OK lets remember this is a 3* equivalent and then enjoy my review.
We corresponded with the hotel in advance because our flight was pushed back an hour and we were not going to arrive until after 1am. Not a problem
Vicky helped arrange a boat trip with Captain Nick which was excellent
Breakfast was a mix served everyday with yoghurt, honey, fruit and cake accompanied by, on different days, omlette, cretan pizza, eggs and bacon etc., Plenty of tea, coffee and juice
The pool was a great size and 1.4m deep
Plenty of loungers and parasols
You can get a toastie and soft drink if you ask reception
The room was a little tired but had a fridge with ice box (roomcard controlled) however it was large and plenty of space for three
The gym was great as it had most options and I could do everything I needed, free weights, olympic bar and some machines
Buses to Chania hourly within 5 minutes, beach 15 minute walk

We discussed going back before we had even left

We've just returned from the most blissful, peaceful holiday in Stavros where we stayed at this gorgeous hotel. Tranquillity oozes from every inch of Paradice and we all feel truly soothed.
Immediately after booking, we realised an error on our part: one of our daughters has very special dietary requirements so we always book self catering. In the excitement of finding a hotel with a gym, we'd over-looked this crucial detail. A quick phone call to Vicky and it was 'not a problem,' she found a solution.
The gym is air conditioned and is more than adequate with dumb bells, bench press, an Olympic bar, lat pull down machine, treadmill and punch bag.
The pool is 1.4m throughout and big enough for the odd ball game. It's mostly a quiet place, though the laughter of a few children playing there was a lovely thing.
We had two rooms over-looking the pool area and the front of the hotel. They were big enough for us and the balconies were well used to get the benefit of the occasional evening breeze!
There were larger, ground floor rooms available beside the tranquil outdoor breakfast area.
The breakfasts... Oh my goodness! Due to the generosity of the breakfasts, we never ate 3 meals in a day during the whole stay. Although it was different every single day of our 14 night stay, a typical example would be a fresh omelette with bacon and salad, fresh fruit, Greek yoghurt with honey, freshly made croissant, cake, toast and bottomless juice, tea, coffee and water. They were very flexible according to taste!
Every single member of staff at Paradice was a delight. Nothing was too much trouble for anyone. Always smiling and taking the trouble to get to know each family, they were all lovely.
Although there's no on-site bar so it can be quiet in the evenings, we did sit in the breakfast area where there are comfy sofas and chat with other families on some nights. Having 2 supermarkets within easy walking distance meant our bar never ran dry!
We'd whole-heartedly recommend Paradice and would go back there at the drop of a hat!

As soon as we arrived we were greeted by Vicky, the proprieter who made us feel extremely welcome, we stayed in a stunning suite for 1 night which had two large bedrooms, the first room had 3 single beds , beautiful floor lamps , Flat screen TV, huge glass fronted triple wardrobe, Fridge, with plenty of room and space to relax, the second room had a large King Size bed, boutique type chair, telephone, flat screen TV, " it can be best described as an high end boutique style room" ..all fixtures and fittings are high end, top of the range,, including the bed linens and super soft fluffy towels, truly luxurious.

We then received a FREE upgrade to a huge two bedroomed "type apartment" as Vicky was aware we were in Crete to celebrate my partners 50th Birthday, these rooms were decorated to a very high " boutique standard, again 3 single beds, executive desk and chair, Queen Anne sofa, family size fridge freezer in the first room, the second room had a Queen size bed, boutique swivel chairs, huge triple wardrobe, art deco bed side drawers, beautiful pictures and lamps, absolutely stunning, the room also had a large well equiped bathroom, and balcony over looking the beautiful gardens. These rooms felt more like being in a boutique apartment as the rooms truly sumptious and enormous, all rooms have seperate air conditioning and safe(all free no hidden charges)

The hotel looked exactly like it does on the website/tripadvisor pictures, it looks even better " in real life" , Rooms are cleaned to a very high standard every two days, beds and towels changed, of course if you require extra cleaning, or towels this would be facilitated.

Its difficult to elaborate on what other reviewers have said, the breakfasts are excellent, you actually call reception from your room when you are ready for breakfast it is then served via waiter service either to your room or balcony, or the breakfast area over looking the beautiful gardens, you can order breakfast at any time this will be served within 20 minutes as its freshly cooked and often personalised .

Breakfast is different every day , we always had toast, butter(Lurpak butter) jam, cake, fresh fruit and yogurt, cake with each breakfast then " then main individual breakfast in addition which could be a full english, omellette, scrambled eggs, fried eggs, waffles etc, Tea, Coffee, Orange juice are freely available 24hrs from the reception area.

Vicky ensured our young son had personalised breakfasts each day, she often made him waffles with fruit decorated with chocolate cutting them up into tiny pieces which he loves, he also enjoyed onellettes, fried eggs with toast, boiled eggs and soldiers, pancakes and fruit,,Vicky has a natural affinity with children our son adores her., Vicky often handed out ice creams to the children around the pool area.

Paradice is the most professionally run hotel we have ever stayed in, all team members are genuine and highly professional nothing is too much trouble, Vicky knows how important it is for clients to enjoy their stay most of us work extremely hard all year and save to take holidays.

The pool is amazing,, the water is bath temperature , clean,,we often had the pool to ourselves it felt like being in a huge private villa, I enjoyed using " the chill out zones throughout the grounds for reading and relaxing often sitting near the pool watching our son having fun in the pool., my other half used the well equipted Gym a few times, the Gym has air conditioning and is accessed via the under ground car park with your electronic hotel fob

Reception have take away menus you can order good delivery food we tried this a few times I can recommend Bella Pizza its delicious, fresh and reasonably priced, you can eat this in your room or use the hotel facilities.

OUT and ABOUT-- Bus stop a few minutes walk from the hotel regular buses into Chania , cost approx 2.30 Euro each way,,Chania is a must visit destination, beautiful old town with a venetian harbour which is steeped in history, plenty of boat trips and excursions can be taken from Chania., bustling and vibrant plenty of shops and restaurants.

You can also hop on a Bus from Chania Bus Station to various tourist destinations, we visited Seitan Limania Beach, which is a visual paradice, cost 3 Euro each way., you can visit Elafonnissi also by bus from Chania.

Take a 15 minute walk from Paradice into '" a small town , there are two well stocked super markets on the hill and a handful of restaurants, " the wind mill restaurant has excellent reviews but is relatively expensive, apparently serving excellent fish dishes,,.

" ,The beach at the bottom of the hill is breath takingly beautiful, picture post card pretty, as other reviewers say Zorba the greek was filmed here, the beach is perfect for families due to the sheltered shallow calm warm water, you can walk out from the beach into the sea until the water reaches your neck, soft sand, crystal clear turquoise water absolutely stunning, there are small boats scattered around a small marina and a snack bar , couple of restaurants.,, we loved visiting the beach.

Car hire if visiting the area is highly beneficial although not essential, there are other beaches in the area such as Teresana you can visit this by bus, we would defineatly hire a car if we visit Stavros again but managed without one using the bus service instead.

We had a wonderful time whilst staying at Paradice for 12 days,,, Vicky and her team so deserve my 5 star review they ensured our stay was unforgetable, it was such a relief to realise we were actually staying at a hotel that looked and facilitated exactly as described in the brochures, Im sure other travellers have had negative experiences staying in hotels that look nothing like they do in the brochure.

We would defineatly stay at paradice again Crete has so much to offer, so much more to explore, Paradice is also ideally located for Chania airport only a15 minute drive, I wouldnt hesitate to recommend this hotel to family and friends.

I dont usually compile " fabulous gushing reviews I can honestly say with this hotel " you receive exactly what is described on the website plus so much more"

A huge thank you to Vicky and her team for ensuring we had an amazing holiday, thanks for the free upgrade, the free extra night stay due to an altered flight, and the free transfer to the airport. Wishing you every success for the future, from A, L, Little F, in the UK.

Luxury Suites ? what a misnomer. 4 Star must have a different connotation in Crete.
A basic room , with a wardrobe filled with a medley of wire hangers.
A Minibar fridge = empty.
A 22" TV that measured 17"
"Rainfall Shower Shower Heads" were advertised...what a joke
To get to the shower stall a contortion like maneuver was required to get around the wash hand basin and WC left one stranded in a minuscule shower tray with a curtain which ensured that the bathroom floor was wet after each shower.
In fairness the pool and area were splendid.
There is no room service as advertised.
We arrived at around 8.30pm after a 4.5hour flight looking forward to a quick pre prandial cocktail and some nosh to be informed that there was no bar AND no restaurant. we had to get a taxi to a a local cafe which would have been shut down if in Europe.
ther was no shuttle service - it had to be pre-ordered.
As for the breakfast , with no apparent kitchen, it appeared that the various variety of fried/scrambled eggs plus the inevitable green pepper decoration was tepid at best and sometimes cold as it was brought from the reception area around the pool area (a distance of 55 metres) on open trays. After a week we could take it no longer and rented a car and took breakfast at various local taverna.
The local beaches were fine but you must have your own transportation.
The "Business centre " was a desk and a PC.
The GYM was a dingy space in the cellar garage.
Located in the middle of a moonscape of abandoned buildings.
Tourists this is a dump masquerading as a hotel . AVOID.

Dear Mr Williams, We would like to thank you for taking time to write your lovely review, We offered you a fantastic deal for two Junior suites and breakfast, We offered you free transfers everywhere as your wife was ill, we had to put up with all your rudeness and your angry comments your rude gestures All the staff was upset by this, and all that for 60 euros, and a bad review. Your Attitude towards everyone was the worse we have ever seen, we hope no other hotel staff anywhere in the world ever have to go through what we went through with you, Thank you very much have a good day.
