. We keep this trip dear to our hearts. We hope to hold this every year-end in Acuatico and maybe to add more event, our family summer get away come May 2020. We had our most memorable experience in the resort.
The resort hotel is 3 hours away from Manila and it is a smooth road trip. We were accomodated in the La Prima, the elevated premier area of the resort.
The staff were helpful and ever accomodating. Justin who assisted us with our luggage was courtesous and helpful. Eduard was superb as he oriented us in the resort thru the buggy and light walk around the resort and its F&B outlets up to the beach area. We shared light moments as well with some hearty laugh along the way.
We had a good lunch of pizza, burgers, fries, baked mac and some drinks at the Intimo bar. The food was good. Mae was excellent in service with good engagement to us and to other guests as well. Past 9pm Mae brought us a bucket of ice as we lounged by the pool. She also shared some small talks and some laughs, that is what you call ENERGY, no trace of tiredness, very motivated!
Mike the pool's lifeguard was efficient watching us all as we enjoyed the blue water of the infinity pool. My wife and me were there in the pool area sipping tea as Mike closed the pool. I stayed there lounging till midnight enjoying the cool breeze and the starry night. I was also in the pool area when Mike started cleaning it next morning while me and my wife sip coffee and enjoyed the early morning cool breeze, watching eagerly as the sun rises. The view was exhilarating! (The air was cool and smooth to the skin, no sticky feeling by the way).
To recall our arrival, Lyn efficiently checked us in while Alli brought us to our rooms. Both were engaging and knowledgeable of the resort. It was also Alli who showed us the Tish Gift Shop (perfect product knowledge!) where we bought the BEST Arurot ever! We knew
about the Arurot, it being an amenity
in the room.
We met Flora and Lawrence again at breakfast. Both showed the same energy, excellent service with a smile! Ever anticipative of guests' needs.
Along the way we met Chef Von Ragudos. Happy to meet the man behind the good food. Chef was engaging and shared some light moments with us. Kudos to the Chef and his team!
We also met the GM Ms Simonette Gusi, we knew for one why everyone was inspired and motivated!

I've been following trip advisor reviews for this resort even before I booked it--had really mixed feelings about the place. I'm glad that all my fears were wrong--the place was awesome! My family had a blast!
We had a few of weeks vacation to Philippines and decided to highlight it with a trip to the beach but wouldn't like the idea of a really long ride since we travelled with our 2 young kids. Acuatico was only 2 hours drive from the Sucat freeway exit. The place is so tranquil--there were few other families there with us but we feel isolated and free to enjoy the exquisite pool and the clean beach anyway we want.
If there are drawbacks, I would say just the sizes of the rooms and bathrooms. We booked 2 family rooms for 11 of us. There were enough beds but rooms are not spacious enough to move around and place your stuff. They have tiny cubicle for a shower--but otherwise everything you need was there--even toothbrushes and toothpastes. Air conditioning works well and sheets are clean and fresh. Good selections on tv cable too. Wifi works but only if you leave your door open--the cemented walls I guess block it.
Security is good--the whole place is gated from including the parking lot. The room doors lock as well as the patio doors.
The small beach area is clean and private enough although there are occasional trespassers trying to sell you some souvenier crafts.
The buffet menu is good enough for the price. Small selection but I guess enough blend of local and western stuff. There was nothing really fancy about the menu though--just really basic stuff.
The staff are courteous although there aren't many around. You will find them mostly at the restaurant and gift shop.
Overall, we had a great stay--for Philippines, knowing that since I grew up there, it's fairly high quality for a resort.

I may be biased because we had our wedding here 5 years ago ...I hope that serves as a warning! This is our favorite getaway that is just within 2.5 hours from Manila.

I was pleasantly surprised to see that they have maintained the resort and apart from that, have added and are still adding some upgrades (elevator soon to service the third floor). I noticed some changes in the rooms, pool area and other outdoor finishes. The staff is very friendly! You rarely need to call their attention. They offer to take your photos. They make sure you are taken care of. I was given a chair by the pool when a member of the staff noticed that all the pool beds were taken. Upon check-in, I was surprised to be greeted with a "welcome back, maam!" I am pretty sure it has years since I was here last.

The rooms could be small for some, but this has been a non-issue for us. It was very clean, hotel-level (not your usual beach resort), the toiletries are from Caswell and Massey, and a flash light and a safe were in the small closet. There were also biscuits and fruits in our room. Our requirement is a resort by the beach with a clean pool and theirs is definitely top-notch! My little boy enjoyed the kiddie pool so much. We had food from the buffet for breakfast, lunch and dinner and enjoyed the wide variety. If you are a foreigner and are hesitant to try local food, you may want to order ala carte as about half (if not most) of the items from the buffet table are local (at least for the duration of our stay).

It was also nice that they had a playroom. When it was too dark to swim, we took our son there to play.

I also got my period unexpectedly and was relieved to learn they had toiletries for sale at the gift shop.

I don't know of a better hotel in Laiya! We will be back again and again.

Room Tip: Rooms by the pool are the best! Very accessible and close to the beach. Third floor rooms are...
