Our 6th visit to the Finca... and oh my goodness, once again this little haven of peace and tranquility does the trick! Our stay at the finca couldn’t have come at a better time. Our wonderful red room, opening out directly to the pool was comfortable and everything was just right. Nikki and Tom, forever the wonderful hosts, made this trip particularly special and we thoroughly enjoyed their company. Food and drink such an amazing feature... Nikki’s lunches and dinners are so tasty, plentiful and tummy over filling 😀
Thank you thank you thank you! Trying to work out when we can fit in the next one in!!
It has been a while since I reviewed the Finca, and as this visit was our 15th! I think it is time to give you an update. I think it is fair to say that the heart and soul of this lovely spanish guesthouse lies in the proprietors. Nikki and Tom are the most welcoming, loveable and generous hosts, so right from the moment you arrive, you will feel at home, relaxed and ready to enjoy a chill out break. Everything about this place is wonderful, lovely rooms, great pool and sun terraces, exceptional food and a very well stocked bar. The area around is great for walking and taking in the spectacular scenery and wildlife.
So if you are looking for a really top notch naturist holiday retreat then look no further.
We have been back home over a week and already miss 'Cava Time', 'Sun downers', competitive Boule and Tom thrashing everyone at cards! Can’t wait until our next Finca Fix.
My Husband and I travelled for our first visit to Finca Los Etera with four other friends. The train to Alora from Malaga airport was easy and on time and Tom from Finca came to meet us at the station. An interesting drive along the dirt road up in the hills to Finca was great fun. The resort seems remote but in reality is only fifteen minutes from The nearest Town. We were absolutely delighted with all the facilities. All meals and drinks are included so we were able to completely relax. Our Host Nicky prepared all the lunches and dinners. We served ourselves for breakfast - a good idea as not everyone is an early riser. Tom took us on guided walks in the mornings allowing us the afternoon to relax before Cocktails. A game of boule or a swim in the pool is a must. After dinner we would play cards or dance the night away. Tom & Nicky joined in all the meals and the fun which made it feel like an extended house party with good friends. All towels and toiletries are provided so we were able to travel with hand luggage - a first for my husband and I and it worked very well. We are already planning our return visit.
As you take the mountain road and start the drive up to the Finca you can feel all the stresses and strains of everyday life being left behind you. If you want a holiday where you can just relax and be naked then look now further. Nikki and Tom are excellent hosts and will cater for you every need. The way the Finca is run it is like you are joining friends for a week at their house, you forget that your host are working as they join you for meals, Cava time and Cocktails throughout the day.
Throw in the odd friendly ( if competitive ) afternoon game of Boules and an abundant choice of chill out music around the pool and this place is heavenly.
You can also take a walk, naked if you wish, straight from the Finca up the river bed. We did this three times, armed with a sarong to cover up but did not see anyone or anything other than fantastic views.
If I had to say something negative to balance this review it is isolated so if you want to walk to a town every evening then it not for you.
Great Location, Fantastic food, Excellent Hosts .......treat yourself.
My wife and I visited Finca Los Etera twice during the 2017 season after having visited in previous years. Each time we received a genuine, warm and friendly welcome from our hosts, Nikki and Tom.
The Finca is an oasis nestled in the Alora hillside, perfectly secluded from its neighbours. The place always looks immaculate and it never ceases to amaze us how and when the daily jobs get done – I’m sure that Nikki and Tom must get up before dawn each day to keep the place looking so good! Everyone prepares their own breakfast, as early or as late as you like, consisting of anything from fruit to cereals to a breakfast of bacon and eggs, toast, etc; and if there’s something you’d prefer that you can’t immediately find, it seemed to appear once Nikki or Tom had completed their next shopping trip. Later, usually around mid-day, we often helped ourselves to a glass of Cava from the bar. Nice. Later on, time for a swim, or simply relaxing on the lilo, the pool is beautiful and is the perfect place for cooling down on those long, hot summer days. Soon it’s time for Lunch which is a relaxed affair with a varied menu and a choice of wines (Red, White or Rose) or soft drinks from the well stocked fridge. Lunch often lasts for several hours as it’s a great time for socialising. It’s amazing how quickly the time passes by! Then, time for a Jacuzzi, often followed by an early evening cocktail as the sun begins to set. It’s a hard life!
Soon, it’s time to get ready for dinner, dress up or dress down, the choice is yours, my wife and I sometimes wore just a sarong or something equally casual. After dinner we usually chatted for a while before retiring to the comfortable lounge area to listen to (and dance too, if you wish) some music, or if you prefer, relax with a drink, or maybe just continue with the great conversation. We always find that our time at the Finca passes so quickly, so we must get round to booking our next visit real soon – we’d hate to miss out on our 2018 “Finca Fix”.
