Arrived 1 day early at night unannounced (we do standby) and staff very accommodating to find us a room. We stayed 2 weeks total and it felt like a home away from home. Great little breakfast to start the day included best yogurt I've had anywhere on this earth (and I've been to many places). Staff very efficient and nice. Hotel super clean. Cleaning staff very nice and did great job. Across hotel is great little supermarket with best prices. A bit further down is bakery where you purchase bus tickets ( buses go to several different beaches as well as villages) and great food (!!). We loved the moussaka and pastitso and stuffed tomatoes (for about 5 euros each very generous portions), all cooked on site by their lovely chef. You can eat on their back patio or carry out. Across the street was a great family-run Naxos Grill that served giant gyro souvlakis for 2 euros. Those were a meal in themselves! People there super nice and kids adorable! From our hotel, you had to walk less than 10 minutes to the best beach (St-George). First day, water was very calm so we thought we'd check out "wavey" beaches but then went back couple days later and this beach had awesome waves. My boys loved it! Ended up being our favorite beach from about 10 we visited around Naxos. We'd go there in the late morning, then return to our hotel, then take a dip in the great pool there. Then, siesta time. We'd eat, chill, play on our phones around the pool (wifi best at pool area) and nap and then go back to beach to swim and enjoy wonderful sunsets! Loved that! Nothing else like that in life. My son found a gym close to our hotel so he got his weightlifting in and he loved it! As for wharf, (again short walk less than 10 min), fun fun fun for having great dinners, souvlakis, coffees, people watching, and shopping. My kids' favorite food spot was YASOUVLAKI at the port and those Nutella crepes (mustn't forget those lol). Their other fave food spot was PIZZABIT. Best pizzas I've ever had (maybe it's just because we were at such an awesome island that everything there was better!). Fresh and great crust and priced around 3 euros. 1 more thing: there's a little store in Chora with baskets on the outside owned by K. Tzimbakis (sign outside). They have olives, herbs, goat cheese, olive oil, honey...to name a few items... all from Naxos, all authentic and amazing... I brought back tons of oregano lol. We did all this on foot (so have good support sandals or sneakers) from our hotel. We explored a lot and feel if we had been right in the wharf area, we would not have explored as much so just being a bit farther from the action, we experienced a lot more. We will definitely return but this time, for at least 1 month! Great experience at Sagterra in Chora, Naxos. Thanks!!! Kiki, Ken, Kris, Alex from Montreal, Quebec, Canada
