I am giving just 3* instead of 5* because of our problem checking in.
We have stayed at many Holiday Inns & never had a problem finding our room. However this Hotel is an exception. Upon check-in we were told our room was # 315. The clerk said to get there drive your car to level C & then take the elevator to level 3. O.K.
We park at level C, get our bags & proceed along a walkway to an outside door that goes into the hotel. As we approach the door it is opened by someone going out so we do not need to use our room scan card to open it. We find the room which was on the same level & try to open the door. Nothing worked. We call the front desk & the clerk says that she will bring us another card. We wait & wait & wait. Call the desk again. The clerk says where are you?. We say outside of #315. You were not there says the clerk. What ! Are we invisible? Anyway after much talk we & the clerk finally realize that we are in the WRONG Hotel. Yes,, the Drury Hotel shares the same parking garage & we are in the Drury.. We exit the Drury into the same parking garage & see another door around the corner. This one does lead to the Holiday Inn. After 30 min we are in our room. What a bunch of crap.
On it's good side, we did have a full Hot Breakfast. Nice but small pool.
A MUST STAY!! CLEAN hotel, close to nearby restaurants. General Manager-Victoria, Front desk Sabrina, another rep also, (I can't remember her name), and the entire staff are amazing! They make every guest feel like VIPS! The perfect place for a staycation. Why drive out of town when you can stay close to home, swim all day in a clean spacious pool and walk to Applebees for dinner and drinks and wall back!! Housekeeping is excellent. Hotel smells clean and room amenities are well stocked. Great job Holiday Inn Express Airport! Will be visiting every chance I get!
So quiet, clean, large rooms, nice pool, great amenities, close to airport and restaurants. Easy access of freeway.
The girl at the front desk at 8pm on Th nt 11/30/18 was awesome, so helpful...Will definately stay there again but book thru app for lower rates..
The Holiday Inn Express San Antonio Airport staff, service, location, coffee, breakfast, gym, pool, wifi, guest rooms and 10th floor view all warrant a "Perfect Ten." This has become one of my favorite hotels in San Antonio. Thank you all for an outstanding and memorable experience!
I was a "road warrior" x 22 yrs. I really wanted to like this place but it has some issues.
-toilets heard flushing from other rooms
-we had a pool side/parking lot room so you will hear the cars beeping/horn security systems
-the airport shuttle is "on call" and you must be in the lobby PRIOR to the desk calling for a shuttle the desk will not take a sign up for an airport shuttle thus you will wait for 10 min..then the shuttle makes rounds at other hotel properties then deliver you to SAT...20 min process
--doors slam shut with folks entering/exiting...huge sound issue at this property!
We were lucky to be on a quiet floor with minimal movement in/out of units during the stay but the doors need attention.
Our wake up was 0430 and departure 5 am so no breakfast
We would not stay here again due to the lack of a scheduled airport van service ie every 30 minutes
The door issue is a huge negative also
I really wanted to like this place but for $110/night,I felt this was a 2 star hotel.I would prefer to pay more per night for a quieter environment and a scheduled airport shuttle.
