This location and staff were amazing! Right off the main highway, this location provided easy access to major venues as well as a home like setting. In each suite, there is a fully stocked kitchen, pull out couch and some suites boast a two bedroom layout perfect for parents with kids, or even sports teams.
Due to COVID-19 guidelines, the breakfast buffet is closed as well as the pool and gym. However, the hotel staff provides a continental breakfast in a bag based on your order from their menu.
Staff members were friendly and helpful as well as professional in explaining guidelines from the CDC. Rooms were clean and spacious. Definitely recommend to anyone traveling to College Station for school, work, or a getaway!
My family of four stayed last weekend for our son’s soccer tournament. I called ahead and spoke with the Manager Leea, I believe that is how she pronounced her name. I was hoping to upgrade to a suite with our rewards. She told me she would let me know ASAP if a 2 bedroom became available. I had my doubts, but 30 minutes later she called and told me she had a cancellation! The rooms were very spacious and clean. Our bed was amazing, my husband and I slept very well. The breakfast was good but the area is small so we took the food back to our room. My son’s team won and advanced to the finals. So we were granted a late checkout so we didn’t have to keep all our belongings at the soccer field. The entire staff was very kind and so helpful. Thank you!
If you're planning an extended stay in College Station or just want the option of preparing some meals on your own then TownePlace Suites is the place to stay. It's located a short drive from Texas A&M with plenty of shopping and restaurant options along University Drive. The hotel rooms are large one-room suites with a large sitting area and fully equipped kitchen (stove, fridge, kitchenware, etc.). Rooms are located in several unconnected buildings which could mean a walk outside in the rain to grab the free breakfast. We found our room to be clean and quiet. Sure, the hotel is a little outdated but not in a way that was detracting. Prices are reasonable and the fronk desk staff helpful.
This hotel really needs to be remodeled. It looks like very little maintenance has been done. The artwork appears to be from the 80s. The furniture is cheap. The carpet has stains. The bathroom flooring doesn't even go all the way to the toilet, creating an ugly gap.
The morning breakfast buffet is below expectations. It's in a room that is smaller than any hotel breakfast area I've ever seen. The food choices are limited.
Worse of all the walls are thin. We can hear snoring from the next room!!!
I expect much more from the Marriott name. I highly recommend avoiding this hotel.
This hotel exceeded our expectations. After reading a few recent TripAdvisor reviews, we had some concerns, but our room was ready early, it was clean, everything worked well (especially the air conditioning!), and we were treated well. The staff we encountered were super-friendly and helpful.
Thus is an older Town Place Suites, but it’s well-maintained. The beds were very comfortable. The sofa was even comfortable—very rare for Marriott properties. Most of the appliances appeared new or at least recently updated.
As mentioned in previous reviews, the pool and the breakfast area are both small. The pool was clean. The breakfast itself was above average...lots of fresh fruit! There was a big selection of cereals, breads, bagels, waffles, muffins, etc. Great coffee!
For pet owners, there is a pet fee, but it’s worth it to us. We stayed on Bonvoy Points & were fine with paying the pet fee. There are plenty of areas to walk your dogs. It seems to be a safe area. Our dogs were relaxed.
This is not a Ritz Carlton. It’s a Town Place Suites. It provides the level of comfort and service we expected for a Town Place Suites. The staff were a plus! We’ll be back!
