My wife and myself spent several weeks and 5000 miles touring the USA in the summer. It’s taken me three months to get round to doing this review which shows how quickly time goes by.
We were on our way to Custer SD and wanted to stay somewhere not too far away. We really lucked out with the Mansion House Inn. We had stayed in 23 motels and hotels up to arriving in Buffalo and this rated amongst the best. As far as that type of motel are concerned (i.e. not one of the chains) it was the best.
Lara, Paul and Mary were so welcoming. We made a mistake in not booking the bed and breakfast in the main house. Not that there was anything wrong with the motel. It was excellent. We understand all the rooms have an individual feel and we stayed in the Harley Davidson room. Quiet, plenty of room, and a great night nights sleep.
We both have difficulty with stairs and didn’t realise until the following morning, when Paul helped us to load the car, that he would have helped us, without us having to ask, with our cases when we arrived as well as when we were leaving. My wife enjoyed talking to Lara and her mum while Paul and I loaded the car. 😂. Not all B&B’s have that level of helpful service.
We couldn’t have breakfast because only the house is licensed. Hopefully the licence for the motel has now been granted and if not will be in the near future.
You won’t be disappointed if you stay here. We would love to stay again but over 4,000 miles and 7 time zones are a problem.
