Everything was superb: the room, the beds, the food, the service, the hospitality, etc.
We were there for a motorbike holiday and the hotel is well equiped: big garage, drying room and if you like support for making tours.
After a day on your motorbike you could relax in the spacious sauna area or take a dip in the pool and have drink on the sunny terrace.
Hotel Sonnegg is a lovely, tastefully decorated hotel located in Vorderglemm and close to the Schoenleitenbahn lift. The food is amazing, there is a wonderful heated outdoor pool overlooking the mountains and a gym and spa. Private free minibus transport is provided to the lifts and back each day which is a bonus. Have been here three times and would definitely recommend.
We had a great stay at Hotel Sonnegg and will definitely be back! I travelled with my two teenage children for a week of skiing and we had a lovely big family room, modern and clean with plenty of room for the three of us.
The hotel is very well maintained and we enjoyed the outdoor pool most evenings after skiing. The free mini bus is so helpful to get to and from the lift, it’s only a 5-10 minute walk away but when you’re carrying skis that’s too far!
A tunnel links the two buildings but when you’re inside it feels like the same building, it’s done so well. The wellness and sauna area is lovely although we didn’t use it much.
It would be even better if there were cakes or a snack when you got back from skiing about 4pm, a minor point!
Thank you everyone at Hotel Sonnegg for making our holiday so lovely.
Hotel Sonnegg is a fabulous hotel with a boutique feel. It's in a quiet location.
It's been recently refurbished - the rooms are modern and comfortable, there's a cosy bar, terrace (with beautiful candles in the evening) and restaurant. Outside there's a small heated pool with stunning views over the mountains and inside a well equipped gym and spa. The quality of the food is excellent - not too heavy and rich.
It's a ten minute walk down the road to the nearest lift - but there's a regular free hotel shuttle that runs mornings and afternoons. We never had to wait for more than a couple of minutes! (Remember to wear a seat belt though for the 2 minute journey; we were fined by the police).
Special thanks to Hildegard on reception who went above and beyond her role when our flight was cancelled. She rebooked our transportation and ensured our keys could be found in a safe place.
My wife and I stayed here for a week. Originally I was concerned that a week in one place would be too much as we have always toured around and stopped in different places as we went. But there were so many routes to choose from it was perfect.
The hotel was faultless and the staff really friendly. This really is a family run hotel and everyone was very keen to help.
For bikers this has everything, daily route suggestions inc downloading them to your gps, garage, washer and tools if you need them.
Food was great all week!
Saunas, pool etc really high standard.
The hotel manager Georg took a group of us on one of his regular trips up the grossglockner to see the sunrise over the Alps. Leaving the hotel at 4.30 was a shock to the system but definitely worth it. Awesome.
And after seeing the sunrise in a special way we then had the fantastic mountain road to ourselves!
We would definite recommend this hotel and would stay again.
