Absolutely in love with the House Mountain Inn!! A last minute trip to stay one night for our anniversary and we booked the Stonewall Jackson room. Although there was a wedding going on at the Irvine Estate, we couldn’t tell! It felt like we had the whole place to ourselves. Dinner was great, server Dave was even better. Can’t wait to visit again!
Our son had his wedding and reception at the House Mountain Inn/ Irvine Estates. This place was amazing. The mountain view and setting was stunning. The wedding coordinator and staff made the wedding go very smooth. The reception started right on time. The food was excellent. We stayed in one of the suites and was stunned on the size and beauty of the rooms . Highly recommend
Stayed one night July 26, 2019, in the Bratton Mountain Room. This place could not be improved upon! All the details you look for in a wonderful lodging were present. Wonderful large room with private deck with a hot tub. Fantastic robes ( not just the white cotton robes you usually get). Dual sinks, large side tables with great lighting, fireplace. AC and Bedding were perfect. Nice dinner, and beautiful great room, well decorated with a real lodge feel. Several nice porches to view the attractive grounds. So impressed with this place. Had to leave before breakfast which was scheduled late for us at 8:30, so they made us bacon and egg sandwiches to take with us. Really a wedding venue, but if you are anywhere in the area we would strongly recommend this out of the way place for tranquility and peace. One of the nicer places we have ever stayed. 5 star.
We loved hiking on the grounds (miles of wooded trails) and staying in a beautiful, spacious suite (fireplace, balcony, jacuzzi). The room’s only downside was the mattress, which was so squishy it sagged in the middle, causing some discomfort. As some other reviews have commented, the restaurant didn’t seem on par with the rest of the inn. At dinner, the food was just average and the service felt rushed. Two nights in a row we were encouraged to take part of the meal back to our room — at 8pm we were the last people still eating and it seemed like the staff wanted to go home. The breakfast staff was friendly and attentive, but the cooked-to-order breakfast not what I’d expect at such a nice inn: The “country breakfast” was a somewhat small portion of plain eggs, potatoes, and bacon with no sauce/garnishes and only one slice of white toast, with a second slice provided when we asked. The French toast dish was a bit better. We nevertheless enjoyed our stay and would go back for the gorgeous setting. It’s a 20 minute drive to Lexington, and we enjoyed exploring the scenic town, which offers some nice restaurants, shops, and hiking trails.
My son and daughter-in-law had their wedding at House Mountain Inn. Several friends and family stayed at the lodge. In our accommodation we had a spacious suite with a jacuzzi in the bathroom and a balcony. The suite was incredibly clean and the lodge itself was immaculate and well kept. It was nice to be able to go downstairs and socialize with everyone. The staff was a pleasure. to deal with. Jamie and her husband were awesome with all the planning and the details. Also the cleaning women were there in the morning doing a great job and were also incredibly kind and helpful. We were very happy with everything. The food was good, accommodations were outstanding and the staff were a pleasure. We would love to go back there again.
